Eating healthy wouldn't stop you from getting cancer or leukemia etc. Should always at least go for a checkup once a year for bloodwork.5

Yes, you are right. I do these things and also I do exercises.0

I expected this to be in Fun & Games.3

But sometimes we can stop cancer with happiness and health food.1

Are you saying someone with cancer will get well without medical treatment if they are happy enough and eat "healthy" food?

No. Cancer does not care how happy you are or what you eat.7 -
I mean happiness, healthy food and medical treatment together.1

If you believe this for yourself that is your business. Please don't say this kind of thing to cancer patients or their loved ones though.
When my mom had cancer someone said she'd get better if she were more active in the church and prayed more. People tried to sell us on their idea of healthy lifestyle as a cure all. It was hurtful and disgusting during a very hard time. When you actually have cancer you need a doctor not a diet or someone telling you to be happy. A doctor will advise their patient best when it concerns life threatening illnesses.10 -

So much this! As a chronically ill person it is hurtful and maddening to hear such crap. Gotta love how people who obviously don't have a very deep understanding and much knowledge of your disease always seem to believe they know the cure.9 -
There is more to being healthy than what you put in your mouth.0

I just think OP is very lucky to have that outlook on life... maybe they aren't old enough to have been screwed over yet.6 -

Is this a joke?
My mother ate predominantly nutritious food and was active. And happy despite the BS in her life. She had cancer and beat it, but she suffered from heart disease for 28 years! Dad ate a similar diet and had bladder cancer. He has Alzheimer's now...and guess what? He was unintentionally low carb, and some low carbers are so adamant that low carb prevents illnesses such as Alzheimer's. HA!4 -

We lost a very good friend because someone from her church convinced her that she needed to pray more. She passed away from a treatable cancer.5 -
I cracked my hip during a fell run last year. Food didn't stop it happening.5

I had a very bad Sickness, even Infection in my body.(my colon). All doctors told me that I had to surgery otherwise it would be too bad for me. I was very ill. I could not do my rutine life. But I did not like to do sergery. So I decided to do something by myself. I got a lot of information about my illness, about its treatment and remedy. I changed my habite of my eating. I just ate food that was good for my illness. After one year I treated myself. Everybody was shocked. But I won. From that time until now, I have not gone to a doctor. I treat myself just with food, water and exercises, nothing else.0

I was not sure how seriously to take this thread, but thank goodness you had doctors who were able to inform you of the disease process in your colon. Also happy to hear you are doing better.
Your story is not a statement about doctors, because you still needed them and used them; but it instead represents being an informed patient and and your own advocate. Good for you. Please make sure you see your DR next year so that you keep your problems in check. A healthy diet will not prevent chronic health problems.2 -
So while I completely understand alot of the responses on this post, I was under the impression this is a support app where we educate each other and build each other. Some of the responses are here are down right rude. I think the poster is just trying to say, a healthy diet is important for over all health. Maybe they were a little exaguratede but I know I've always been taught healthy diet is the best way to stay out of a doctor's office and off medications. I'm also constantly seeing information about cancer fighting foods and such. Just saying

So you have been to a doctor...5 -
Didn't you start another thread about living with someone you hate? How do you reconcile that with eating healthy and being happy?
You have a singular experience but I respectfully suggest it is very limited. Unless you embrace all of life you know very little.5 -
No, fortunatly I do not need sergery because I keep to use healthy food.khorshidnaz16 wrote: »I had a very bad Sickness, even Infection in my body.(my colon). So you don't need sergery anymore?

Of course it is important to be supportive and, yes, I agree that a healthy diet is important; however, for the OP to state that:khorshidnaz16 wrote: »But sometimes we can stop cancer with happiness and health food.

I think they just don't know the proper way to type what they are trying to say. I believe they meant prevent cancer but either way I can understand that. My aunt had cancer and she always seemed very happy, not necessarily healthy but I do understand. She unfortunately did not make it. Some people just don't understand that not everyone is dealt the same hand. No every situation is the same and we need to be conscious of that.0 -

I eat healthy and am still getting a colectomy. You're just young and lucky. If it weren't for doctors and medication I would be dead. I was working out 2-3 hours a day and eating well when I was diagnosed with very severe Crohn 's disease and almost perforated, hospitalized for over a month and did Tom and strong meds. No amount of healthy eating (since I already was) would have saved my life.1 -

I don't think eating healthy is going to prevent cancer either. Plenty of "healthy" people get cancer and other non-communicable diseases. Every is different, and making blanket statements like "we can stop cancer with happiness and health food" is not helpful3 -

Actually, a healthy diet can go a long way toward preventing many cancers. There is absolutely a link between diet and at least certain cancers.
However, OP does need to see a doctor for a regular physical. Some cancers, as well as a wide range of other diseases, cam appear even in people with the very best diets. So I do agree with your larger point.0
