167.7km completed this week and 1455m of climbing over 7 hours. Two more weeks to build on this before heading back to the UK without my bike.

Day two and no wavering. I turned down chocolate cake in the office and a glass of wine with dinner. It's the little victories.

Popped into my local bike shop for cleats but somehow came out with a new Spiuk helmet, three pairs of socks and the cleats. Not sure how that happened.

New cleats attached to my triathlon shoes having destroyed my mtb shoes in Portugal at the start of the month.

Hope your recovery goes well. With it getting darker earlier I think I might restart spinning to build up my fitness.

Good for you. Getting your mind set around an achievable goal always helps focus. I going to aim for shorter term goals this year so I've got something to tick off as having achieved. What's your plan?

I seem to ebb and flow. I get in the grove and get 3 or 4 rides in then work or holidays break my routine and I don't get out for weeks. I was slightly disappointed in myself that given the climate and opportunities I have to ride I actually get out so little.

I got back in my bike in Saturday and got 110k and 1400m of vertical ascent in. It was great to get out in the fresh air but I couldn't believe how much biking fitness I had lost over the last 6 months. 2016 is going to be my year dedicated to my bike with a target of 7500km for the year.
