My daughter was sitting in my lap and said, “You’re not so squishy anymore.”

I've started feeling cold again. I was always warm due to the extra insulation, but I've had to turn up the heat recently and wear long pants.

Two on one day. Went to pick up my son’s friend for a sleepover. Haven’t seen the mom in 6 weeks or so. She saw me and said, “Wow, you’ve lost a lot of weight. Like a lot.”

My doctor took me off my blood pressure and cholesterol meds.

Let's get this back on the petty track: My brother apparently started trying to lose weight a while back without telling anyone. He got all defensive when he saw my weight loss. Made a comment how he's lost about as much as I have. My dad knew the actual numbers and sarcastically replied, "Yeah 30 pounds is really close to…

I’ve lost 45 pounds and my blood pressure on the higi machine at the grocery store has been 90/60 for about a month. And my sodium has been off the charts high some days. Weight loss and exercise will do more for bp, cholesterol, blood sugar, laundry list of other things than any special diet.

In my experience, it's easier if your schedule already has you getting up fairly early for your normal day. I have to get up to get the kids out of bed for school every morning anyway, so I put all my running stuff in the bathroom so I can change first thing. Then I wake them up, get them moving and drink coffee. When they…

I broke 200 this week. My most recent non-weight goal has been getting to family Thanksgiving and being the skinniest adult male there. Yes it's petty, but it's working.

I was captured by a Barrow Wight this morning

Overnight oats with chia and raisin. Fresh pineapple. Coffee.

One I found the other day was a crockpot recipe that had me cook everything and then put it in the crockpot. Not just sear the meat, but brown the onions, combine and cook sauce components, blanch some other stuff. Do they not understand the purpose of crockpot cooking is to toss it all in and leave home?

Bought new pants that were 2 sizes smaller than 5 months ago and they're loose. Got a haircut and they accidentally used my son's card instead of mine. 6 months ago, my head would ahve looked like a pear with my hair this short. Doesn't look bad.

3.25 mile walk this morning. Trick or treating with the kids tonight.

Tried on a size large jacket the other day and it was loose.

Left out a key component. No chest strap. They suck and I hate them and they've never worked for me.

I’m metro Atlanta area. Just hit the halfway point on my goal. My wife thinks it’s crazy that my goal weight is my weight when I graduated high school.

It depends. I weigh fruits and vegetables, but I have a close enough mindset if it goes over a couple tenths of an ounce or a few grams. For tonight’s dinner, I weighed out noodles, took half of that, cooked it, weighed it again. So I knew “exactly” what a cooked serving would weigh. That’s what I do with proteins as well.

Made something today. First instruction, ingredient that wasn't listed. Also, there was no amount listed. So I checked the recipe comments. First question/comment was "How much milk?" Response, "Enough to moisten." About threw my laptop at that one...

I had half my son’s small fry (by weight) and regretted it.

My daughter wants Arby's tonight, last I heard, so maybe instead of the small sandwich and salad, I can splurge for the double beef and cheddar with jalapeno bites...

I've been swapping in whole wheat flour when I can. Trying to find a chia pudding she'll eat but that has been a bust so far. Going to try making the pudding then putting it in the blender with some frozen strawberries. I did discover that her love of any plain pasta extends to whole grain/wheat pasta as long as there's a…

No it was the "You are suffering from guano psychosis, and I'm going to have you committed." look.

I have been accused of being obsessive with my weighing (weighing grapes, half an apple, etc etc). I weigh everything in a recipe. I use USDA and then select the highest calorie count option. I will put in quick add calories anytime I find myself grabbing 1 potato chip out of a bag without thinking (though this happens…

Overnight oats made with Greek yoghurt, almond milk, honey, and raisins. Egg white bites with mushrooms, pepper jack, and turkey sausage.

Whenever I see something like that on a recipe site, I flag it as inappropriate. At least on the sites that allow it. Whether they rated it 5 stars or 0. The site I use the most, I use the review section to leave myself notes for the next time I see the recipe. That way if there was a glaring mistake, I know not to make it…

As someone who has grabbed a hot pan handle that was recently out of the oven, sometimes we need reminders. Though I did start putting the pot holder glove over the handle instead of on my hand for things like that.

I linked MFP to my health app as a test and it gives me about 1.5 calories per 100 steps. So either sedentary is basically bedridden, or there’s something wrong with step counts.

I meant this post as not are they true but what weird thing have you heard that seems logical but you don’t think it’s true. Occurred to me that wasn’t clear.

I always wonder whose recipe it really is... I had one that called for 1/2 a clove over the weekend. My wife and I decided that they know you're going to use however much garlic you want anyway, so they just put in something. Or it's like how MFP has changed 4 cloves of garlic to 40 on me when I put in something to…
