Water retention

So this weekend I had a 'weekend off'. My partner and I went for a romantic getaway and he asked me to marry him!!
I ate far too much but climbed up a mountain (20,000 steps). When I weighed myself today I've put on 4lbs. Could this be water retention as I didn't drink enough water? Will I loose it again quickly?

I wrote more than that and it disappeared!!! My question was as I ate too much but exercised a lot by climbing mountains... However I have put on 4lbs in 3 days. Could this be water retention as I didn't drink enough water? Will I loose this again quickly? Thank you

Def water retention... Theres no way you gained 4lbs of fat in 3 days. Just drink more water, get your sweat on and it will be gone in no time!0

yep, most likely water retention which usually drops back off within a week in my experience.

Congrats!! You can definitely gain that in water weight. If it makes you feel better, I've lost 5lbs since Monday in water weight.0
