I'm a big fan of Les Mills classes. In fact, I did Body Attack tonight and I also do RPM. A lot of my colleagues do Body Combat and Pump. I thi j group fitness classes are a lot of fun. We've got some great Les Mills instructors in Sydney.

Thank you.

I think it would depend on how much pain you were in and the location of that pain. If you do classes, let the instructor know you have RA and they can give you low impact options or alternatives. Don't be afraid to try lifting weights as well but only incorporate them into your routine if you feel it's manageable.

Well done on losing so much weight! I am a member of a gym and I love it. My gym is very welcoming to people of all shapes, sizes, ethnicities, gender and sexualities. I would suggest getting a trial membership and see whether you feel comfortable. If it's not included in the membership, I'd also suggest getting a personal…

As well as focusing on your diet, I would also incorporate cardio into your routine like walking (if jogging is too much) and classes like Body Attack. I would not do any weights that specifically target your calves.

I'm going to give this a go. Thanks for sharing!

Sometimes I put in a teaspoon of rice malt syrup in my tea :-)

No, I have never used protein shakes as a meal substitute. I have never been on a diet. I prefer to have a lifestyle plan that is sustainable over the long term.

Great self-control! I work in an office that seems to have cake every other week.

I tested negative for celiac disease but I just find I feel better when I don't eat wheat products. I found some nice flavoured tea the other day and after drinking, I found my stomach was bloated and I feel unwell for the rest of the night. I looked at the label and there was wheat In it. Who knew? My point is that if you…

To curb my sugar cravings, I did a sugar detox called 'I quit sugar' by Sarah Wilson. I certainly don't agree with everything she advocates but it did help me curb my sugar cravings. However, to put it into perspective, before the detox, I also did not drink soft drink or eat a lot of processed foods. The hardest thing for…

Rowing is awesome especially for toning my arms. I also feel that it's underestimated. I'll have to watch the video posted in the thread to check my technique.

I suffered from stomach bloating and stomach pains for a long time before I started eliminating wheat, dairy and legumes from my diet. There was a huge difference and I feel much better. I don't really agree with the theory behind it, I just find it works for me. If I didn't have food intolerances, I would not be…

I'm just throwing it out there but Pilates is good for lower back pain. It may balance you out a bit. Even if you do not have classes at your gym, there are exercises you can do at home. It would be good to do a few classes first though to perfect your technique.

I agree with you that you don't have to exercise to lose weight. That's why it's weight loss is 80% of what you eat and only 20% exercise. However, exercising is far more than just for weight loss. As someone else mentioned, it also has a lot of mental health benefits as well as building stronger bones, improving your…

I do Pilates and in Les Mills Body Attack, there are also leg exercises like squats. I also do the following exercises for my thighs and butt (light weights, 3 repetitions of six): - deadlifts - weighted glute bridges - sumo squats - walking squats - glute kickbacks

I did a similar program called 'I Quit Sugar'. I think it's a great idea to do the Whole 30 program. You can actually recalibrate your tastebuds by eliminating food from your diet. Ignore the negativity and listen to your 'gut' instinct :) My stomach was always bloated but I've found that certain foods eliminated in the…
