Alcohol is the only one I can imagine.

MY wife put in 45 pounds after being put on them. Her doc told her she would gain. Then a few years later we changed what, how much we ate and she lost the 45 and 15 more. Her doc was shocked. For her CICO worked perfectly. Good luck.

I know you're right. Had a case of Salmonella. Spent three days in the bathroom then three days in the gastrointestinal unit! Don't do that to yourself.

I did at about that BMI. It slows down the closer you get to normal. I didn't do anything dangerous or unsustainable.

After DW and I each dropped 55 pounds, neither of us snore. I was spending many hours on the couch before she did.

I ignored the DR. Ate what I wanted, my body did a great job of telling me what it didn't want. I'd second the RD. recommendation. Short of that, start logging and looking at your macros. You will quickly learn what low fat means. A few quick notes: I'd cut out most red or processed meats. Chicken and fish are your friend.…

DW and I lost over 110 pounds and ate all the carbs we cared to. Including bread, pasta, ice cream......

As mentioned most primary care physicians are required to take little education on nutrition. My last PCP would get scared if I would ask about diet, his nurse was very knowledgeable, My new PCP, very young, seems better versed. We had a great conversation about my bloodwork vs. diet. Don't believe that only CICO matters…

How many are in a box? A couple of boxes.

Just don't name them.

I will tell you from first hand experience what your talking about is NOTHING like what addicts and alcoholics go through. NOTHING! When you don't sleep for weeks or go into convulsions from withdrawal from sugar, let me know. When your hands won't hold anything and your skin crawls, let me know.

My wife successfully quit smoking with hypnosis.

When we started walking it must have been a sight. It was hilly and we choose to walk around the neighborhood. DW couldn't keep her footing going downhill, I'd walk ahead of her for brakes. I couldn't walk uphill, my heartrate was off the charts. We saw change very quickly, although we were walking 30 minutes. Within a…

Interesting. I'd never heard of it. Maybe worth a try. I did a few trips into the 44°F river last week after some time at 106°F. It was an expected shock followed by a nice calming experience.

I last chewed gum in 1996. Is that weird? I never intentionally swallowed gum.

Yes. Most vegetables won't kill you even if they are past their prime. Eggs, meats, mayo etc. will kill you(or make you wish you were dead). These you need to avoid.

We didn't join PF but did tour it. According to what they sad then they will show you how to use the equipment. I think if you stick to the machines and don't overextend your range of motion it should be great. Weight training really does help as you are losing.

It feels awesome. Seriously after working out and being in shape it's really nice.

Yes. Eat less than your BMR. It's that simple.

Gizzards. "Go Chicken Go" gizzards from the original restaurant in Kansas City, Kansas. Side of mash too.

Going cold turkey on caffeine is a good way to give yourself killer headaches. Maybe taper off for a while.

We lost a very good friend because someone from her church convinced her that she needed to pray more. She passed away from a treatable cancer.

Just eat less calories and lose weight.

^^^^^^ Walking around with hypertension is a great way to screw up your kidneys. Great advice. You can possibly get it reduced by weight loss, exercise and diet. Really watch sodium, caffeine and alcohol, it makes a big difference in mine. I was off meds for over a year, moving to 7600' raised it after a few months. I…

Good luck. I have cervical spine issues and while a little unpleasant they've worked well for me. I have known a few people who have had mixed results for lumbar issues. Fortunately each had a very positive effect from surgery.

Pasta, I regularly ate 1600 calories, before sauce, meat, cheese and you have to have bread! Now no bread, 300 calories of pasta. Nice homade sauce with wonderful meatballs and I know the calories.

Thanks that's exactly how I feel.

I lost the first 13 pounds in a month, 42 pounds in 21 weeks. Then it slowed to a half pound weekly. My wife's loss was the opposite a half pound weekly, at most for 3 months. Hers speed up the last 20 pounds. This is a YMMV.
