And I am not necessarily looking for keto people. To me ... everyone's journey is their own for sure. I was vegetarian and then vegan in my 20s due to joint pain and it helped some ... but then I started working out a lot and it was weird ... I needed the meat. I have always tried to have a clean diet regardless even…

Ok ... so here we are about 3 years later and I am trying to hit some other goals. We are doing a very paleo version of keto ... still very happy with our health and how we feel. Trying to see if some pounds lost will help the last minor lingering health issues. Really would love to find other JWs.

Similiar goal here too. 42y/o. Started at 190. Currently at 168.4. Aiming for 145. Taking it nice & slow. We eat low refined sugar/grains. Which has KILLED compulsive overeating. First time ever. This is a forever change for us. Open diary and feel free to add me.

Metaformin for diabetes can cause weight gain. It did for my husband and my hubs doc confirmed it can do this. For us, hubs took himself off the meds AMA, because his type-2 goes away with weight loss. In 3 weeks, he lost 23 lbs and his blood sugar is now reading normal about all the time. Granted we ovehauled our diets:…

I believe I have gone over the hurdle. I am 60 days into this journey. I started because I felt there was a relationship between refined sugars and my pain level. I have had multiple accidents and suffer from chronic pain and fatigue. My doctor has tested me for tons of stuff: lupus, RA, thyroid, etc, etc. I got fed up and…

I made my 20 y/o daughter and I smoothies: cherries, almond milk, banana, red delicious apple, tahini, & baby kale mix. 288 calories for a tall glass.

I'm a "NO" too. We aim for healthy all the time and I have learned to have no guilt. If I decide I want a McD's oreo Frappe tomorrow...I put it into my diary first...and then fill the rest with lots of fruit, veggies, meats, etc to meet my calorie goal. I don't consider it cheating, I consider it life.

My dairy is open to my friends too..so add me if you want. I am not a young-un at 42, but I am not a lazy butt. I don't track individual exercises. I wear a Misfit Flash and it tracks movement for me, which has been enough. I eat a pretty healthy diet, I don't prescribe to any one thing over another. Our family eats veggie…

Stevia is a leaf or herb, I don't count it as artificial any more then basil and thyme, but I actually don't really like Stevia. I find it bitter. I try to like it, but just cannot seem to do it.

By quitting sugar...do you mean fruit sugars and milk sugars and even the sugars in vegetables? or just refined sugars? or also honey, coconut sugars, etc?
-
My husband is type 2 diabetic that once he loses another 10lbs, it will go away. Anyway...we DO stay away from refined sugars and refined grains right now, because he doesn't want to take medicine. BUT, for instance...sourdough bread...REAL sourdough bread can be gluten and sugar free. When you eat bread made with a…

To break a sugar craving, you need to eliminate the REFINED sugar. Whole fruit sugars and milk sugars are different. They are coupled with fibers and proteins to help release into your system slower. Even vegetables have sugar in them, so not all sugar is bad. I eliminated most refined sugars and refined grains from my…

Like others said, you are very brave and very strong. I was bulimic from 13-26. I stopped for religious reasons of all things. But I stopped. I am now 42. I still tend to deal with compulsive overeating. Just KNOW, that the things that are important to you now, and the people you THINK are important will probably not be…

My 55 y/o husband reversed his Type-2 through diet and weight loss alone. Once he hits a certain weight, his pancreas starts working properly. I really encourage people to take their health into their own hands as you have. You are an inspiration!

Wow. I think I just discovered today the MFP forums are full of trolls. To the above posters...is that how you speak to people in real life? I do not. I was trying to offer a point of view. I do not play the games you all just played up there, so have fun trolling tonight.

Personally, I like a good cleanse. I use the Master Cleanser. (organic lemon juice, grade B maple syrup, cayenne pepper & water) I recommend the book first and research. I used to do it 3-4 days, 4 times a year. I have been utilizing it for a decade or more. For me, I believe it works. I had a friend with IBS who went on…

2 being high or low? At first glance, I think the meal for the day looks good. Proteins, veggies, low sugar. I look at people's open diaries and yes, they eat under 1200 calories, but there is nary a vegetable in there. Great, I guess if you are under 30 and think you are invincible. People will pay for their lack of…

Once upon a time, I became a dietary vegan. I switched to soy EVERYTHING. Big mistake. I developed a soy intolerance. Bloated me up, caused cystic acne. Bad, bad, bad. I switched to almond milk, but even then, the sugars were getting me. I eventually went back to meat & milk and discovered I really tolerate raw milk the…

All commercial bread, except for homemade sourdough which I make, makes me fatigued. It will also trigger inflammation and pain. I finally decided it wasn't worth it. It took me 42 years to start listening to my body. I am a firm believer that some diseases, especially auto immune & pain dieseases can be minimized through…

I would also love to have people with open diaries in my friend list. I wouldn't say I am the epitome of clean eating. We eat natural, raw, and organic where we can, but we also have occasions where we eat out with friends or go to BBQs and I just try to eat carefully. I keep my diary open because I WANT to be accountable.…

I agree with this because I think you (the original poster) look great with nice muscle tone already. To me, you are just about there. I am 5'4" and aiming for 149. When I get below 135, I am toooooo skinny. When I see ladies wanting to be so thin, I don't understand. My oldest daughter is 20, 4' 11". So tiny. She weighs…

I just wanted to say, I hope you meet your goals. I was bulimic from 13-26. I stopped only because of my faith. What I carried over was compulsive overeating. So, I don't keep bad food in the house. Not ice cream, not cookies, not chips. It's a fight for sure.

Chia jam! and Chia pudding! and today was just chia seeds in grapefruit juice & water, tastes almost like the Momma Chia drinks. Chia pudding though is my favourite. <3

I have a Misfit Flash and really do like it. Well, aside from the fact the clip broke, but I made some wristbands out of stretchy ribbon and I'm good to go. I average 7500 steps per day, so to keep to that I walk extra as much as I can. I have a slow metabolism. Keeping track of what you eat REALLY works. It makes you…
