  • I was diagnosed with Non Hodgkins B cell Lymphoma 4 years ago. Found totally by accident.. went to hospital for kidney stone...CT scan caught the bottom of my lung, and voila there it was. Had surgery to remove it quickly because they thought it was lung cancer since I was a 40 year smoker. It was only after removal and…
  • I would love to join. Started at 272 two years ago. Got down to 185 and stupidly decided I didn't need MFP anymore. I'm now back up to 230 and terrified I'm going to undo everything. I've been to onederland and it's awesome. Want to get back. I tried to join but I don't think my request went through. I got a red line. Add…
  • I'd love to join. Took a long break from MFP and started gaining again. Was down to 195 now back up to 220. Need to put the brakes on before I end up back at 270. I'm in Addy, Wa.
  • I finally "came out" last week, and it has been freeing. My husband and I are both athiests, but work for a Catholic hospital, surrounded by people of faith, in a very small town, so it has been a very big deal for me to announce to all that I dont believe in their fairy tales. My hubby is not ready to do this for fears of…
  • I was diagnosed in august 2015 with cirrhosis and pre diabetes. My fatty liver had progressed to cirrhosis because I didnt take it seriously. I work in the medical field and have seen first hand what cirrhosis and diabetes can do to a person....I was terrified. Finally took it seriously and changed everything over night. A…
  • One year ago I was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver and prediabetic. A1c was 6.0 and I was 272 lbs. I work in a medical clinic and I work with diabetic patients so I know all the risks and severe health problems that develop with diabetes. I was totally floored and absolutely terrified that I may end up diabetic. I…
  • Me too. I always stop and think "is this cookie or icecream really worth it", when I know Im facing the dreaded scale monday morning. 9 times out of ten...its not worth it and my monday weigh ins are not dreaded so much anymore.
  • Me too please. I'd love to join
  • Last year at this time I wore a 24 pant and xxlg tops. Last week I was wearing my smallest pants...size 18 and I could shimmy out of them without unzipping them. Well time for new jeans. Went to the dept store and tried on 16s and they were too big to. Walked out with some darling capris in size 14. I haven't been a size…
  • Karen thanks for the welcome. I just felt I had to share my story. My first doctor 2 yrs ago casually mentioned, "oh you also have a fatty liver", but never, ever told me how serious it could get or how I could do something to reverse it. He made it sound like it was no big deal. I really never thought about it again till…
  • Gloria...my liver enzymes were through the roof 9 months ago. I was actually told a couple of years ago that I had fatty liver, but the doc never told me that it was serious, so fast forward to last august and it has now become cirrhosis and I better do something now. I changed my diet completely....no fat, sugar, or…
  • Hi all. Ive been on MFP since before christmas and I am so happy that I have finally found something that works for me. This community is awesome. A little background on me. I was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver last August and pre-diabetes. I was told if I didn't lose weight and change my life style I would be…
  • Im in. Need to lose 15 to 20 by August 21st. Im doing a 5k bubble run and I want to fit into my new running outfit. I look like a stuffed sausage in it right now.
  • Good healthy food is cheap. Oatmeal, rice, beans, eggs, yogurt, frozen veggies and frozen fruit, milk, chicken breasts....all relatively cheap and will feed you for a long while compared to what you pay for one fast food meal. You CAN eat healthy for not alot of money. Its just what you choose to spend your money on.
  • Ive lost 70+ with 50 more to go and I have noticed the skin is flappier under my arms and upper thighs. I have been using 3 pound dumbells to work my upper arms while watching tv in the evenings and I swear its helping some...maybe not, but they feel better and tighter. Also I have been riding my stationary bike alot and I…
  • Metallica, Godsmack, Disturbed, Megadeath, Linkin Park
  • You can add me too. I dont always eat right and maybe knowing someone will actually look at my diary and see what Im eating will be enough to motivate me to make better choices.
  • I agree with all your choices, except Alice is for my everymood. Welcome to my Nightmare fits my everyday life, sad to say.
  • Started running in August with c25k and I could barely run that first minute, now I run a mile without stopping...Woo Hoo!!! Who woulda thunk??? It feels great and Im finding I love running.
  • Hi..Im 53 and had a bad health scare in August. Was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver and told that if I didnt lose weight and start exercising I would be looking at a liver transplant soon in my future. Since August I am down 73 pounds with 49 to go and my liver is much, much happier. No more pain and I dont feel like…
  • My stealth excersise is roller skating. I can skate for 4 hours, burn tons of calories and its soooo much fun. Feel like a kid again!!!
  • I hit onederland last week and have 49 more to go...Woo Hoo!!!
  • Theres all kinds of stuff written about it on line. Its been around for ever, but we here in the west have only recently started hearing about its healthful properties. My doctor told me about it when I was diagnosed with fatty liver to help my liver detox and give me natural energy to help with my weightloss. I love it!!!
  • I gave up coffee too for the same reasons you stated. If I cant have it the way I love it....then forget it. Bank calories during the week to have my treat cup of coffee on sat and sun morn. None during the week and only have it on the weekends if Ive earned it...eating right, staying under calories and excersising. Its my…
  • I put $5.00 per pound lost in a jar and am planning a huge shopping spree when Im done. Not looking at prices...just buying what I like and looks good on me. Have already lost 72 pounds and have 50 more to go.
  • I just dropped my A1c from a prediabetic 5.9 to a very normal 5.4 in 5 months by cutting out all processed sugars...fruit only and a low fat, pretty much meat free diet. I do not drink any calories...gave up my coffee addiction cause I love full fat creamers, and went to strictly water and green tea. I started excersising…
  • From Spokane, Washington... watching Big Bang Theory
  • In theory I agree with you, but when you have been diagnosed with liver problems or in my case fatty liver/cirrhosis you can not have some of the foods you used to eat any more. No fat whatsoever, no alcohol, no sugar and very limited red meat. The liver is working too hard to rid your body of toxins because it has become…
  • You can have it all back and more, because this time you will appreciate it more. It is scary having a doctor tell you that you WILL get sick, you WILL need drugs, that you WILL end up in a scooter. It doesn't have to be that way. You're not there yet...yet. I have in the last month started roller skating with my grand…
  • You have to decide whats worth it in life...for you. Since August I have reversed my prediabetic A1c to a very normal, healthy number, I have begun to reverse the damage to my fatty liver and I have lost 69 pounds. I choose not to die because I cant control my eating. I choose to live what years I have left not being sick…
