You body doesn't need a detox or cleanse your kidney will do a good job if you let it. Save your money, but if you want to do it light for a few days...no caffeine, no alcohol, no red meat, no added sugar or sodium, no dairy, no grains...this is what all the bought detox packages tell you to do as well as eating plenty of green vegetables, chicken and fish, drinking lots of water. I am pretty sure its not the product that gives any benefits but the diet for a couple of days.

Benefits are usually temporary, eg loss of water weight...but this is usually regained when a person goes back to their normal eating patterns

Thanks but I have a very restricted diet due to a chronic illness. So a lot of the food you mentioned I can't eat

I'm not trying to be rude, but I find it odd that you have a restrictive diet where you can't eat meat, fish, or veggies, but you have another post up right now about treats where you talk about eating peanut butter creme Oreos. Unless I'm truly ignorant about your illness, it's unusual to have an illness that restricts stuff like vegetables or meat but allows Oreos.

I can only eat soft foods so soft that it's pretty mush mashed or made soggy. I can't chew.. So yes I indulge in Oreos once in a while by sucking on it.

Is it a dental or a swallowing issue?

There are just so many options to making foods softer so you can eat them, I don't understand why you seem resistant to some of the options you were offered in this thread.

I never asked for suggestions for food and I've tried it and it doesn't work for me. I found healthy soft food I enjoy and I eat. I'm healthy and I'm not planning on doing any crazy detox plans.

And I don't understand why you are keep going at this. I already said I'm not doing a detox. Plz don't call me resistant. You don't know my situation. Thank you

Pureed veggies in soup is an excellent idea! You can bake fruit as well. I bake apples with cinnamon and nutmeg all the time. Also pumpkin custard. . . full of vitamins and other deliciousness. I love a good chocolate malt, but I can't imagine sucking on an Oreo cookie. Skip the "detox" and get imaginative with food.

Never thought I would suck on an Oreo either lol but it's been over a year so got to do what I have to do. I'm learning to get creative with my food

You can treat them like cereal. Break them up in a bowl and pour a little milk on them. Let them soak that up and add a little more if you need to. Nice and soft and perfect Oreo to milk ratio.

Not that I eat my Oreos like that or anything o:)

    hello
Anyone know of a good detox or cleanse?
Personally, I like a good cleanse. I use the Master Cleanser. (organic lemon juice, grade B maple syrup, cayenne pepper & water) I recommend the book first and research. I used to do it 3-4 days, 4 times a year. I have been utilizing it for a decade or more. For me, I believe it works. I had a friend with IBS who went on it for 30 days. Basically cured herself. As long as she ate good after that, the symptoms didn't arise. Me. I developed an ulcer after taking Mobic after a car accident. It was bad, I was eating baby food, my doc was about to do a scope...I remembered about the Master Cleanser and ulcers. I decided to try it for a week. It was the ONLY thing that calmed my stomach and if I stay away from NSAIDS, the little guy rarely flares anymore. My husband also does the Master Cleanser. We both find it good, especially if we have slipped into poor eating habits, it is a good jump start to nix sugar cravings. It gets rid of bloat and makes my skin super clear. I do not recommend it for weight loss, though you will lose weight. People who cleanse for weight loss aren't really learning to eat healthy. Once we come off a cleanse, we start back up with veggies and fruits and then add in meats and such. I hope this helps someone...coming from the pro side of cleanses.

Wow. I think I just discovered today the MFP forums are full of trolls. To the above posters...is that how you speak to people in real life? I do not. I was trying to offer a point of view. I do not play the games you all just played up there, so have fun trolling tonight.

When they spout woo? Yes, I do, and I even have the advantage that I'm informed enough that I can refute it with quite the verbal alacrity. Unfortunately, I've yet to find a way to make anyone on MFP read at the rate my verbiage would dislodge when woo makes me do what I do.

When people spout woo, I call them on it. I'm even better in real life! On the Internet I rarely bother trying to make people see sense and/or science anymore. I've wasted my breath too many times. They'll believe what they want.

They aren't trolls - they're real people, calling you out for posting stuff that's not true. Start spouting that stuff IRL within my earshot and I'll call you out on it, you bet. It's not trolling, it's being realistic. You weren't sharing a 'point of view', you were sharing information that is not factual.

I like a good cleanse as well. A nice strong cup of black coffee first thing in the morning and it's like last night's dinner never even happened.

The book I cited above specifically addresses the Master Cleanse, as well as others.

If you believe that woo works then good for you. You've found yourself a great placebo that doesn't damage anything, much as it doesn't hurt anything and makes you feel like you're taking control

Where you are going wrong though is believing there is any science or real world solution in your lemon juice cayenne syrup water beyond adequate liquids followed by a good elimination diet and control over your eating. It's simple, just think about where your cayenne woo lands ...right in a bath of hydrochlauric acid, potassium chloride and sodium chloride ...a little bit of lemon juice ain't doing anything to that heady mix. You just shouldn't try to convince others of it

No need to be offended, they're just communicating to you that you are describing the placebo effect.
    Nothing more than that.
The Placebo effect is so strong that I works on (some) people even when the Dr. who hands them a pill tells them it will NOT work for their malady...

Consider yourself lucky that you have such a strong (positive apparently) reaction to glorified holy water.
