  • Are you undereating and/or overtraining? I read (I think it was in the book The New Rules of Lifting for Women but not 100% sure) that overtraining or not eating enough can sometimes cause sleepless nights.
  • So by workouts he means days, and they are grouped by the weeks? So workouts 1 and 2 is actually week 1 days 1 and 2? Workouts 3 and 4 is actually week 2 days 3 and 4 etc. That makes more sense now. Still slightly confused by the workouts. Squats for example has at least 4 different variations. Do you just do the first…
  • I used to be terrible when it came to cooking. One of the reasons was having to eat things several days in a row (then I discovered you can bulk freeze things and not die). The main one though is that I hate washing up with a passion. Having to wash up pots and pans after just really put me off the idea. Then I got a…
  • Have you considered getting a Jawbone Up instead? I was looking at getting either a Fitbit or a Jawbone. I narrowed it down to a Charge HR or an UP3 and went for a Jawbone UP3 in the end. I was mainly interested in the sleep function which is apparently better than the Fitbit version. A comparison review of the two is…
  • I've tried Day 1 of the 30 Day Shred. I like her, she don't take no *kitten*. There are modified versions of what she does if you struggle with the "proper" way. Only thing is that it does get boring after a few days, as you are basically watching the same video over and over again. Her videos are on YouTube, but the DVD…
  • Hey Linda. I'm from North Wales too, thought I'd be one of the very few from Wales, let alone North Wales!
  • Muscle weighs more than fat. Muscle also burns more calories when resting than fat does so ideally you want more muscle and less fat. If you are doing weights, then this may account for some of your weight gain. Also you need to ensure that after a workout (within about 45 mins) you have a small snack that contains…
  • I usually have spinach cooked, but raw I'm sure would be fine. I eat rocket raw (Mmm beef & rocket butties). I might do a meal plan this weekend where I substitute stuff then. I'm guessing it's not the end of the world if I don't follow the plan 100%, just so long as I avoid stuff on the NO list.
  • Yeah, the granola is the tropical fruits one. A 50g portion is about 224 calories. I was surprised about the banana though, that has been verified at 110 calories. Once the pack runs out I might try the muesli suggestion.
  • I'm thinking of joining a PiYo class at the gym. Is it something that you can join or will I be totally lost in the class?

  • I've set up a weight goal and it's allocated me only 1200 calories a day. I somehow pretty much manage to eat my way through all of that for breakfast! All I have is a cup of tea, some granola, natural yogurt, strawberries and a banana. By the time I've had a bite of my lunch it's game over. The only thing I don't seem to…
