I was also recently diagnosed with likely Type 1 diabetes. I'll likely get a pump and Dexcom soon, as I'm doing 4+ injections and checks each day. Any advice for a new user of these devices? One thing that's helping is exercise before meals. It can get my sugar low enough that I don't need insulin. What's working for you…

I have been active and not logging it here! I can't remember everything I have have done since day 16, but it's mostly been A LOT of walking. This week I started using the elliptical at the gym along with free weights. I think tomorrow I will start Couch 2 5K, as I have been feeling the urge to RUN! So even though I…

Days 10 and 11 consisted of 60 minutes of walking each day. I said I wanted to mix things up, then I got a fitbit and I am finding walking simple, easy, and motivating. Guess I'll stick with it for now.

I walked today for 70 minutes. Day 8 complete! have been doing a lot of walking since this challenge started. It's an easy way for me to get my movement in. At some point this week though, I want to add on different activities so my movement is more robust. Any suggestions that might be an inspiration?

Suggestions welcome! I definitely do not take advantage of videos in the way that I could, YouTube or otherwise. I want to, though, because I need the flexibility that videos provide in terms of always having a way to work out, getting rid of that barrier. One particular difficulty I have is with learning the video. I find…

I am right there with ya! I already get up EARLY, so morning workouts are out for me. The gym takes too long and outside is too cold - do you see I'm good as making excuses? Ha What I have found works for me is just a 30 min exercise video each day. There are tons on Youtube, and I also have a few programs that I really…

Just reading through this thread is so motivating and energizing! Glad it is here! Today I'll: 1. Look up workout videos to support my goal of 30 minutes of activity for 30 days. 2. Try a few resistance band stretches to work on flexibility. 3. Put my bike in the basement before the storm. 4. Pair house cleaning with an…

This is totally what I need! MFP has helped me lose weight by being mindful of what I eat and how much, but I am totally stuck in an exercise rut! In the past, I biked to work everyday, or spent hours in the gym, and now I just can't seem to find the right on-ramp to get back into regular exercise. I'm a teacher too, so I…
