@jcdoerr For a beginner, don't be afraid or too proud to scale the WOD. I'm lifting less than the girls right now but I'm not freaked out about it. I'm getting back into shape. WRT injuries, just be careful, know your limitations. Depending on your box and it's trainers use some common sense.

Welcome. You will finds lots of support here.

@bbwprincess2016 That's 15% of your bodyweight. That's a great accomplishment. You should be proud of your progress. I've known folks who have "cut themselves in half" and more so I know it's possible. Keep at it. Best regards, Jeff

@Sara1791 , No I was never OGR. Maybe an ogre sometimes to my kids, but not OGR.

@JeromeBarry1 , That's not my intention.

Nice work @brianrhillUK I've seen alot of folks have success. How are you eating? @kota4bye It's a little like riding a motorcycle, sooner or later you crash. Crossfit is similar, if not managed sensibly by the person doing it. i don't want to get into a bashing CF thread here. It's done a lot for me. I was in the first…

Ate paleo for a while after my first round of weight loss a number of years ago. It's not expensive. It's basically meat and vegetables, fat, some fruit and nuts. After Dr Cordain, Rob Wolf has really picked up the paleo baton. Worth listening to his podcasts, surf his site or read his book. I like Mark Sisson but when he…

I'm on an ultra low carb program too. Except I'm taking the easy way out. A friend of mine is a fitness coach for Take Shape for Life and they promote Medifast products. I'm on my third week. It does the same thing, get you near ketosis to burn the fat. It's also very calorie restrictive. Love bacon too, but I'm sticking…

Welcome Fran. Glad to have a pro on site! FR on its' way.

Welcome, I'm relatively new too. Finding out you get what you put in it. I'm just now starting to add some friends, discover I have a blank blog. Jeff

Same here, loose some weight, build (maintain at my age) muscle and lean out. You can all add me too. (btw, how do you do that?)

Congrats @trudiebamford. I gave up alcohol for about 3years because they (counselor) said you couldn't go cold turkey. About two years ago gave that up but now thinking about abstaining again. @FlabtoFab209 How is going?

Nice work and welcome. I used to be a pretty hard core crossfitter years ago and just recently joined a nearby box started by a couple of trainers I know. Having a blast. New here too, just joined (full time) about 3 weeks ago. Down 6lbs.

Nice work @FlabtoFab209. Before I say Day 1, let me finish the day. But I'll give it a try.

i use a vintage Timex HRM and track my crossfit WODs. So far I get 450-600 cals burned per workout. That's about 10/min.

I would agree with sceleratis, Starting Strength is a great place to start. I'm a big fan of strength training. you can do some conditioning work AFTER you do your lifting. For your strength work focus on the basic, push, pull, lift. Find something you like. there are a BAZILLION plans out there. Find something that looks…

Get off your butt and do it! I'd like some beef.

I'm in the 'burbs, Glen Ellyn. this is a good place, you will find alot of support here. What advice have you gotten about your T2 Diabetes? (my son is T1) best, JK

The one good thing about Medifast is that it's easier to get drunk! No calories in the diet, then a cocktail. BOOM!

Fantastic! Welcome Momhull23. That's great results. I'm new to this app and community too. Might be a good place. JK
