  • Ok great, thanks x
  • At least being on a waiting list is better than them saying no x
  • When I was pregnant with Teri I was taken into hospital with severe chest pains. I had a little oik of a house doctor who looked all of 12 and he told me to stop making a fuss it was just heartburn. I now know it was a stone moving and getting stuck! By the time I found out it was too late and I was being rushed into…
  • Yep, that sounds right! As does the AA stuff. There's no one to blame for my weight but me. I can blame Steve for taking me shopping, Teri for cooking, the company that sold me a car that left me disabled, etc, etc, etc, but the bottom line is I ate it, I got depressed, I lost control. I know some people find comfort in…

  • I've started using coconut oil and I found it's lovely as it adds a nice flavour to foods. Not a coconut flavour strangely!! I did two lots of fried potatoes for Steve and Teri the other week. One lot in vegetable oil the other in coconut oil and even Steve who's a fussy git said the coconut ones tasted much better! Thank…
  • Me again! Just before I take Molly out for a walk! I've found a cordial so I've ordered that. Will get the kit when I've got the money next month!
  • Ok looking into Kombucha stuff. Do you have a heat tray? Cheapest set I've found with a tray is £40. I'll have to wait a few weeks until I can afford it but I'm definitely going to give it a try!
  • I picked up some Stevia this morning. Going to try cooking with it later.
  • Erm, you're going to think I'm making this up but I don't have a gallbladder either! Had pancreatitis when Teri was 6 months old due to undiagnosed gallstones. I had been telling the doctor for 3 years something was wrong, but I was fobbed off. By the time they operated it was so bad, I had to have muscle under my arm and…
  • Why do they always push for the group sessions??! Oh yeah, money! I'm the same, I went to CBT etc groups and got nowhere. The one day I was offered one to one therapy and it was such a breakthrough. Years of going nowhere and suddenly things made sense. Not everyone works well in groups. Stick to your guns and get the one…
  • Dunno what group you're on about but I'd run for the hills too!!! lol! I agree with what you've said. I don't believe in the idea of a God, I believe I have guides who help me to choose the right path for me and help me to be the best person I can be. I think there are Spirits who are 'in charge' for lack of a better word.…

  • I know what you mean. My husband and daughter are Roman Catholic and go to church on Sundays. I respect that and they respect that I don't believe in that. My daughter, Teri, has dabbled in the Pagan side too so she's got a more rounded view. I think a lot of people use religion as an excuse for wrong doing. To be honest,…

  • OMG! I'm craving scotch eggs!!! Not had one for YEARS because they're high fat and I was told no fat, just carbs! I'd forgotten them! I'm sooo buying sausage meat and making some! Dammit! Won't be able to until Monday! Don't think I can cancel my exam and I'm sure Steve wouldn't be happy if I cancelled our night out to…
  • Nope, I've not been told that about B12! They just inject me every 3 months. I'll get some when I'm shopping on Monday. I've got PCOS too. Great for weight too isn't it?! It doesn't help I've passed it on to my daughter. Her's doesn't seem as bad as mine but I was fine until I was 18, her's started at 13 so I think hers is…
  • I've so had a visit from the F Off Fairy! Sadly at 40, not 30! I just need to be strong enough to tell everyone to f off. Most people I can but Steve's parents I struggle with. I think it's after years of not being able to stand up to my own mother (that's a WHOLE other story!!!) I guess I don't want to cause problems for…

  • Thanks, I'll have a look for both books. I know anger is bad for me and I shouldn't let it boil to that point. It was just a bad day and all the little things from the week were whirling round my mind!! I was good and didn't binge! I held off and cooked dinner for us all and ate properly. I'm getting better at avoiding…

  • I'm in. Set a challenge and I'll give it a go!
  • Thank you everyone. It's nice to know I'm not alone. I'm insulin resistant and I've either got Fibromyalgia or CFS/ME. It depends on what doctor I see and which way the wind is blowing!! I've got a whole list of illnesses that overlap so they don't know which is which, all I know is I suffer with a lot of pain and I…

  • I've got a spinal injury too. I broke 2 vertebrae 13 years ago and I've got a prolapsed disc in between them! I find walking on grass is much easier than the road. Is there a park near you could walk in? The other thing is on the treadmill you have bars to hold on to. You could be using them to take some of the weight off…
  • I think you look great, and I love the tats! I've found that since I've had my arms tattooed I'm not so self conscious about them. I've been wearing vest tops all summer x
  • I was told to lay off fruit due to my sugars being too high but I'm going to ask the consultant about that when i go back as they seem ok on the new meds. The nuts are because I can't take statins so I have to be careful with my cholesterol. Doesn't help my favourite thing is Peanut butter!! lol!
  • Thanks every one. Sorry I've not got back to say it sooner! Things have been busy so I've not been on my laptop. Things are going much better. I'm back on slow release insulin but a different type. Apparently most GP's won't prescribe this one because of the expense but the consultant felt it was best for me so they've had…
  • I can't have high fibre due to other conditions. I was told to stay off fat and eat a high carb and protein diet which will 'help me to loose weight so my diabetes control is better'. Guess what, after 12 years I've not lost a lot of weight and what was under control for 11 years now isn't. What the hell am I supposed to…
  • Now why hasn't any one told me that before?! Grrr! They're all so quick to tell me not to eat fat and to take more drugs no one in 12 years has told me to cut carbs. In fact I was sent to a nutritionist who told me to eat more pasta as it's filling and will help me loose weight. Thanks I'll read up and start changes.
  • Thanks, I'll get shopping!
  • Not fair!! They don't ship to the UK! :/ Going to check out local health food shops and see if they do any. Thanks
  • Sorry for the general reply! There's been so many helpful replies, it's great!! I'll look for those syrups. 0cal sounds too good to be true! I've not tried Squirrel for breakfast but there's loads here so maybe..... :p
  • Can't have nuts because I can't take statins and I have to keep my cholesterol low.
  • Sorry! Yeah it's british!! Rolled Oats with milk. A sort of lighter porridge!!
  • I'm on 80mgof Insurman twice a day. The 9.8 is first thing in the morning. Thats the problem. It's not dropping then other days it's ok again. I know I'm worrying about nothing! It's just the resistance I'm worried about. I've been told I could pump tons of insulin in and it not have any effect.
