I'm not new to MFP or to this specific group, but I've been away a long time. Yes I think I am a food addict and a stress eater. I eat to get through the day, promising myself that if I do a few hours of work I'll reward myself with a bag of cookies or chips. Once I start with those kinds of foods I have a hard time…

Hi! I'm 52 and have about 50 pounds I want to lose. I've been losing and gaining the same 10 pounds for about 20 years now and I'd really like to break that cycle. I have a wonderful family, my husband and two kids are normal weight and get terribly bored by me talking about food (or anything else really) so I really need…

Thank you all!! I am so new that I'm not sure how to add friends, I will try to figure that out.
-
Thank you :-)
-
And by the way, congratulations on your success so far, you are doing great!!
-
Good luck.

Like everybody says, every day is a new start. I also tend to eat when I'm stressed. Try to find another outlet, maybe a warm shower or a walk. Making myself a really good cup of coffee or tea helps me. I wish you peace!

Try low calorie fat free hot chocolate or pudding cups for the chocolate craving. Eat or drink it very slow. And I agree with the posters above, throw out or give away the junk and just don't have it in the house. Good luck, after a week or two without it you aren't going to want it as much, I promise!

So does this mean if we walk with an iPhone we should not count the walk separately under exercise because MFP already adds the steps automatically?
-
Thank you and congratulations on your own awesome achievement!!

I have the same problem. Also I tend to binge on those foods. I'm only two weeks at this so I'm not really an expert but so far I've just eliminated those trigger foods from my life and I'm trying to use other distractions like music and really good coffee or tea... Good luck, friend me if you like and maybe we can…

Good job!!! I'm nearly at two weeks, one day at a time right?
-
I'm 52 and in my second week here.. Your story sounds a lot like mine, I'd like to be friends!
-
Protein! A little goes a long way.
-
I did my three walks, and boy was it hot today. I hope everyone else is doing great.
-
So glad to hear that you had a good day! My iPhone tracks steps but it doesn't seem very accurate... But I got the first of my three half hour walks in yesterday anyway. Good luck to everyone today!

Hello 4JOann! I'll be happy to cheer you on, it's so important to have support. I wish you a peaceful and balanced day!

Hello! I will also try to write once a week, you can be my new accountability buddy if you are willing. I really admire your commitment regarding tracking steps. I have not found a good tracker yet that seems to be very accurate, what do you use? I know that I sit too much and every day I promise I will go for a walk but…

I've been back to tracking for almost a week and it has been working well. Today was really the first time I felt hungry... And I ate too much at dinner because I didn't want to put just a little back in the fridge, how dumb is that! Now I feel too full and I'm annoyed with myself. I hope I was doing well enough the rest…

I love the idea above to ask for a box right away at the restaurant and put half the meal in it before eating. I'm definitely going to do that from now on!

I'm only 52 but I feel much older, does that count? I have exactly the same problem as you've described :-) I also overeat (binge eat sometimes) from stress.....Maybe we can swap some healthy recipes.. Or just help motivate each other! I've never been slim but now I'm more than 200 pounds and also feeling it in my joints…
