Tinker- I understand how keto works and about the initial weight loss. The point of my post was to say the first time I tried this I lost 3x what I did this time and I am eating healthier this time. I’m discouraged that I’m trying to do better and losing less.

Yea, I have no problems eating right and working out, but I dread doing cardio.
-
Thank you Jenny! I will check her out.

That video was very helpful. Thank you.

I switched to the bar last time bc I wanted to go up to 60lbs. I think my form is ok. I don’t have the bar touching my shins the whole way up though. It’s just slightly in front. But I check my form in the mirror and it looks good. I’ll have to try to put it up against my shins too.

Above the head is too scary for me lol

I’m already flexible, but I definitely am working on flexibility too. I do yoga 2-4x a week, and I do cardio 6x a week. I also do body sculpting, total body workout, and a couple of other classes that my gym offers.

I thought about using kettlebells, but my gym has limited equipment and doesn’t have them. Thanks everyone for your advice. I’m sore today, but not overly sore! Can’t wait to try again tomorrow. I spoke with the lady at the gym and told her I was a little sore. She said 40lbs is too much. She said she uses 5 lb weights.…

There is a bar there that I can use. I just tried with dumbbells bc they were easier to access.

I tried with dumbbells today. I had the girl working observe my form. She said my form was great. The only thing I need to do is get gloves. Hurt my hands more than anything. I didn’t really feel anything anywhere else.

Do y’all think dumbbell deadlifts are the same as with a bar?

Thanks for yalls advice! Im dieting with my exercise to lose weight. That sentence was just meant to say I’m not trying to get bigger. (Bc if this community category)

Thank y’all so much for the info! I really appreciate it!
-
Thank you so much for the positive comment! Cheers!

Well I plugged my info into a few places and to lose 1.5 lb a week it said I need to be at 1200 calories. It said around 850 for 2 lbs a week
-
I didn’t say I wasn’t seeing results. I’m just starting out.
-
I’ll definitely keep y’all posted. Like I said, I will change my diet slowly, but everytime I just drop everything cold turkey, I never succeed.

I am trying to strengthen my core. I always try to make sure my core is engaged with everything I do, and I haven’t been working out long. That’s why I was confused when I wasn’t sore. I feel like I am not doing these exercises correctly. My back will be sore after, and I don’t feel like I’ve worked my abs at all. Even if…

I will give that a shot. Thank you!

Well I know how to cut down on calories. I used to count calories and it was a job in itself. I understand what y'all are trying to say, but I'm not eating mcdonalds, fried foods, and eating chocolate every day. Supper is my worst meal and I usually have lots of ingredients. (Soups, casseroles, etc) My endurance has…

Ok so I guess I will just eat less. I was trying to do this without being miserable. I think counting what you eat sucks.
-
Yea I have spoken to him. I was going 2x a week. He suggested I go more. Now he's suggesting to incorporate more cardio. I'm not measuring my food. I eat a little bit several times a day. I do eat at 930pm most nights. I need to stop that.

I'm 5'7 and 164. My goal is 135. When I was 135, I looked amazing. Not too skinny, not too thick. As long as this is making you happy, and you aren't throwing up your food, he should be happy for you. Screw what other people think.

I finally got my husband to start working out with me. (I can't workout alone), but he loves all kinds of food. So even when I'm trying to be strict...he wants all this delicious foods and it's so hard to resist. I completely understand.

I'm 5'7. I weigh 164 now. I still have baby weight to lose. A few years ago I was doing yoga and got down to 135 and looked TERRIFIC. I'm hoping to get down to 135 again (of course I didn't appreciate it then). I have an hourglass figure (even when I gain weight), but I'd rather be smaller than I am now. (Too easy to get…

Thank y'all for the advice! I'll be eating more and starting slow on the workouts
-
Yea I could try that. Just hope it comes out good lol.
-
Yes, when I cook, I cook for the family. 3 of us

Wow. Yea you're right. Thank you. I doing this to be healthy. I don't want to get worse.
