Well, today was supposed to be day 2 of my week 1 5K training program. Unfortunately, I didn't plan the timing of things out too well and it was too dark to do anything outside near me. So, I did something different, an indoor YouTube c25k video. Definitely a different kind of workout than doing it outside. The one I did…

@skippygirlsmom Yeah, the Penguins 6.6k is sponsored by the Lemieux Foundation, so of course it makes sense!

I'm in Bethel Park, PA, which is in the South Hills suburbs of Pittsburgh. Lots and lots of hills here!

Hi! I'm Ray, I'm from the Pittsburgh area, and I'm brand spanking new to running. I used to be someone who never ever ran. But, I've been walking as part of my weight loss routine since the beginning of September, and I've been working towards a 20 mile overnight walk in NYC the first weekend of June. Just for the grins, I…

Hello everybody! My name's Ray, and I live just south of Pittsburgh. I'm just getting started on a training program to be able to run my first 5K. My very good friend @Becky_44 suggested I come over and join you all. I'm being very conservative in my goals here, because this is the very first time I'm actually running.…

Hi all! Nothing better than a gathering of fellow geeks! I'm about 67 lbs down on a journey to eventually make it all the way back to my high school weight of 155 - which would represent a total loss of more than 200 lbs from start. I'm originally from Central NY State, but relatively recently moved to the Pittsburgh area.…

Hi all! I'm 42 and when I started in September I was 355 and I had an initial goal of losing 180 total lbs by September 2017. So far I've lost 65 and I'm below 300 for the first time in 10 years. I've done many cycles of the weight loss thing, but this one I think might be the one that sticks, in large part because of the…

Hi all! I'm 42, living outside of Pittsburgh. I'm about 60 lbs down on a total goal of 180 to lose. I'm always willing to support friends.

Checking in for today - 3.06 miles in 1 hour 1 minute. Much better walk than yesterday's, despite it being just as cold and the terrain being much hillier than it was yesterday. Dressing appropriately is definitely the trick!

OK, just finished with today's walk - 2.2 miles in 43 minutes. It actually bums me out, because I'd planned on going for twice that when I went out, but I was barely able to finish this. I was totally wiped from this one, and I'm not 100% sure why, because what I did do was my "I'm short on time" normal walk. Could it be…

Hello all! I just found this thread, but I'm definitely in for this month. I walked 4.14 miles in 1 hr 22 minutes yesterday. I'm gonna set myself a goal of 62 miles for January.....with how cold it gets up here in the Pittsburgh area in January, I'm gonna need all the motivation and accountability I can get!

I've got close to 200 lbs to lose - my initial goal is a loss of 180 lbs, from a starting weight at the beginning of September of 356. So far I'm down 50 since then. I'm giving myself a large timeframe to do it in, goal date of September 15, 2017, but with luck and some support I'll make it long before that. Feel free to…

I'm always open to help with motivation (and need some myself to keep myself accountable and on track), so feel free to add me.

Hi! I've been using MyFitnessPal since the beginning of September and I've lost close to 50 lbs since then. I've done the weight loss thing a bunch of times in the past and every time I've gained it back and then some. I've reached the point now this time around that's right around where things start going bad, so I need…
