Does yoga count? I work one full time job Sunday - Thursday and a part time job on Friday and every other Saturday. I am also on a volunteer professional state committee thing. Combine that with marathon training and that’s pretty much all I have time for. Occasionally I sleep. I would really like to have more time for my…

Okay, apparently I am destined not get any actual “work” done at work today. ;) Just visited the Pottermore website. Pottermore put me in house Hufflepuff.

Oh, fun! I went and took an online Meyers Briggs test. INTJ here as well.

Yes, but if I have diluted Gatorade in my hydration bottle I am getting a slow intake of sugar and electrolytes throughout my run. Is a Gu really going to do all that much more for me? I tried to use straight up Gatorade on my run this morning. Stomach cramps at mile 9-13. :(

Okay, answer a debate I have with a person in my running group. When running, the body diverts energy away from the digestive system and into our moving and working parts ( https://www.manhattangastroenterology.com/exercise-affects-digestion/ ). Does eating a small something during a long run really help? I never eat…

I love Mizuno Wave Riders. I am currently running in a pair. The only thing that sucks is they seem to wear out faster than other brands. I am lucky if I get 300 - 350 miles on them before my knees start aching.

Welcome @gipson2010 !

Congrats on day 13! I am on day 1 - again. :/ I quit alcohol completely for 7 months in 2017 until I reached my goal weight. Fast forward to August 2018 -- 20 pounds back on. I attribute some of those pounds to a few drinks with dinner in the evening. I suck at moderation. Especially after a glass of wine. :(

So sorry for your loss @RunsOnEspresso

Oh, I am glad I found this thread! Help? Any long distance runners in the house? I hear exercise is supposed to make hot flashes better. I am training for a marathon and still suffering. The hot flashes are kitting my *kitten* this summer. Does anything help? I just want to stop sweating in my sleep!

@Elise4270 Hope you feel better soon. Maybe have the doctor check your B-12 and Iron levels? Thyroid hormones? TMI warning - Squamish peeps cover your eyes: I feel ya’ on the hellish southern summer menopause energy sucking thing. I am so tired of being hot and tired! Nothing like a hot flash on a long hot summer run to…

Allegedly, @garygse has an amazing mythical nap room at work. He mentioned it at one time. I am so insanely jealous of that. You have no idea.

Thanks! I finally got my mileage back up to 40 miles per week. I had to back off earlier this year due to an ankle/foot issue. It feels good to have my mileage back to where it was even if my pace is slower. The only drawback is that a small army of third world children have moved into the bottomless black hole that has…

@LaDispute57 So sorry you are going through this, again. I went through one divorce and that was enough to make me miserable for a few years. We married too young (among other reasons). My current husband and I have been together 18 years. I really believe it is because we allow each other to have the space and time to…

Seriously though, can you call your local animal control and ask them for advice? Run in another area until the bear moves on?
