Here's an awesome success story and his only exercise was walking: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10121458/from-511-to-175-a-336-lb-loss-over-5-years/p1

I want to do something adventurous that I need to be fit for. Hiking to Machu Picchu type of adventure.
-
I don't have the data to assume what works for others, but I'm doing "pure CICO" and my doctor just took me off BP meds.
-
Funny how an epiphany will suddenly strike; I knew my goal weight was half my starting weight, but it didn't hit me until reading this that I've lost 25% now.
-
Just to add an alternate point of view. I'm also type 2, but I never track/restrict my carb intake. Just by controlling my calories and exercising regularly, my blood sugars have been steadily decreasing. I fully expect my doctor to reduce my metformin dose at my next A1C check.

My doctor took me off blood pressure meds today!!!

This thread was the impetus I needed to get my flu shot. No reason not to, just hadn't got around to it. Plus one for the herd.

Totally off-topic, but would there also be brother husbands?

Why do you find it 'very hard to figure out what our CO is'? Given time, you will see if your CO is greater than your CI. If it isn't, make adjustments. Ex: my original goal was 2 lb loss per week, my actual losses average to 1.5. I know that I can adjust my CI down to meet my first goal. Simple science.

I've been thinking of getting my first tattoo as a reward. Originally I thought when I have lost 100 lbs, but now that I'm getting close, I'm pushing it back to closer to my final goal.

My son was looking at the charts I have on the fridge and said, "You know, Mom, I'm really proud of you." Awww moment.

Some on normal days, all during these warm days.

Very impressed by some of the clearly explained, scientific reasons to get vaccinated given in this thread. I expected to see a lot more woo thrown around. Definitely pro-flu shots.

I sure hope I'm dealing with vanity sizing because at 5'10" and a weight where everyone else says they're wearing 20-22, I'm still in 24-26. I've even got some 26 that are still too tight. Or I've just got really fluffy fat. :)

Lol. I use the deep litter method during the winter, which means in the spring there's at least 8 inches of straw/waste to pitchfork and shovel out into a wheelbarrow and to the compost pile. Lots of great insights in the replies. Thanks again. I'll keep working at it knowing that even if I never love it, it's still…

Sorry to bump a necro thread, but I'm curious if anyone here has successfully maintained their loss using the Sanford Profile. Quite a few of my co-workers have used the program to lose weight but none of them kept it off.

I always have to reset the scale because my cats like to walk on it and it gets confused. Same as the majority in rituals. I also like to workout first thing so I know I consistently sweat out 0.8lbs during my hour on the bike.
-
Today I jogged for 90 second intervals! Last time I tried I only managed 30 seconds once.
-
I reached 85 lbs lost this morning so I get to reset my mini goal to 90. At my current pace, I should be back in three weeks for the next one. :)

Thanks for all the replies. It's cycling I really enjoy; I do get up at 4:00 a.m. to use my stationary bike on work days. There are a few reasons I wanted to include a little strength into my life. I'm getting close to the half-way point in my weight loss (84 lbs down so far) and this feels like the right time. My son…

Just dumbbells at home.

I just got a new food scale to take to work and after reading this thread had to run to the kitchen and verify it and my old scale were measuring the same.

Definitely talk to your doctor about the leg pain. I had something similar when I was taking statins; the pain stopped me from exercising. When I stopped taking them, it gradually went away and I'm pain-free now.

There isn't a single declarative sentence in that link. "May" and "appears to" even in the animal studies they have done haven't proved anything.

I disconnected my Vivoactive HR from MFP and enter my exercise manually. I love the heart rate monitoring and step counting, but ignore the calorie estimates.

I try to avoid drinking my calories, eat an orange instead of orange juice? But some days I'm just hungry, my go-to emergency filler is a can of green beans for a snack. Luckily, I like green beans. :)

Love this thread; very motivational. I'm taking this in 5 lb chunks - just 0.6 left to reach my next one. Hoping to get there for the Twenty One Pilots concert next month. What I'm looking forward to and scared of at the same time is hitting 100 lb lost. I have a history of reaching a big milestone and becoming complacent,…

Does weight loss while being sick not seem legit to you? I've been dropping about a pound a day but I can't view it as real.
