So, if I eat them like twice a week, there isn't any reason to think there is a problem with that?

"recovery drink" means after a workout?
-
I so far don't enjoy "mindful eating" but calming myself down BEFORE eating feels like it might support me in many ways, including less likely to do emotional eating, perhaps? Unlikely a full blow "mindful eating," I get to eat with and talk with friends during a meal.

What does "SAD" mean in this context?

Other cool things you want to share with me, Oh wise one? You just make a big contribution to my life, @Queenmunchy!

Nice! Wow! I really feel like I ate pasta to my hearts content! @Queenmunchy thank you thank you thank you thank you! And I love that I can keep raw zucchini for 5 days in the refrigerator ready to put in a sauce and eat, instant meal! Reduce my temptation to eat carbs, which is what mostly keeps me from being leaner, I…

Turns out a friend of mine who lives very close has, as far as I can tell, the same one you have! Just sprialized a zucchini and a carrot! Wish me luck!
-
I've made zucchini linguine just with a knife and I like that pretty much... Any related tricks? Sauces that go well?
-
@Queenmunchy do you find it a very satisfying way to feel like you are eating carbs when you are actually not eating much carbs? Was wondering if I can get away with a cheap mandoline? What's the difference?…
-
@Queenmunchy do you make pasta with? Or what?
-
Yes @Verivus and also perhaps to make things that are not soup at all? Stock is used in lots of places in cooking, right?
-
Well, now I really want to try it! Thanks!
-
@kshama2001 Do you eat the cookie and kind of "practice" enjoying just one? Since moderation is such a challenge for me, I'm thinking I can focus on being/staying grateful that I can enjoy the one chocolate square without any negative effects.

I think I might find it easier to do a couple 500 cal days per week then to be totally consistently not over eating the rest of the time, near fasting for 24 hours is pretty easy. What's Michael Mosely's logic?

I did meet a body builder who had a very strict diet and expertize schedule and one day off each week. I'm not pitching anything... just asking...

Note the search feature that allows you to find many foods. Not just basic ingredients like lentils but complete dishes: http://nutritiondata.self.com/facts/soups-sauces-and-gravies/10272/2

Look at the "Nutritional Target Map" for these two wonderful foods (an orange and lentils): * http://nutritiondata.self.com/facts/fruits-and-fruit-juices/1967/2 * http://nutritiondata.self.com/facts/legumes-and-legume-products/4439/2 Keep in mind: * The closer a food is to the right edge of the map, the more essential…

I like that attitude! Any of you folks use Skin Fold Caliper rather than a scale? http://www.builtlean.com/2010/07/13/5-ways-to-measure-body-fat-percentage/ then we can pick a healthy body fat level and if you are heading toward it, and doing it slowly, all is well. Good idea? Bad idea? BMI is something I think of as good…

@ColinsMommaOC "because I know it is there" - that is an interesting and important problem, right? I want to bring my own food so I can control quality but I don't like that feeling that my lunch is calling my name! What to do about THAT issue? Ideas?
-
@kommodevaran and anyone, please do give it a try and tell us what shows up for you!
-
@kommodevaran oh, would you do me a favor and ignore that the study he talks about was done with M&M's. Imagine it were done with spoon fulls of lentil soup or whatever IS on your diet. I imagine eating two bowls of soup before I start then eat the one bowl I want to eat and my mind/body feels more like I eat 3 bowls. If…

Ah, your view @hannahthorntonabd746 is that people with similar goals are helpful? Why? Anyone use Public Commitments? http://www.overcomeobesity.org/psychology/public-commitment-for-weight-loss/ I'd love to hear what people do and how it works!

Really, no one has anything to say? Come on, folks!

Why "rarely use olive oil" @RodaRose ?
-
Some people are pushing coconut oil pretty hard... not sure what to think! Coconut is a nut, right? Perhaps it should be in the mix? http://authoritynutrition.com/top-10-evidence-based-health-benefits-of-coconut-oil/

Right, the challenge is to NOT get them from other sources. (Can you provide more ideas about "Make "cheese" from cashew nuts to include in dishes." @GreenTeaPotato.) I knew someone who did AMAZING things with cashew cheese like stuff many years ago..

I started a new thread about this question here: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10227477/trying-get-the-bulk-of-my-fats-from-nuts-does-this-make-sense-at-least-for-vegetarians?new=1 I'd LOVE you guys thinking!

I figure that the fat I eat for health (including nuts) will rarely be heated at all and generally minimally processed. The fat that I use to make a fried egg taste good can be small in quantity. I want the bulk of my fat intake to be from other sources, I think... Anyone here try to get their fats from nuts? It appears…

Where should I have looked this up? Thanks!
