Just started following Jon Venus and he's got me super stoked about getting serious. I am recovering from a torn rotator cuff that I recently reinjured but hopefully that won't impact my weight lifting too much. Thanks guys your suggestions have been great!

I try getting my protein and calories from regular meals, that's where I've had the most success. What foods do you like to eat and what do you typically eat?

I would suggest learning to control the portions you give yourself at meal times, also try low calorie snacks between meals. Most of this will depend on your schedule, but like runnerbean said, it's the increased appetite that will influence weight gain. Try talking to your psychiatrist about your concerns they should be…

Thanks for the tips! I definitely complicated things by trying mostly raw foods. At this point I'm really wanting to revert to a vegan diet but increase the carbs drastically. Do you know of any other vegans on here?

Rawroy, I wasn't eating near enough calories while I was on a vegan diet, I was less than 6% bf and had just come back from some health issues. I'd say that about 15 pounds was just getting to my natural weight. With out my health issues limiting my appetite I've found I can eat as much as I want. I like that you get your…

I've been lifting a lot especially working my back and shoulders, I actually passed my goal weight by five pounds and seem to keep gaining. Should I continue bulking or start cutting calories?

You'd be good to go to the gym and increase your calorie intake. Sometimes the extra activity can trigger your body to crave more food. What are you doing currently as far as nutrition goes?

I'm 6'0 currently at 159.8 as of this morning. I've gained around 15lbs over the past two months but have been to the gym very little. I'm still trying to work around injuries (and recurring injuries) so I've decided to stay away from sports and focus only on weight training and flexibility. Also looking for accountability…

I love grains like rice and wheat pastas as well as potatoes & bananas. I'm excited to see another vegan on here! To be honest I think we have an advantage when it comes to gaining weight vs other diets, I've been vegan for about six months and I've had about a 15lbs weight increase. Try what you like as staples and then…

Greek yogurt is great, especially if you have it at your work place. I personally love whole wheat pasta, I eat lots of it. Besides the obvious meats and yogurts, there are many plant based proteins that are pretty packed with nutrition. It all comes down to what you like to eat, if you eat what you like it's easier to…

Bulking Calories 3800-4200 (very little meat & no dairy) so it takes more to keep up. @senecan I've been using lighter weights and body weight to build my form and let my body adjust to excessive again. I do chest and tris with legs on Monday, back and biceps/forearms on Wednesday, and shoulders, abs and legs again on Friday.

Thanks for the tips! As of now I'm hitting around 4,000 calories a day, yesterday was 4,800 but that because I went out to a Mexican restaraunt and loaded up. As for my macros I'm getting anywhere from 160g to 200 g of protein (with out protein shakes) and 600g to 700g of carbs. It's just recently that I've been eating…
