  • Knee friendly yoga, seated weights (light) and seated boxing for cardio?
  • Hello, first of all: congratulations! I`m getting married this October (eek!) and I`m also a body type that packs on muscle. I found out after doing Insanity and ended up with massive, Olympic weight lifter sized thighs at 92lbs! My jeans were stupidly tight there but loose at the waist. After I quit the program & quit my…
  • I had never done any exercise before doing 30 day shred and it was really good. Yes, it can be a little tough but I think it`s a good starting point and pushes you a little harder than you would normally go on your own. My only problem with it was that it was unrelenting on the knees (lots of repetitive, same knee lunging…
  • An extreme solution but padlock the food cupboards. Hopefully sleepwalking you isn`t dextrous enough to unlock it?
  • Give your body time to heal, it has only been 6 months since you`ve given birth. However: a lot of the time people eat back the calories that they burned during exercise and believe that they`re still eating at a deficit. My advice is to STOP THAT! This is because you don`t know if you`ve really burned that much (sort of…
  • I found that not eating back the calories helps a lot in the long run. The estimate of how many calories we burn per activity varies so much from person to person it`s better to pretend it`s an overestimate right now.
  • I also average about 1 square of dark chocolate a night. Dark chocolate has much less sugar and calories than the rest so it`s worth looking into.
  • Might be muscle gain or water weight due to muscles being used more than usual (something about muscles microtearing and retaining water for safety). If you`re slim keep track of body width measurements. This`ll help you realise that the weight you`re gaining is muscle and not fat. A photo diary can also help you keep…
  • Sorry for the melodrama and thanks for everyone`s kind and funny words. Just, when I slip up it feels like I`m incapable of self discipline and that if I can`t stop myself from eating 4 measley biscuits that I`m intolerant to...then what AM I capable enough to do in life? Anyway, I`ll try to move on from this and deduct…
  • Hot chocolate works well for me! Depending on your requirements/preferences you can mess with the recipe as well. I only have half a tablespoon of cocoa mix (already contains sugar), a tablespoon of soya protein powder, one third of the mug is semi-skimmed milk and top up (stir stir stir!) with hot water. Sometimes I add…
  • I downloaded a 7 mins a day exercise app (the one by Perigee) in preparation for my wedding in October. 7 mins isn`t a lot but I can already see how unfit I am! It`s not unmotivating like a 45 min Insanity either. Good luck to everyone!
  • Not looking to gain but good luck and best wishes on your journey!
  • My horrible job made me an emotional eater. I know we need jobs but when its straining my physical AND mental health...time to quit. So I did. Turned to freelance and when I don`t have to commute for a hour, packed onto public transport after an unrewarding day with ungrateful bosses and customers, I don`t scoff a doughnut…
  • Pssst, I think you`ve posted in the wring forum. There`s one for foods. Anyhow, look into Miso soup. There`s red (contains barley) and white. Paste version is better than powder and all you need to add is hot water. Low in calories, tastes nice and the water makes it filling! Add some seaweed and tofu (silken if possible,…
