  • Thanks for all the info guys.. I'd say I'll start incorporating a 2-a-day every now and then - it's nice to feel as though you're getting a little bit more from the day when you have the extra time on your hands for once!
  • Just this morning I made an oatmeal and apple cider vinegar face mask. It works wonders, and helps soothe my super sensitive skin. But as a weight loss aid? If you drank over your maintenance calories in cider vinegar (and you would have to drink a LOT), you'd gain weight, the same as anything else. If you think about it,…
  • You can't spot reduce fat (unfortunately) from any specific part of the body.. All you can do is eat at a caloric deficit and reduce your over all body fat %. Exercise is one way of creating that caloric deficit though!
  • Funnily enough, during my TOM I crave chocolate so so much, (and all other sweet things) but I do my best not to give in to the craving. Normally, I include chocolate into my day almost daily, and can feel that my sweet tooth is satisfied after just one taste. But during my TOM if I put one square of chocolate in my mouth…
  • Cinnamon, whole milk (sometimes I do 2 parts milk 1 part water), a TBSP of maple syrup, and I mashed ripe banana.
  • Mushy peas and mashed potatoes are the bomb.
  • Between uni and work I don't have a whole lot of free time, although I'm lucky that this year I don't have *as* many hours of lectures etc. throughout the week. I agree with the person who said perhaps focusing on exams at the moment should be a priority. However for me, if I have lectures at 9, I have to get up at 6. By…
  • I tried doing the 30 day shred about a year ago. I didn't understand the importance of a caloric deficit at the time and so I didn't really see any results, because I was still eating too much. So I can't really account for it's results, but any form of exercise will add to a caloric deficit and thus make you lose weight.…
  • Today I was ridiculously over my calorie goal, but somehow STILL couldn't stop myself from finishing the calorie laden belgian chocolate flapjack in my fridge. (Even though I was 400 calories in the red.) So, instead of making today's logging look even more horrific, I logged 1/2 of the calories in tomorrow's section and…
  • I second this. I've never been particularly overweight, maybe 15 - 20 pounds and I have a few stretch marks on my thighs. I never really noticed them until recently because I never expected to have them. My mum and sister were both quite over weight for a long time, and now having lost the weight they don't have stretch…
  • I strength train 3x a week, currently finishing up a 4 week program with fitnessblender.con then I'm hoping to start New Rules of Lifting for Women or Stronglifts, need to look in to it a bit more and then decide! My diary and profile are open and although I use TDEE method (so don't log exercise calories) I still log my…
  • I also have this problem. I workout 6 x time a week and always get so sweaty, it's impossible to not have to wash out my hair. I wash my hair 'fully' only once a week, every other day that I need to wash it I rub just a bit baby shampoo in to my scalp, and some conditioner in to the ends. I've just accepted it's one of…
  • You should check out fitnessblender.com! They have loads of free workout videos plus cheap structure 4 and 8 week plans. I love the variety of if, and I'm doing my second round of one of their 4 week plans. But like shrinkingletters I'm just trying to build up a degree of strength so that I can really start hitting the…
  • Exactly how I feel. I'm 119, and would like to lose another 10 - 15 pounds. But I decided to concentrate less so on the scale and more so on the mirror. For me the look achieved by lifting far outweighs a number on the scale.
  • I love It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.. It's funny when you think that we're all on here talking weightloss, and that guy gained 50 pounds just to play fat mac. Anyway, I have the same problem. I eat dinner, and unless I've been particularly diligent with my food choices that day I don't tend to have much left for after…
  • Hey, I'm hoping to lose a similar amount to you! I'm 20 years old, 5ft tall and want to lose about 15 lb. Feel free to add me, my diary is open to friends and I log the exercise I do each day. Good luck! :)
  • Thank you everyone for all the helpful advice! I started strength training less for the calorie burn and more so for the latter. I'm finding that the format of the workouts are a little awkward because I do need to change my weight for each exercise. For example, one set is composed of two exercises (a squat and a…
