http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/ If you're looking for a good resource to play with the numbers, Scooby's is very helpful, you can manually adjust for macros and exercise, just as you can on MFP, but it's a little quicker and easier and it's all on one page easy to see. Again though, I must stress that all…

My very first suggestion is to stop listening to Dr. Oz. Like ever. If Dr. Oz told me it was raining outside, I'd go check on that. Second cwolfman13 on just plugging into MFP and letting it do the math for you. I feel like you're trying too hard and maybe instead of feeling overwhelmed with macros right now, you could…

Every time someone complains about Obesity in America I hearken back to moments like this where even if you're trying your best someone somewhere is always trying to shove calorie-packed munchies at you.

To add to that, note that the time of day you weigh-in can have a drastic effect on the scale number. Surely you've heard of the oft repeated mantra of going to buy shoes in the evening rather than the morning? It's because you bloat with water throughout the day. You will typically weigh the least first thing in the…

Highly suggest and second the suggestion of resistance or strength training. Regardless of the wonderful benefits it has for the actual math of losing weight, I have to say the way it makes you feel ALONE is enough reason to do it. When I was losing the first time I didn't incorporate it at all and I had no idea what I was…

While I am inspired by your turn around, I don't think it's entirely accurate to say that age has no effect on weight loss. It certainly has no effect on CICO, so if that's what you meant, do forgive me and I withdraw my complaint, but as others have pointed out, there can be some lean mass loss directly attributable to…

Seconded for Zone Perfect bars. They don't pack as much protein per calorie as some bars, but they are delicious.

Because of my screenname I get a lot of bitching about how cardio is the devil and I need to do heavy lifting yesterday or I'm sabotaging myself. I've lost 30Ibs and increased in muscle mass.

Nah she's saying she is only 2 lbs loss away from getting under 200 scale.

If you're concerned about your fitbit overcalculating, here's some tricks you can use to get as close to spot on as possible: 1. Lie to it. Wear the fitbit on your non-dominant hand, but tell the app that you're wearing it on the dominant hand. This reduces the number of miscounted steps from non-step movements. 2. Tell…

As tinker bell said, MFP is designed for you to eat back your exercise calories. Most people seem to stick to only eating back about 50-75%, especially fitbit users, but for your health and safety, you should be eating at least that back. Your deficit is wildly overdone and while it might feel like an accomplishment to be…

I ask because I notice that yesterday you had 1300 some odd calories leftover and 1500 some odd were earned exercise calories. Any reason you're not eating some of those back? Or is this an atypical example of a day for you. If it's not, I second the too few calories thing as having a serious effect in your sleep.

When you say you always meet your 1200, you're including your exercise calories right?

I don't know if this will work for you, it's been very effective for me. I am not at all hungry in the morning. I don't start feeling it until 2/3 in the afternoon. So I don't eat until then. I have coffee or something else, usually caloric, to drink throughout that time, but I don't get into food until late. So by the…

I'm in Colorado so I'm already feeling your winter pain, I prefer the elliptical to the treadmill because I find it's easier on the joints and I feel more physical exertion much faster on the elliptical. Though I haven't specifically calculated individual work outs, my daily burns are higher when I do that instead of the…

Did no one read her whole post? She stopped taking the BC in October 2015. It's been a year folks. And while her hormones may not be the same as they were before BC, they are not so violently disturbed at this point that she cannot lose weight merely by eating fewer calories and burning more. I AM of the opinion that…

Paraguard Is non-hormonal. It is nothing more than a copper device that creates a chemical environment of mild inflammation in the uterus as well as scrapes the sides of the uterus so that an egg cannot implant and you cannot become pregnant. ALL of it has to do with changing your food, and possibly changing your output…

Your metabolism isn't broken. You just ate/eat too much food. If you have removed the initial problem that made you eat more or move less, in this case the BC, all you need to to is calculate how much you want to lose with MFP and eat the calorie amount it gives you for a while. The metabolism doesn't experience extreme…

On PC and Android, I see nothing. It's telling me to add friends, but I have 82 friends listed in my friends list, so I think it's just being nasty:(

Oh no I know, I was actually saying they probably have good intentions, like you were saying about wanting to spend time and whatnot. I was just also noting that even if their intent is the best, and even if they aren't actively aware they're sabotaging (which is further evidence the intent is good, cause if they knew they…

I dunno hon, the road to hell is paved with good intentions? I don't think anyone means to say for sure your family is trying too screw you here, but they are right that their actions aren't helping you lose weight. Have you sat them down and talked to them about why you're doing this and how important it is for your…

I think..... what you mean is that you imagine drinking water will make the scale go down eventually, and that is sort of true. Drinking lots of water after a hard workout or consuming a lot of salt or even being bloated from your period can help your body "let go" of the excess it is retaining, but it's not much in at…

Another vote for heavy lifting. It seems to be the biggest bang for your buck compared to any other method I've ever heard of. (some of them were complete woo, others legit, but still heavy lifting wins)

THANK YOU

THIS omg. There's no reason to suffer more than you already are. I think it was mentioned already, but eating at maintenance or a little over for a few days may well be the best. A few days won't derail your progress, weight loss is a months-long and sometimes years long procedure, try to let the days be as comfortable as…

And I'm a "being pregnant and not having periods was the best thing ever please lets do that again minus the baby" bisexual haha!! :)

Thank you. I wasn't out to take the convo off topic, and I really didn't mean to sound uppity about period skipping, it's not like I don't feel for OP, PMS appetite sucks. I just thought "if it was me" and something was making it harder to lose weight, and someone knew "hey you don't actually have to do that" I'd want them…

Yes, you pointed that out, and I disagree. It does apply here. I also explained why it does. I'm not offended. I just think you're wrong and wanted to explain exactly why.
