Thanks for the discussion everyone. Pardon the pun, but definitely food for thought. And yes, I think it is the blogs that post things about KETO.
-
[/quote] Yes you’re right about the kidney damage. But, my doctor told me that as a diabetic, it’s hard enough on the kidneys.
-
That is sooo true. I guess KETO IS THIS Generation’s Atkins.

Good morning. FBS 7.2 (130). With my pancreas being a 'war zone' as my specialist says, for me, anything below 10 (1800 in the morning is good. Everyone is different, as you can see. I had a snack last night around 7 of apple and peanut butter. That's what raised it this morning. Have a good day everyone.

After two months of dealing with pancreatitis, my nu,bets are getting back to normal. This morning 5.9🇨🇦 106🇺🇸

. If you can get to some diabetes education classes, they can help you with this. From what I understand, in USA, a good nu,her before a meal is between 90 and 140. Maybe someone can correct this if I’m wrong?

Get to a diabetes educator and dietician. 50 carbs a day are not enough. Low carb/high fat diets are dangerous for diabetics. Follow the plate method. Allow yourself a treat now and again. Being too restrictive is a recipe for failure.

I have been using the cross country hiking, but thought they meant a little more vigorous. I'll check again.
-
Yep, I've looked there, but it doesn't have the trails. But thank you. You're right though, I'm stressing over nothing. An hour walk in the forest or on a bike path is still an hour walk. Thanks.

Can you balance the rest of the meal around having a tiny piece of cake and ice cream? For instance, forgo any bread or other starches for dinner. Maybe for your breakfast have some protein and a piece of fruit.

6.7 (121)

6.8 (123). Good range for me.

Like me, ConleighS has other health issues with her pancreas. Lower than 100 can cause more problems than being in the 100 to 110 range for us.

You're really experiencing some low numbers. I hope you get things sorted out soon. 7.4(133) Any time I'm below 10 in the morning is a good day for me. My Endo says I'm doing fine, and I shouldn't expect 5's and 6's because of my pancreas. Anything below 5(90) and I'm quite shakey. Even a few times this week, when I was…

6.9 (124).
-
6.3 (114).
-
6.8 (123). Good morning all.

I have the same pancreas issues. My Endo has said my FBS, as long as it's below 9.9, I'm okay. Anything lower than 5, and I'm shakey and headachey. But, by all means, check with the doctor.
-
6.8 (123) this morning. A few hours later, after my coffee, 3.7(67). Very, very shakey. So, I had breakfast. More protein than carbs and it only went up to 3.8(68). So I had a Greek yogurt. But, on the good stuff de, I'm not feeling sick or in pain anymore.

Good morning all. 6.8 (123).

Here in Ottawa, and I'm sure a lot of other places, the pharmacies have a sharp container(usually free). When it is full, you bring it back and they give you a new one. Check your pharmacy or clinics in your area.

FBS was 7.9 (130). two hours later and a coffee 4.9 (88). I'm still feeling the effects of my binge.
-
Sorry I've been missing lately. just wasn't into the whole "oh I have diabetes, I better behave better" So, this morning my FBS was 4.4(79) which is way too low for me. So, I had a yogurt, and 15 minutes later it was 6.3(114). Much better. I've been off the rails with my food for the last couple weeks, and my pancreas is…

Thanks. Today, instead of a walk, I got my bike out, cleaned the rust off the chain, changed the battery in my odometer and headed out for a test run. I didn't get a lot of biking in last year because of pancreatitis and drainage tubes. I'm determined to make up for that this year. I'll just keep plugging along. Oh, and…

I haven't drank alcohol in nearly 20 years , only because I was worried about overdoing it like some of other family members. Now I know I can't because of my pancreas. I've been called a party pooper, but we have to do what's right for us. This morning. 6.8 (123).
-
9.7 (175), but 2 hrs later and a coffee 8.0 (144). I think I'll stop checking as soon as I wake up, and maybe just wait the two hours to check. Less discouraging.

I get headaches when it's too low. My evening snack was so carb heavy last night, today I pay. 14.3(258). It will go down during the day though, God willing.
-
6.5 (117). A nice walk in the forest yesterday for 1 hr, 45 minutes, carefully watching my carbs and evening snack, and it seems to have done the trick. I do have a headache this morning, but it should go away after my coffee. Have a great day!
-
8.4 (152) A little better today. I haven't exercised other than marathon shopping, and some housework the last two weeks. I've forgotten to drink water, choosing coffee or diet cola. I've snacked too late in the evening. So, all in all, I'm kinda happy with this number this morning. Doctor told me, as long as I'm not…

9.9 (178) this morning. That's the lowest in a week. I've been sick, and I must admit, out of control food wise. I get like that when I'm sick, go figure. Feeling better now, and have healthy food in my home now.
