  • Similar to @mmultanen I am a sort of accidental faster, no real science behind it, I'm just not really hungry most mornings. I generally eat a 2 egg omelette with spinach, tomatoes, bacon and cheese at around 11.30/midday and that sees me through until dinner at around 7.30. I'm rarely hungry or tired anymore, although if…
  • Really back in the swing of things now. Carbs and calories on track since Monday. Weighed in today and have only gained 1lb which considering that its TOTM and that I've seriously undereaten for the preceeding week, I am taking as a win.
  • 5/1/17 - 163 11/1/17 - 160 18/1/17 - 162 24/1/17- 157.5 1/2/17 - 158 8/2/17 - 155 15/2/17 - 152 22/2/17 - 153 I'm OK with this, last weeks loss was down to stress and simply not eating enough. Given that, coupled with TOM, I think a 1lb gain is pretty good going! 3 more Wednesdays to my birthday and 3 lbs to lose to…
  • I believe it comes down to personal preference. I tend to eat a late breakfast (around 11am) as I'm just not hungry in the mornings, then dinner at around 7.30 in the evening. I eat a predominantly LCFH diet so I'm fairly fat and protein heavy which possibly helps me avoid hunger. If I am hungry I'll grab a snack, I'm not…
  • Given myself a shake, didn't realise shark week was looming which explains a lot of my carby cravings, got my house in order on a personal level and am now firmly back in the saddle. 2 strong days of LCHF under my belt - 7 more to not F up!
  • Sounds like week 3 is going better for everyone! Hooray! I'm still F'ing up but at least I'm owning. I'm already carb/sugar heavy today (looking at a <60g rather than my planned <30g ), however I WILL drink my 2l of water.
  • 5/1/17 - 163 11/1/17 - 160 18/1/17 - 162 24/1/17- 157.5 1/2/17 - 158 8/2/17 - 155 15/2/17 - 152 Heading in the right direction although not really for the right reasons - need to up my intake.
  • My means are far from scientific as I'm not completely meticulous about my nutrition and haven't had any proper stalls, just short periods with no/minimal loss, however, anecdotally I tend to notice bigger losses around a week after upping my carbs slightly (i.e. 30g up to 70g) for a day or 2. That said, I don't find it…
  • Definitely, my energy levels balanced right out, skin improved and I lost my cravings really quickly. Enjoy!
  • Not enough food or water, but a good macro split on what I did manage. I also finally broke my exercise dry spell and have (hopefully) secured a new house! I'm countiing it as a good day.
  • I'm just a shade under 5'11" current weight 155lbs and I wear a UK 12-14. At my heaviest (175lbs) I still wore a UK 14. I'm pretty well proportioned but have a 36" inside leg so trousers are a nightmare and my hips and tummy are always the last place to slim down. Here's hoping that my last 5lbs will get me safely into a…
  • That's great! Well done. My magic number is 70kg (11st)....I'm borderline at the moment but once I make it, it will be the 1st time since having babies in 2009!
  • Thanks all. Really appreciate all of your kind words. Day 2 of project eat some food is done. It was a little bit carby (can't say no to a roast potato!) but there was no junk and I'm feeling good for the next few days. Sounds like most of us have had a few F ups. I'm all for resetting the counter!
  • I'm not strictly keto but mostly try to stick under 50g carbs/day. I can't say I've noticed much effect on my mood however there have been plenty of other benefits; In general I am far less lethargic, I no longer have energy slumps in the early afternoon (which I have had for at least 7 years up to now). I sleep better. My…
  • Thanks all. It's pretty crappy but life goes on. I've come through worse...and I wasn't this light when I did it. I don't want to lose momentum or give myself excuses. Luckily 2 kids, work and life will keep me busy, I just need to remember to nourish myself properly.
  • My relationship ended very suddenly early last week and I haven't really taken care of myself at all since. I spent most of last week messing up, massively undereating in terms of calories and yet still managing to go over my carb goal on 2 days. That stops today. I've had a weekend with good friends and family and I'm…
  • @suzc11 82g or fat translates in to higher calories (around 738kcal) than the 94g of protein (around 376kcal), so you'll still be getting more fat than protein
  • I used IIFYM.com - you can tinker with the percentages and deficit and it breaks down the calories clearly. I'm 5"11 with a SW of 175lbs, CW of 155lbs and a daily calorie goal of around 1450 (I'm very sedentary). My goals are set at 10% carbs/65% fat/25% protein - I rarely hit those numbers exactly but those somewhere…
  • I F'd up. It was a super stressful day but that shouldn't be an excuse. Water was way down, I ate crumpets (2!) and a chocolate biscuit which totally annihilated my carb goal. However, stress meant that that was pretty much all I ate. Today I will look after myself better...
  • Throughout Feb I have mostly been eating 2 meals a day, I have been under on my calories most days but am rarely hungry. I'm trying to add in more fat (butters, oils etc) to keep my calories up without adding bulk which I don't feel I need.
  • It's been a good few days health wise. Weighted this morning and I'm 3lbs down. Calories and carbs are staying consistent, water consumption has tailed off a bit so need to bring that back up (but still an improvement on January's effort!). All in all no F ups so far
  • SW - 175 5/1/17 - 163 11/1/17 - 160 18/1/17 - 162 24/1/17- 157.5 1/2/17 - 158 8/2/17 - 155 GW - 150 Having a super strict Feb is paying off. Every lb gained over Christmas has now gone!
  • Hi Ray - are you UK or US based? A lot of hotels/restaurants put their menus online, have a look at where you're staying and see if they have some good options before you hit the road (steak or salad is pretty universal!), if not personally I'd stop at a supermarket on the way and stock up on cooked meats, cheese portions,…
  • Hi All, I eat LCHF too. Been eating this way for around 8 months (apart from at Christmas!) and love it. I try and keep to under 50g of carbs/day - my diary is open, feel free to add me or have a nose around my diary! The Low Carber Daily Forum is a great group full of lots of information if you're new to low carb living
  • So far so good! I've been a fair way under my goal of 50g of carbs/day all week, managed not 1 but 2 litres of water for the past 3 days, haven't talked myself into any treats ("it's only 1 square....I'm under my carb allowance" etc). Yesterday I even threw in a little bit of HIIT (a very little bit...but it's an…
  • Low carb on the go can be tricky - ready cooked sliced meats are a good choice, as are individual cheeses (babybel etc), the packs of nuts are a good option too (as long as you can portion control if you end up buying the 100g bags!). Co-Op do a boiled egg with mustard mayo snack pack as well as a pack of carrots and…
  • I'm in! January got slack towards the end... I'm committing to logging more strictly, keeping carbs under 50g and drinking at least 1l of water a day
  • I have managed a full week at work switching from coffee to herbal tea at 11am...now for the weekend!
