Hi there! I am 45 and just started lifting. Would love to join y'all

Hi everyone!! Are y'all still here? I'm starting to run again after a long break, need to slowly build up my endurance again. Also starting weight training again.
-
Hi!!! Yes I'm in too! I've also been keto about 3 years. I felt the best the first year and a half, lost weight slowly but effortlessly which i hadnt been able to do in 10 years despite trying really hard. Then I put 10 lbs back on and I still can't figure out why lol. I've been stuck there for over a year despite trying…

My weight right now is approx 120 lbs and my goal is 110. I've been keto about 3 years. Initially lost about 25 lbs without exercise and I was at my ideal weight, still needed to tone but i know i needed to add weightlifting for that. After about a year and a half, 10 lbs came back on pretty suddenly. Still keto the entire…

I keep my carbs to 20g or below. If I do go over that, it's only a teeny bit and due to more veggies which I don't sweat too much. I cannot tolerate any dairy.

Hopefully it's not too late to join? I would love to be part of a group :D I am looking to lose another 5-6 lbs but REALLY I am looking to start including exercise back into my weight loss routine and see what results that brings. Mostly interested in weightlifting and yoga right now. Please add me too :) 7/9/17 SW: 116…

I'm exactly 5'0 and 43 years old. I've been trying to lose weight literally, for YEARS (at least 8) but just kept gaining no matter what. I got up to 134 lbs, and as we all know, on a small frame that is a LOT. I really should be about 110-115. For me, it wasn't really a lack of trying or motivation. I exercised (running,…

Muffin....aw how cute. Buttercup...aw how sweet. Robert....aw...huh? ;) :)
Billy the Billy goat was too cliche...i joked that we should choose another 'normal' boy's name instead... and Robert somehow stuck  Buttercup is a male too but was supposed to be a wether (snipped), so that seemed to suit him. Plus I…

Awww you have a Lilly too! What breed is she? I think I am going to switch my puppies to grain free food. What brand do you buy? I don't know why I would be nervous about feeding them raw meat...they are carnivores! lol Maybe I will see how they do on some as a treat once or twice per week.
Ours is a black mouth…

Hi there!!! Two Lillys!!!
-
^^ I had not heard of PQQ! I've started googling a bit on it and it sound like something I should try  What has your experience been like?
-
This is a great site, thank you!!! Coincidentally I was reading the thyroid post last night :) I take supplements, but maybe since I'm having a hard time I should bite the bullet and get a vitamin/mineral analysis done.
-
We also have three goats: Muffin, Buttercup and Robert. Oh and between 20-30 rabbits at any given time. In fact, we should have more babies in a month!
-
We have three fur babies a 3 year old dog Lilly and two little rescue kitties about 8 months old, Smokey Girl and Tigger Babysocks. Lilly eats grain free dog food and raw meat but kitties not so, yet. They are all so spoiled and such wonderful little companions

Let's see... it's elemental fully chelated magnesium glycinate/lysinate. I've been so used to taking it, maybe I need to increase the dose? I'll keep being liberal with the salt and make sure I supplement with potassium too. Sometime I get afraid I'll have TOO MANY electrolytes or bad ratios, can that happen? How would I…

Hmmmm thanks for these thoughts. I am on naturethroid 65mcg and I take iodine supplements, selenium, magnesium among others. Been gluten free even before keto etc to help support my thyroid. I haven't been tracking my am temp but that's a great idea, I can start doing that. The chronic water retention/flabby skin has…

Thank you for that great suggestion!!! I see several dates around Atlanta which may very well be doable
-
LOL see?? That's exactly what I was thinking lol. I think it's just water, which don't get me wrong I am VERY happy about because the water retention made me feel AWFUL. Now I am really wondering how I can monitor my bodyfat %? Suggestions on good measurement methods?

I think it took me about 5 days too, and I was concerned. But then it just happened and I have been in ketosis pretty much since  Agree with the others, it will happen! We are all different and some of us take longer than others.
-
Wow, it's just incredible how different we all are, isn't it!!! I have heard that chia seeds irritate the intestinal lining for some too....that does NOT sound pleasant either :cold_sweat: I guess it's just a matter of experimenting and then staying away from what causes problems. Can be a frustrating exercise though, but…

1 cup unsweetened coconut milk, 1/2 cup (8 tbsp) chia seeds and some flax seeds thrown in (2 tbsp). Refrigerate and once it gets, there is your pudding. Magic colon blow pudding :-) I usually only eat a couple tbsp at a time, depending. I was concerned if it would throw me out if ketosis (if it did I still figured it was…
-
All right so for anyone that is having/has had/will have this issue, let me just say Colon Blow pudding is still magic. Pure magic. It just is. Been suffering for days....had a little pudding last night and nice, easy movement this morning. No drama, no pain, no Eeek moments :-)
-
I broke down and made some chia seed pudding (I cal it Colon Blow pudding LOL) and took some of that with lots of water. That was always a pretty sure fire remedy for me. I'll take some more magnesium before bed too. Fingers crossed we have movement tomorrow ;)

Interesting!!! This used to be something I could correlate to PMS, but now I'm actually post cycle. I've started hormone therapy a few months ago too, but hadn't noticed the bouts of constipation until now. In fact I felt so much better
-
I'll have to figure out how to share that, yes I do eat cheese and dairy though. The past couple days though, I have backed off that somewhat too. But maybe was the trigger? So confused but I can't rule anything out.....once I get past this maybe I will see a pattern/trigger next time? Of course, it would be even lovelier…
-
ugghhhh you guys lol!!! I have stayed away from raw veggies, eating mostly fat and some protein....taking extra magnesium, drinking coffee, herbal tea and water with lemon. Still no movement. Oh man, so uncomfortable today :( it's like my bowels are just gridlocked. I might try drinking shots of coconut oil or something…

Such a wealth of information!!! Thank you to everyone <3

Oddly enough, when this happens to me....the more fiber I eat, the worse I feel. That's crazy isn't it??? This is even before Keto when fresh fruits and veggies were the primary source of my diet. Now that I am on Keto, this is my first flare up, and oddly enough it was when I had eaten more fresh veggies than usual since…

Hey there KnitOrMiss :) Great info!! I'm actually feeling much better today re: the swelling in my legs etc, not perfect but better. Still no movement though, but hopefully that will come with time  So it's interesting you talk about the thyroid, you really know your stuff!! I do have thyroid issues actually…
