About 3 on average for me too. It's very normal!

Hi... You've gotten lots of good advice above. I am going to make an unconventional suggestion: I think you should start with a dexa scan. They cost about $100 and are offered in most major markets, so if you live in a small town you'll need to go to a nearby city. The reason I say this is because then you'll know exactly…

The aria is not reliable. If you really want to know your body fat percentage consider paying out of pocket for a DEXA type scan.
-
If you maintain your weight that long you are eating at maintenance.

Using just my personal experience, no. I spent my 40's overweight but 'fit fat.' Increasing exercise always seemed more attractive than decreasing food & drink, but the math never pencilled out to a sustainable deficit. Maybe there are some who've succeeded with this path but it never worked for me.

Chiliquiles: scrambled eggs, enchilada sauce, grated cheese & crisped corn tortilla... My oldest daughter is home from college for a few days. It was an indulgence.

I like the Vega One plant based protein line. Kind of spendy, but the mocha shake made with a frozen banana, pumpkin purée & roasted beet as well as some Greek yogurt, a tbs of nut butter & some freshly brewed coffee is DELICIOUS.

I'm a sub. I never know what to expect. Fortunately teaching days are short. I drink one water glass in the morning & the rest starting the last hour or so of school. Try to wrap it up by 8 or so so I don't pee all night!

Hahaha @Mavrick_RN you always make me laugh!!! You are so right! That show is BRUTAL

Also: I recognize you from your other thread. Go to the gym! No one is watching or judging you. In the time you were dithering about this silly nonproductive stuff you could have taken a nice productive walk.
-
No one cares or notices. This is just one way your head tries to get in your own way! Silence those thoughts and go to the gym. Give yourself a treat when you're done.
-
You DO know what to do. I have confidence in you.

Snack hips! That's amazing! Thank you for coming back! Please do update periodically. I have some baggage around weight too. Don't we all? Beyond just eating and fussing with my family's food for comfort, I realized that I kind of liked feeling covered up & safe in a layer of fat as a wife & mom because when I was very…

Yeah. You need to do this. Sometimes I wish my Fitbit had a little cartoon arm that could shoot out and knock that extra slice of pizza or second beer out of my hand...
-
Glad things are working out for you two.
-
Well the most preachy & sanctimonious are generally the most bankrupt and corrupt, right? Ignore. You need new friends!
-
Stop relying on feels and instead put in place good routines, habits & firm expectations that you can't wriggle out of. When was the last time you left the house without pants? Are you 'anti tooth brushing'? Do you ever spontaneously skip a work shift, a parent/teacher conference, or a medical appointment in the last half…

My suggestion: let him research & implement his own plans. And up the life insurance.

Unreasonable and childlike. Part of the reason he's such an obese train wreck right now, no doubt. He should fall on the floor and literally kiss the ground you walk on that you are willing to help him while you two eat together. Puhleese!

What a wonderful excuse to never see your in laws again! Think of all the time you'll have for friends, hobbies, working out!

I'm of two minds on this... 'Fat' should not be bandied about like 'stupid' or any other belittling term in anger or bullying. That's wrong. Don't take it. Walk away from any interaction that devolves to that level. Unfortunately being over fat, carrying an excess of adipose tissue, is a very real & very prevalent…

How long did you weigh 246 lbs? Longer than 3 months? Well there you go
-
Remember that old saying 'Where ever you go, there you are'? Well that's you, post lipo. You need to learn how to properly manage this. Save the surgical aesthetics for the last bit of fine tuning.
-
My weight varies every day. I use a weekly average weight to see the trend. Get used to it.

Don't Feel free to pay me out of the money you save LOL

You have to use trial and error. The standard 3500 calorie deficit doesn't result in 1 lb of loss for everyone. Eat at a 500 calorie deficit & see what you lose...
-
I splurge along the way. I've lost .9 lbs a week on average for 240 days. Some people pride themselves on how perfect the can be; I'm not one of those people. I'm consistent but far from perfect. I even have splurge grades: Low grade splurge: I need a break, or I'm traveling; eat at maintenance for a few days to a week...…

You want to lose 4 lbs a week to fit in a dress for a wedding that's not even your wedding? Zoiks We really don't metabolize more than two lbs of fat a week period. You could dehydrate yourself some too. Beyond that your body will just compromise muscle mass and bone density. So you still think healthy muscle and bone is…

No, no and none. What is with all these 'lose x by y' posts? Spring fever? Bath salts?

I have one weight loss journey buddy & other than that I zip my lips! This has to be an inner process, and it has to rely more on routines and rhythms than inspiration/motivation because that will change from day to day.
