  • Oh god, I'm totally doing that four week wall too! Is that an actual thing?! Lol. Oh well, I think I lost like half a pound or so.
  • 911 operator here. I would be okay with you calling 911 for that. Personally, I just don't like:

  • 288 to 289. Went up one pound (I had actually gone up three, but then lost two lol). It's all good, I'll try and catch up to yall.
  • Dine in restaurants. Not only do I usually cheat on my calories, but I have a difficult time logging the foods into my diary. Just the other day I had some Sarku Japan at the mall food court, and I had no idea how many calories it was (just that it was delicious). I tried my best as far as logging it in, but it was rough,…
  • Good to know someone in a similar situation made it! What kind of calorie deficits have you been using? (A thousand calorie deficit is what was originally suggested by mfp for me, but like I said a couple posts up, I was thinking about doing an 800 calorie deficit instead) Also, when did you lower or increase your calorie…
  • Just read an article (journal of obesity) that says 30% of your bmr should be your maximum deficit. I went on my profile and upped my calorie goal from 1800 to 2000. Still pretty aggressive, but hopefully a little better. Lol, I thought I was being moderate at 2 pounds per week.
  • Okay, that makes sense. My BMI is 39.2, so I do have a significant amount of weight to lose (I am aiming for around 190-200 lbs, so I need to lose about 88 pounds). I already figured that my weight loss would slow down after a certain point (mfp doesnt let you have a calorie goal lower than 1200, at the very least). I…
  • Thank you all for your responses! The weight loss is my first priority right now. I was told that increased muscle mass can help with the extra skin once I start losing alot of weight, and that added muscle can also help with weight loss itself. It sounds like maybe I should hold off until I can stand to go into maintance…
  • I've been doing loads of walking (running is apparently too hard on my knee joints at my current weight). I use to walk on a small bike path near my house, but then mosquitoes starting getting crazy, and the heat nearly unbearable, so I started walking in my nearest mall. It's great! Air conditioning, no mosquitoes,…
  • I put in my initial weigh in, then weighed myself the day after and found that I was three pounds heavier, lol. 2nd confession:I have an mfp friend I am super jealous of right now, because he is even heavier than I am, but eating 1200 calories a day, and doing crazy amounts of exercise (like 2-3 hours of swimming). That…
  • I'm sure that kind of thing happens to everyone, myself included. I determined a couple months ago that I wanted to start running every other day. Then I started getting severe knee joint pain, so I had to stop :( . On the bright side, I determined to start doing more walking, at least until I lose 30 or 40 pounds, then I…
  • Lol, I just thought it was great after all the trash talk Correia was throwing around, like how she hoped Rousey wouldn't commit suicide after Correia beat her, and how Rousey was just media hype. You go against Rousey thinking that and you deserve what's coming.
  • Hey there! Good luck on your journey!
  • Welcome back you guys.
  • I noticed that I like to have a big dinner, so I plan for it by having smallish breakfasts/lunches. I kinda felt like I had a bad start too, as I went from 13 pounds lost to 10 pounds lost on my July 31st weigh in. But this morning I'm at 11 pounds lost, so I am getting back on track. We can't give up, we just have to plan…
  • My wife does the same. Just yesterday she brought me a double whataburger with cheese and bacon, fries and a coke. Then she says, "If you want to diet just don't eat the bread." *sigh*
  • Welcome to MFP. Most of us have done the yo-yo weight gain/loss, you are not alone here. :)
  • I think 2 pounds is the AVERAGE safe weight loss. You don't want to lose too much all at once (straight up starvation), because your body will start pulling proteins from all your muscles and internal organs (its not picky). Even being slightly more moderate than full on starvation can have consequences. You'll start to…
  • I kinda promised myself I would stay on track until I hit my goal weight, so no pre-challenge binging lol. Honestly, I haven't been doing too bad so far, so I mostly want to keep going as I am. Perhaps you are right though, maybe I should do a little something. I think I'll make my mall walks more interesting/entertaining…
  • Though I have not seen the movie personally, I was aware of it lol. It would not surprise me if they named it that just for the hype it would cause. Especially given that it contains no soy. Mostly rice and potato starches and such. Kinda tastes like cold, grainy, runny, cream of wheat.
  • Water helps me a lot too! We also have some simple granola bars at work that anyone can grab, so a sorta healthy snack is not really out of reach if I really need something.

  • I've been drinking Soylent. It comes in 250 calorie scoops, so I can have as much or as little as I want, though I usually drink about 500 calories worth. Since its nearly liquid, its not very hard to prepare, and I can down it on my way to work. Not exactly quality eating time, but it gets the job done lol.
  • Started at 301 and am now at 288. Goal is 200. We can help each other succeed. Stay active, even if its just on your food tracker. :)
  • Keep up the walking! It burns a surprising amount of calories and is easy on the joints compared to a lot of other exercises. Food tracking here on MFP will definitely help you keep yourself in check as well. Feel free to add me and we can keep tabs on each other :) .
  • Current Weight: 288 Overall Goal: 200 August Goal:280 Goals: 1) Get on MFP every day to track and be active on the boards. 2) 3 hours of walking per week.
  • Hi! I'm Will from San Antonio, TX. 28 yo, 6'0", 290 lbs. I'm a 911 Operator, and am trying to go on long walks after work in a nice, air conditioned mall. My goal is to hit 200 within a year, and I've sorta promised myself that I would keep up with this until I hit my goal, no if's and's or but's.
  • And my axe! Or....you know...whatever.
  • I'd look at some Ronda Rousey training videos or fights, and then emulate to the best of my ability.
