Intermittent LC or Carb Scheduling (whatever this is called)
I don't have a medical condition that requires me to go LC and I love carbs but am trying to use it as a tool for weight loss. I'm an IFer and typically do a 20:4 schedule. I also run 3xweek. My plan for LC is to eat normal carbs nights before I run so I'm a little better fueled while doing my runs after a 19-hr fast (I do…

Under 200!
Was 199 this morning. Lowest in about 22-years. Started at 256 (male 6' 1/2", 56-yrs old). Used 20:4 IF to lose and 16:8 with low carb lunch for maintenance. Lost most of the weight in the first 5-months, then maintained for about 1-yr & 7-mos. This last month lost 11-lbs. Want to lose about 20 more lbs.

UCAN Super Starch Experience
I've lost my of my weight (about 43-lbs) doing a 20:4 IF diet (sw 252, cw 209, still have 30-lbs to lose at 6' 1", age 55). I've tried working out fasted, both running and lifting weights. I would usually bonk at about 35-40 min into a distance run and almost immediately when trying to lift heavy. This has been my…

Intermittent LCHF
There are various reasons to go LCHF: pain management, diabetes, weight loss, etc. For those mostly interest in just weight loss, what do you think about this type of a program. Eat breakfasts and lunches with very little to zero carbs (if those meals are eaten). But allow moderate carbs for dinner. This would help…

Home Made Fridge Pickle Recipe
Seems like pickles are a mainstay here! I love this recipe and can prepare a batch of pickles in a few minutes, ready to eat the next day. 8 larger or to 10 smaller firm, fresh Kirby (pickling) cucumbers (I use 3-large pickles for a pint jar) 3 teaspoons kosher, coarse or pickling salt (if using a featherweight brand such…

Protein Question
I'm 6'1" male and weigh 210. I have about 165lbs of lean body mass. I lift twice a week and run 3 times a week. I'm shooting for 150g of protein a day. I don't think that quantity is too much and should not cause me problems (kidneys) but if I eat some of it alone without other food, is that bad or should it be buffered…

I'm staring a 5:2
I've done a 20:4 with some 16:8s sprinkled in for a long time. I've lost 42 lbs. I've never limited calories and ate tell full in eating window. I work out 5-days/week and am taking protein supps to keep up with the workouts. Lately I've taken blood glucose readings in the mornings and they are high (120's). I experimented…

Part Time LC
Lately my waking bg has been higher than I like (110-120) and got a 130+ and a 140+. I am doing a 20:4 IF diet and lately eat about 50-60g protein and don't limit carbs but don't eat much refined sugars (140 and 130 reading were after eating sugary stuff night before). I used to eat whey and would take in 100g protein/day…

Keto Question
What are the macro ratios I should be shooting for for a keto diet. I'm 6'1" male, 210 lbs. Probably 30-lbs overweight. Also how much sodium do I need to take? I do a 20:4 IF diet. If I eat all the protein I'm supposed to in my small eating window, will it kick me out of keto? What kind of losses do people usually…

My no-to-little sugar experiment
I started a 21:3 IF diet Sept 2015 at 6'1" 252. I would eat all foods in my eating window and usually topped it off with a sugary desert. I also did cardio about 3-4 times a week and weights twice a week. I ended up losing 42lbs (210). I then did a 16:8 for a while and ended up gaining back about 10 lbs (220-I was hobbled…

CICO
I'm starting this to discuss the complexities of the body turning CI into fat and the elimination of fat due to CO. Since fat accumulation is a complex function of CI and fat dissapation is also a complex function of CO, the simple model of fat rate = CI - CO is not a perfect model. It is a good simple model that is very…

5 (16:8) / 2 (21:3)
Anyone tried that combination? That's my plan when I lose 20 more lbs. I've lost 40 so far in 5 months on a 6 (21:3) / 1 (16:8) diet. I eat ad libitum in my eating windows.

Rate Limited Fat Absorbtion with OMAD?
I have a question. Since the body is rate limited in producing enzymes to support fat storage, does eating in a small window (high calorie input rate) result in the body not being able to convert all the temporary excess cals into fat that are above the rate limit level that can be supported? I've asked questions like this…

Power vs Energy
If a person walks a certain distance, the energy expended getting there is the same no matter how fast you go to get there. If you get someplace fast, the power level you operated at to get there was higher than if you went slower but the energy expended (cals) is the same whether you go fast or slow. How does going faster…

Former skinny athletic guy. Weighed 145 at age 16 at current height (by drivers license). 155 to 160 in college and ran track (3.5% body fat freshman year by caliper measurements). I was a big eater and was always trying to gain weight. Then age, more school, kids, volunteer work, basketball injuries (torn acl 3 times),…
