  • Bottom line the longer you work the area correctly the stronger you will become. Taking over a year to get some strength in a area that has been in a weak state for years is not unusual. My GF still don't have a lot of upper body strength after almost two years but she has certainly increased it by a at least 70%. Like you…
  • I am dont get on the real bench press that much. Been more of a home gym guy unti recently. So was trying strict flat to arched and inbetween. Found arch made a huge difference but felt like i was cheating. True i should not have tried full weight in arch without enough practice.
  • Recently tired to arch to help to increase one rep max and it certainly does do that. Then this guy comes to me about careful how i do that and said better i stay flat to not injure by back. Then i see power lifters using this all the time. So a bit confusing it. Found it makes a significant dfference in one rep max though.
  • The women i see squattin in the gym almost all have really nice butts. Before and after my gf has very noticable improvement from a year and half ago. Not too forget she has probably x3 her leg strength in that time too. Squats appear to get real and nice results
  • My gf is like you. She loves squats and leg press. Many women seem to enjoy these. I dont mind leg press but squat i dont like motion so much. Lots of fit women in gym got stronger legs then guys like myself who have history of upper body focus and strength but not legs. Some women are the opposite.
  • Since this post i have also noticed you cant hang your hat on a comparable. Just yesterday friend of my gf tried squats with my gf. She good at the leg press and got big musculsr legs looking legs. She struggled with 115 pound squat for 5 reps but leg presses a 450 incline for 15 reps.no problem. Her press is about the…
  • One thing i was wondering with this unit. When i tried a 190 pound setting i found it much more difficult then expected compared to some other leg press machines. Either it is the design of this unit or maybe it has a flaw. Is this press generally more dificult with a comparable weight settings. Thats can be a good thing…
  • Yes but i hate squats lol. Seems like a good buy. It is harder for a same selected weight compared to the 45 incline
  • I weight 190 age 55. Last time i tried it was 285. The bench is my best lift though i need work on many other lifts especially lower body. My gf weighs 135 lb her best bench is only 85 at 45 years young but she got the stronger lower body.
  • You may be right. These are all new exercises to my eyes and i always forget the names. I Spent too many years with my home gym lol Her upper quads do pop out of her thighs. I thinks its looks sexy on her. She going to impliment a new routine starting monday.
  • The hip trusts i saw her doing were not really hip thrusts i dont think. That was two months ago. Dont see her doing the type in the video. What i saw was shoulders on floor and feet on bench or step stool lifting butt off ground. Similiar but told they target more the hamstrings. I ve tried her rountine with her. I got to…
  • I told her about looking up strong curves. I ll leave the rest in hers hands but i will in courage her. She asks me about her butt when i compliment her on her general body accomplishments. Don t really see her doing hip thrusts.
  • She had one in the beginning for 2 months Then saw another for about a month more recently. Right now shes doing high rep on everthing. 20 to 25 reps. 20 squats, lunges per side leg press entire ball of wax. I tried it and frankly i cant complete It to these 20 reps, its too exhausing lol. Her cardio fitness and lower bidy…
  • I think she looks great yes. She dont like her butt. She wants it fuller. It was flatter before and i see progress on depth and lifting. She dont see much change. To her its her weak area. She wants more balance from knee to upper thigh so more lower quad and vmo size. She wants more shape to her calves. Shes got natural…
  • Yours knees sound worse then mine. I only do goblet squats lunges , leg press but nothing heavy. Just started Deadlifts under so try under supervision if you can. Lots of women with gf included (not so much men) i see doing those hip trusts and standing up straight legged side and back swing kicks off the weighted pully…
  • I bet your hips are out of alignment. Happens to runners a fair bit.
  • Its ranks me high advanced in bench 87 percentile and beginner in squat 7 percentile. Advanced and beginner would be fair i guess for gym goers. For the overall population of which the vast majority dont do these exercises i would say my squat being beginner on these standards are in reality closer to the 50 percentile of…
  • Are these numbers based on a certsin level of training? Must be. I only did home upper body workouts for years. Only some cardio for legs so my number are embarrassing for squats. Due to my bad habits i bench about 265 but i can barely squat 145 max. I dont squat obviously. Puts me at like the 2% catagory. Seems a bit…
  • I think keeping your arms and elbows closer to your side is less strain on the shoulders. Start with knees on floor and shallow reps and build deeper reps. My gf could not do a single push up either year and half ago. Women tend to have weak chest and arm muscles from not using them in activities where some strength is…
  • Rainbow your squat level i cant do yet. You are doing great. Gee i always hear knees past toes was bad form. Nice to hear otherwise
  • Rainbow. Would that be a 45 degree press or a horizontal. I noticed the horizontal leg press i push much less and 200 pounds seems similiar to 400 on the 450 incline I did start with 95 pounds a year ago. Thought my form was good but video revealed my knees came a bit past my toes and i bent over to much. With 135 i was…
  • Friendly competitions can be motivating. Any lower body isometric exercise my gf is killing me on. This wall sit is one of them. Though on leg press which i doubt has much isometric qualaties we are even or i can go slightly heavier. She really loves the back squat now. My lower body flexibility or lack of needs to…
  • Bare foot or shoes thats fantastic time i would think. Much better then myself. Your isometric strength seems excellent. I got lot of work to do on that side. What other exercises help with achieving a great result.
  • It was recommended to me to start the wall sit and also told my isometric leg strength needs improvement. So i on my own tried the one leg version attempt. To my surprise it was 20 fold more difficult on my left and more then 30 fold om my right :(. But lunges i can do more with my right leg forward and left behind then…
  • Awesome response. Thanks Iike many have dont enough time for the many other exercises i should be doing. I certainly dont dedicate enough time to lower body so i tend to gravitate to what i enjoy more and better at. Its a flaw and one i ll need to change.
  • Correct Foot wear is a must. Muscle imbalances. Strong enough quads but weak hamstrings and vmo often related. I stopped running few years back cause of knee tracking issues and wear and tear. Switch to the bike and fast walking. I am over 50 so knees are past best years.
  • I think i depends on the type of leg press machine. 45 incline or horizontal etc. 45 incline you can do more then a horizontal type. There is one particular leg press at my gym (horizontal) i can only press about half that of a 45 incline. Depends on i was engineered. They vary so much.
  • The therapist got me to do these lateral leg raises that need to be in perfect form coming from the hip. Both from lying on my side and standing using rubber bands. The machines require both legs while the therapists exercises were isolated one side at a time. Are they not both hip flexor focused?
  • My GF comes come a Central American Country and will go without removing leg and arm hair during winter months at times. I dont believe going natural is common in many countries at all. Maybe those where the women dont have much body hair like in China. I don't find it unattractive at all. She is hairier then I thought…
  • Could be that you injured the area and did not know it. I injuried my hip and i can only go 5 min on the stepper and elliptical. Physio helped but I have to do the work if I want it to improve further. Apparently I have a relatively weak lower body so it's contributed to my problem. What other lower body strength exercises…
