Just got caught up with everyone and the last 84 posts on this thread! Britt, seems to me that you are a little all or nothing like you mentioned. I think moderation in all things is best IMO. I think when we are too restrictive, either with types of foods or by doing extended fasting, that can cause a lot of problems.…

Donna, Going low carb does help with controlling the appetite but it also has to be adapted to the individual. I have a very hard time going low carb and will have a major carb binge if I try it too long. I do best just not eating much sugary stuff (I allow beans, whole grains, fruit, milk) but even that I don't completely…

Keep it up Tracey! Be careful all getting too aggressive. You can have some backlash from that sometimes!
-
Sorry about your husband. It will pass, just stay positive!

Doing OMAD brings with it a lot of discipline and changes in the way you approach eating even when not doing OMAD. You will and are picking up some good habits. Congrats! I'm within 3-lbs of my lowest weight (CW 196, lowest 193, starting 252) in the last 2.5-yrs so maint can be done!

Thanks! Went for a 6-mile hill run at the base of the mts this morning and did fine tell 4.5-miles then bonked hard. Ate just some coconut oil before I went. Was not enough. I think doing 2mad for awhile has made me more of a carb burner than a fat burner and I can tell when i run. Will need to adjust a little to make sure…

You may try supplementing with coconut oil and/or corn starch 30-min before your rugby match. It will not spike your blood sugar which would then drive your insulin high and then drive your blood sugar low causing you to bonk in the match. It will also slowly release energy to feed the brain and allow the stored glycogen…

LC is a one time thing for whoosh. It will help you slowly lose fat also but the big whoosh is due to dumping glycogen and the water that is used to store it. Once gone you get no more whooshes and once you eat carbs back, you get the opposite affect and will overnight gain a couple of lbs. I think it is a good tool to…

Very nice, you are progressing well!

Lost 1-lb last week and am at 196. Still 3 over my low but I only did OMAD 1-day last week so not bad. I went up to about 198 (couple of weeks ago) and am settling down even though have been doing 2MAD. I think I may do 2MAD 5xweek and OMAD 2xweek for a couple of weeks and see how that goes. I'm not gaining and am actually…

Congrats on a great month, hope you gave another!
-
Way to go! You are doing awesome!
-
Good job!

Thanks all, ran the 5k today but had an off day. I was having allergies, ran fasted except some corn starch (probably shouldn't have done that since haven't been fasting for awhile), and didn't get much sleep last night, and I've missed tng due to gout. I was about 50 sec slower than a month ago. I ran 27:46 which is…

a calorie deficit guarantees fat loss but there are many ways to get a deficit. You can count or not but you still need to get to a deficit. Good luck
-
Sounds good. I need more recovery time for my feet or I would go 4 or 5-days a week. Keep up the good work!
-
I run 3xweek and in the last two weeks I went on runs of 1,2,3,4, and 4.5-miles. Before that I missed about 1 1/2 weeks where I only got in about 3-miles total. So I'm about where I was when I left off (5.5-miles). I would like to work up to at least 6 and maybe even 8. I'm adding about 1/2 a week now. Thanks. How many…

Well haven't posted in a while so here goes. Have had off/on gout issues but not too bad and have been able to run. I'm up to almost 5-miles now in my runs. Due to having gout and eating more meals to take meds, I've really fallen out of the OMAD habit. The first 3-weeks of March I was part timing it and the last two weeks…

Be careful. I think the body can be forced to try to hold on to everything if we get too aggressive.
-
Way to go folks! Stay at it and you will get there!
-
I've had one kidney stone. It was NOT good. I couldn't even talk. Wish you the best and congrats on 122!
-
Way to go on the 5k Jim. That is a great improvement. What is your running schedule? What type of workouts are you doing? I'm running one this Thursday so wish me luck!
-
I don't eat them for prevention, but I have for helping with an attack. Thanks.

Was looking at some old pics and found a funny old Halloween one. I post this to show a before gut pic. No, there were no pillows involved. Man I'm glad I don't have that anymore!
-
That is awesome! congrats.
-
Congrats on your loss! Keep up the good work!
-
I think I may have tried coffee once in my life but I'm not sure.

You MUST lose as much as a calorie deficit. That will never change. The energy you expended has to come from somewhere. You can possible lose more than that though do to other factors. You can ONLY gain as much as a calorie surplus. That will never change. You might gain less though due to not using it all. Good luck!
-
You will lose that back on OMAD in 2-3 days!
