  • I use veggies (courgette, pepper, mushrooms maybe some lentils if you're looking for added protein) instead of mince them make my own 'cheese' sauce using nutritional yeast and oat cream mixed with some plant milk (much lower cal than animal milk) -but I dont eat any animals product so easy for me to say. Also, for extra…
  • Rather than leaving the house, could you do some HIT work out videos at home? Loads of free ones on YouTube. Take it at your pace. Find one that's suitable for your level... I'd also recommend some mindfulness. I suffer with anxiety always and depression sometimes, and I've found foing 15 minutes of meditation is helping.…
  • For me, keeping busy works. Particularly going for a run/walk. Turn music up or just take in the sounds around you and focus on breathing if you want a bit of mindfulness. Your burning calories rather than consuming them. Double bonus.
  • I got from 11 stone 3lbs to 9 stone 2 lbs in 3 months. Kept it off for a year and then put 10lb over Christmas. So hence being back here, buts it's totally possible it just takes a lot of effort.
  • Roll your foot over a can (of Coke or a tin of beans). Wear heels as much as possible.
  • I managed to gain 8lbs over Christmas period, but after restarting my calorie deficit on news years day, drinking loads of water and exercising (running, cardio) I have lost it all and then some (now down to my lowest weight). The body is a boggling device.
  • Definitely eating the calories. I weigh everything digitally. And then I round up when i enter into MFP. I'm 5.2ft also. I weigh 132 lbs currently. 1200 is minimum but it only take me to 1310 calories (without exercise) with a 500 cal deficit. If I reduce the deficit I will do it gradually so not to shock the body too…
  • I have Fitbit HR. I've been back at the gym for 2 weeks.
  • Have you been to Physiotherapy? I had this and after regular exercising of my foot and strengthening as well as insoles it gradually went. I do now suffer with knee problems but that's less painful!!
  • So at 28 years of age, 22% -25% would be a better goal. In which case, if only loose min 3% body fat, which isn't a massive amount. Considering I've already lost 3% in 4 months. Will this make a big difference to how I look (more like perceive myself)?
  • I go to a gym where the fitness instructors are your personal trainer wherever you need them. I do cardio (treadmill, cross trainer and rowing machine) alongside strength training (big muscles like leg press etc). This will be 2/3 times a week. Then I will do Zumba once a week and Les Mills Pump class once a week.
  • Thanks for this!!! I struggle with patience sometimes. Need a good shaking at times.
  • Thank you for this. Basically I was basing my goal on pictures of stomachs that I would like. I ideally want a flat, toned stomach with no wobbly bits. Would I achieve this at a higher body fat %??
  • So, the only way I would achieve would be to hit the gym hard, almost everyday? I do intend to drop another stone or so but want to focus on what I look like not what the scale says?!?
  • Exactly that. Yes.
  • My diary is open... I am 28, currently 132lbs. 5ft 2.
  • I lost thAt weight since September this year (3 months). My calorie allowance has always been the minimum (1200) as i am short!! I tried upping it to see if that made any difference (1330) but it didn't.
  • Pardon me? VLCD. ??? Imo??????
  • I did slimming world then changed to calorie counting. I lost half a stone in 3 months doing slimming world. I've lost 1 and a half stone in 2 months by calorie counting.... It's the only scientific way to loose weight!!!
  • Thank you for your advice guys!! I always spread my consumption throughout the day, and my urine is a healthy colour. I feel fine in myself and can get headaches easily if I don't drink enough water!! Thank you
  • Yeah, my post was deleted for some reason. I've edited my post to include question... Thank you
  • I wrote more than that and it disappeared!!! My question was as I ate too much but exercised a lot by climbing mountains... However I have put on 4lbs in 3 days. Could this be water retention as I didn't drink enough water? Will I loose this again quickly? Thank you
  • Thanks, this is helpful!! Firstly, what is LBM? And secondly, how often and long would you recommend 'weight training' each week? I did a body pump class once a week which was an hour long... Will start that again...
  • Like I said, I walk everyday. This includes hill climbs and I regularly walk up mountains at the weekend. So fitness is not the issue. It's the toning I was asking about.
  • That is the goal MFP has MFP has set my daily calorie intake at 1200 to loose 2lb a week, most days I log around 1100 after accurately logging. I find that easy and I am satisfied. So long as I am eating more than 1000 calories MFP is happy, and I'm happy because I'm loosing. I'm not obese, and after loosing a stone, I am…
  • Today I am logging my progress: Start weight: 142 lbs, Today's weight: 140lbs 2 pound loss. Very happy. My determination to change and become the image I crave to be is in full swing!!!
  • I am aiming to CHANGE my weight, so I loose the body fat I have gained in my 20's. Hoping to be fitter and more alert by exercising more.
  • Definitely in.... I am currently 142 lbs, aim to loose 2 lbs per week. So I'm very similar to your goals. (16 lb weight loose by Novemeber 31). Target: 126lb by date. Good luck!! I shall check in again in a week!!!
