my mini goal is tied to what I gave up for lent. No eating after 9 p.m. I go to bed so late and I always snack late at night. So far so good - and I feel better!

My body is fighting with menopause. My body wants to lose weight but menopause won't let it lol. I started eating clean and reducing my meat consumption. But what usually works for me is low carb. I can't live on salad and beans. I recently hurt my disc in my back, but can now walk and lift arm weights. I try to eat 1200…

I am 53 and going through menopause - I started eating clean for a few weeks and lost 3 pounds initially and by the end of two weeks was exactly the same. People commented though that I looked like I lost weight - which was weird. I felt different too - who knows. But I am convinced that although you need My Fitness Pal…

I'm 53 and going through menopause now and can't seem to lose a pound. eating 1200 cal diet but can't exercise due to a herniated disk. I can walk though but it's freezing outside lol - I can't imagine that faithfully sticking to a 1200 cal diet does not let me lose weight - this sucks. I even got my thyroid tested -…

I am with you - I recently lost about 16 pounds but since the end of August am just staying the same. Some would say that's great at least you're not gaining. But I honestly have totally changed the way I eat and I am staying pretty steady. But in reality I need to lost 30 more pounds. I am 52 and 158. I know if I got to…

Amanda - we have the same goal. just met the size 8 - my biggest achievement would be to get these "sauce arms" skinny and in shape as well as lose 30 more pounds. Feeling great that I lost 16 so far!

me too this week. I didn't even feel hungry and I only ate 1200 a day and did the elliptical. I think it has to do with the time of the month - I really do - I'm trying not to get discouraged and moving forward. I hope you do too :)

Same thing happened to me. I lost 12 pounds, was proud of myself, was working out too. Then at a family party a family member was passing around cake and before I even said yes or no they said "it's not fattening". Then another family member started talking to me about how to lose weight. They didn't even notice. Then…

it's a crazy train - off and on and off and on - who has the answer? lol - I guess just keep tracking

in the morning every other day works for me. others say to weigh less often, but I've tried that and I start to lose momentum in my weight loss efforts. everyone is different, but this seems good for me. good luck!

Thank you for that! I am trying - but that is awesome you lost 37 pounds - very inspiring. Good luck!

Congrats - thanks for the motivation :) - so happy for you

I drink something - like tea or seltzer or coffee. But when I want to indulge it always seems to be at a time when I have no more calories left for the day. I do it anyway in a small portion and track it. Just by tracking it for me anyway it makes me more aware and more confident to not do it so much. But I think we all…

I listened to my doctor when she said - cut back on your fat and carbs. I had high triglycerides and a mild fatty liver reading. I did this for a month and lost 10 pounds and blood work came back normal. I am keeping up with it as I need to lose 30 pounds. I have 50 to 75 carbs per day and about 20 grams of fat. I don't…

i have tried low carb low fat and it really works but after the first two weeks has slowed down. I eat 50 to 75 carbs per day and try to stay at 20 grams fat per day -it's pretty easy I have to say - you basically just can't have processed snacks - I have also lowered my trigycerides. I am staying on this because I feel…

I started reducing my carbs and fat pretty dramatically and got lightheaded/dizzy. When I started to put carbs a little higher it went away. But also wanted to post this because you are eating about as many calories as I did when this happened. Maybe it's too little calories.

please someone - explain clean eating to me. I generally get the concept but wonder if it is more involved than I think.

i still love reading them! Keeps me motivated - I am down another half pound - I'll take all I can get lol

I like pre-logging too - really works :) - thanks!

This app is great - what I needed to incorporate was lower carbs and fat. This seems to jump start everything. I limit myself to 50 or 60 carbs per day and 20 fat. When I did this, it melts off.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions! I really appreciate it. I have lost 9 pounds so far and it's mainly because of not eating after dinner. For me, it's better to just not eat unless I am too hungry. So I occupy my time with other things and look forward to sleep with my glass of water by my side, knowing in the a.m.…

I have the same problem - I find if I just put something in my mouth I can get by - like a cup of tea or water or a leftover veggie from dinner. It's hard though but I'm getting better at it with practice. I agree with the others - you should eat or drink something.

I'm 5 ft 2 and weigh 165. My first big goal is 135, would love to get down to 125. I'll see how I look and feel. Remember - muscle weighs more than fat :)
