Does TDEE and maintenance mean the same thing? Because IIFTM TDEE is giving me 1740 and MFP is giving me 2030 for maintenance calories and I don't know where to go from it's so confusing

I don't really do BMI because they don't take into account muscle and also like another person has said, genetics build us differently and most importantly different people are happy at different weights. At 5'2, BMI tells me I should weigh between 104-132lbs*. Currently at 161lbs I think I would be happy at 150lbs -…

Thank you for your informative reply as are some others!!! For anyone who wanted to give smart *kitten* replies, you can remove yourself because I asked a genuine question and to be honest I'm fed up off the people on this forum who believe they are all knowing and enjoy giving unwanted rude responses to a question. Yes, I…

Interesting, I've done both, cold turkey but this time I'm doing what you've said and just as I was tucking into my allotted Ben and jerrys I was called to go to the gym and the person told me I shouldn't think of it that way? Basically eat as clean as possible

I agree, eating breakfast makes me more hungry and it's NOT full of carbs, I eat Greek yoghurt with fruits honey and chia seeds

I don't understand there is no question? But I will say that going from eating at a surplus to eating at a deficit can make you feel that way it may take time. Or maybe you are eating too little?

I eat Liberte 0%fat Greek yoghurt 100g, 1tsp honey, 1tsp Chia seeds then add fruit either 50g strawberries, blueberries or 1/2 Granny Smith Apple. Very tasty and satisfying always equating to under 200 calories :)

+1 Exactly... Who made you master of people's tailor made diets and in what way they think of food. No need to be snappy this thread was to see the way other people go about things as it's interesting.. Thank you for all your replies I'm starting to agree with the consensus that having a cheat day goes actually cheat…

Hello, thanks for the request. What's your goal weight?

I agree 100% despite what many people believe on this site, loosing weight without calorie counting IS possible and i am proof of that. OP, 2 years ago I lost 36lbs by changing my diet, intuitive eating and exercise. I didn't count a single thing, this time however I am trying out calorie counting :). I honestly believe…

Thankyou! I appreciate your reply, and agree with not feeling good about myself, also living to be healthy instead of living to loose weight makes the whole journey seem less laborious and focused on a number which is depressing. I know the journey doesn't stop there I am fully aware that going back to what made me…

I agree OP, it's not easy with CiCO and very estimated which i why IN the past I've shunned it knowing I've lost 30lb without counting anything but trying to be in tune with my bodies natural 'calorie counter' as you can called it. I have however now joined MFP to continue my journey with CICO to see how this has a bearing…

Thank you for everyone's replies, I think I may go up to 1500 for now. I'm going to start exercising in 2 weeks time. Why would I cut back my calories the further I go along? I'm about confused

i think I've set it as 1.5 Even though MFP is telling me to eat 1200, setting mown goal of 1300-1500 with excersize Will this hinder myweightloss I'm just not sure if i should follow MFP to the T or tailor it for myself and what i think will work for me. As in, if i don't eat 1200 will this mean i will not loose the…
