Thank you for all the advice. I am impressed that so many of you do not lick the spoon after measuring/while cooking, but I will definitely use the quick add for when I take more than 1 bite of something!

Hot in Chicago too. I tried the early morning walks, and my gym doesn't seem that air conditioned. I've taken up getting in my walks at the mall, but my credit card is now screaming!

my active calories on my watch are less than MFP calculates for the amount of steps I do.

I have exercise induced asthma. For it, I take a daily (Flovent), and take my rescue inhaler about 10-15 minutes before exercise (albuterol).

if they don't have those brands in NZ, you can always try a binder. they are designed for transgendered female to male & will really smoosh you.

The no weights until she's 16 is because she can break her growth plates & she might stop growing or start growing at a wierd angle. PLEASE check with her pediatrician 1st.

When I was running it was at 4:30am. Now I'm lifting instead & it is when I get home at 8pm.

Ditto on keeping my car keys with me, along with my cell. my wallet stays in the car in the locked glove compartment. i even take my cell & key with me to the pool. they are wrapped up in my towel.

I like this approach! I have 80 to lose but am going to Maui on April 2nd. I hope to lose 20 by then, but even that seems like a lot.

ok. stupid question. I just started lifting and my muscles hurt the next day. I see a gradual increase in the number of reps I can do, but I'm wondering if I should decrease the weight to increase the reps & not be sore the next day. Note: I'm in the lifting to maintain muscles while I lose 80 lbs phase. thanks!

Viagra comment really hit home. Friday was my birthday & there wasn't any birthday sex. It is me, isn't it......... Biggest lie? I don't have time to exercise. i have asthma & I run. Before I run I take my daily inhaler (flovent) & 10 minutes before I hit the treadmill I take my rescue inhaler (albuterol). 2 meds that allow me to run are worth the feeling I get after I run- that sense of accomplishment, and knowing my heart rate & blood pressure are going down.

Thank you for all the support! Today, again I was over, but this time by less than 300 calories! Hopefully soon I will be satisfied with my calorie allotment!
