I'm well over 50, in menopause. I gained fat weight around age 50...not because of age, not because of peri-menopause etc, but because I was eating too much. Age doesn't make you fat... menopause doesn't make you fat. Eating more calories than you burn DOES make you fat (or gain weight if you prefer). I lost my fat using…

Been there. I just say "I'm good, thanks!" , smile, & do my thing.

Yep, I eat the skin. That's butternut squash; for acorn squash & other varieties, I tend to roast it in the skin, cut in half, & eat the flesh out of the skin but not the skin itself. But BNS, yes.

I've done Stott Pilates reformer classes for about 5 years with a 1 year break (studio closed). Started to help with back pain, have stayed with it as it has helped to really strengthen my core. Never have back problems any more. More flexible, as well. Really enjoy it.

Coconut oil, gluten free stuff, matcha tea stuff.

I don't bother peeling it...just scrub real well .

In UK, found a decent pre-mix of dry ingredients for Bircher muesli; has oat flakes, barley flakes, seeds (sunflower & pumpkin), oat bran, spelt, dried sultanas & raisins, buckwheat & quinoa. Has sunflower oul, i assume from roasted seeds? Has instructions to use 45 grams, 1/4 grated apple, 60 ml apple juice, 65g yoghurt,…

This. Plus...my personal mantra is, "I don't care." Meaning, if someone doesn't like the way I look, the way I work out, my trainers, my hair, my backside, or whatever, it's their problem & reflects back on them. I don't care what they might or might not think. I do my business, be polite & pleasant to others, & go on with…

Maybe a bit obvious...but you can start with walking. Not strolling, but what I call power walking; at a good clip, around 4mph, you can do intervals faster & slower, just to get your legs, feet, knees used to it. I do a lot of Nordic walking in addition to power walking & jogging intervals. Good luck!

I have at least a banana before the gym.

The AIS (Australian Institute of Sport) classifies many supplements according to scientific evidence, to determine if they are safe, legal, & effective in improving sports performance. Its a good resource & very handy when researching supplements you're interested in. Category A supplements are approved with science-based…

Def talk to your physio &/or doctor, maybe ask if yoga & Pilates might be appropriate.

I agree with some of the previous posters...you just gotta do you. We have all sorts @ my gym...all shapes & sizes, loads of different clothing, from the sports bra & tight shorts to the super baggy t shirt & jogger bottoms. Are there a few in there judging others? Yeah, probably...but that type of person is @ the…

They currently aren't available in Costco in UK, but I contacted them and they will hopefully have jumped through EU loops and be successfully added to UK Costco stores in November. Fingers crossed.

Check in the FitBit group. They post updates.

I have degenerative disk in cervical & lumbar spine; suffered with pain & stiffness from it. Steroid injected into area of lumbar spine @ a military pain clinic some years ago calmed that area down, & anti inflammatory plus massage help the neck. Best continuing "treatment" has been Stott reformer Pilates, has helped to…

Looks like it's sorted; checked my Monday diary & exercise synced over from FitBit.

Looks good to me for starting out, nice variety. Just learn what you enjoy, maybe increase intensity when sonething gets too easy.

There's a forum here for recipes, you might have good luck there; you can also use search function here & that would help you find recipes you're interested in.

I have a Charge HR & a Surge. I find the steps, heart rate & calorie burn estimate to be fairly reasonable...5'6", 9st 5lbs (131 lbs). I always take exercise calories with a big grain of virtual salt; I work out 6 days weekly with combination of cardio/Pilates reformer/bootcamp & kettlebells. I exercise for health, but…

I inherited my Surge from my husband, who got bored with it. I loved my Charge HR, really like the Surge, but took a while to get used to the bulky feel of it. I switch between them now.

Ditto, this is exactly what I do with my FitBit Charge HR & FitBit Surge. Works perfectly.

Check the groups here, there may be a Slimming World group. Good luck with your weight loss!

This. It isn't necessarily easy, if you have other issues, but it really is that simple. Don't bounce around diets. Plug your data into you MFP profile, select weekly goal ( perhaps start with 1lb), weight, measure, & log ALL your food. Stay at the calorie goal MFP gives you. You will lose weight if you exercise your…

Ditto...step machines are normally like this, get on, start stepping, & the display should come on so you can enter your workout parameters.

Good luck. When I went through it, plenty of running.

Love both.

My husband has always been really supportive, but has grown up eating typical NW England diet...lots of fries (chips), sausage, fried stuff, peas. I grew up eating healthy Midwestern US, baked spuds, lean meats lots salad & veg. I gained weight when we got married & I ate like him! So I started cooking & making food like…

Already did it last month; nominated by gym friend, British Army vet, I'm USAF vet, nominated friends from my former USAF commander, other vets, civilians. It was great!

I lost on WW Pro Points (UK); found it easy to use, was not hungry, loved the leader in local meetings, meetings were great. Got to & under my goal weight with little trouble. Maintained for several years, still tracking food, but leader quit & other meetings I found were not fun nor inspiring, & not welcoming to gold…
