  • Dumb question for you all. We know about the scale can have a “fake” and go down after drinking the night before due to dehydration. So wouldn’t drinking water help counter that? I’ve always been one to only have the drink and not the water. Why bother I kind of figured.... but tonight I’m going out with a GF. I’ve already…
  • @Fitness327wk and @MissMay THANKS for your support. I worked through the anxiety, kept myself occupied, and pushed myself through any temptation. I achieved my goal to stay away from wine tonight and I didn’t cave! This is HUGE for me. HUGE. I’m going out with a GF on Friday and will have wine but none for me until then.…
  • I’m experiencing some triggers today that would normally lead me to have a two or even three (my max) glasses of wine tonight. I don’t want to do that so I’m going to try to work through the discomfort. Posting this for accountability. Want to get through a tough day. Thx all.
  • Thanks all for your responses!
  • I had a SINGLE glass of wine the other night. First one yet this year. This Thursday I’ll likely have two glasses when I go out with a GF, but I don’t feel bad about it. I feel like I’m KILLIN’ my goal to drink less - I *AM* killin’ it. I’m amazed at how I’m really getting used to not drinking wine. It’s on my mind less…
  • I think @Lilylady3k nailed it with “Appreciating the accountability and lack of judgement in this thread.” This is a safe pace and I appreciate it so much. I’m finding this to be a very helpful outlet when for various reasons, one being that it’s great to know I’m not alone. So much of what everyone writes out here…
  • I don’t know how to tag people, but @Fitness327wk I appreciate the encouragement! You too @dawnbgethealthy! (Not sure if that worked...) The talk went well and I am sticking true to my word. BOOM!
  • Yes! My goal is to get through some loving and tough talks in the next hour, once she gets home. Then my reward is pajamas, tea and/or hot cider, Netflix or Hulu and me not leaving my comfy chair until I go to bed!!! I’m gonna do this. I’m feeling so good and strong and want to embrace that. I’m so thankful for finding…
  • My daughter (16) is having academic troubles in school. I’m waiting to meet with her teachers. I have so much anxiety building up over this and other problems she’s going through. Really good kid but a troubled spirit right now. Normally I would go home and have a few glasses of wine to come down from this. I’m going to…
  • Thanks!
  • I too got really confused with my FitBit for similar reasons. I ended up disconnecting and instead manually enter the cals burned from the exercise I log into my watch. Any extra from steps or a more active day than normal is an extra bonus my body will work through. I don’t miss that it isn’t logged.
  • Wowza I actually did it! I had a salad and tea and I survived and even enjoyed it! Fewer calories, less money, and I’m not feeling sluggish/ready for bed. WIN!
  • I’m really glad this group exists. Good to know other people who are trying. My goal is to cut back. Tonight I’m going to a wine bar to listen to some music. I’m only on day 3 here so I want to keep the momentum going and not order one glass which will quickly turn to another and the ordering food I shouldn’t have that…
  • Lilylady and Deb I really connect with what you’re saying...best wishes to all of us!! OAN, is there a way I can see who clicks to “like” or “hug” a post of mine?
  • I’m intrigued by this! I like how everyone is owning their own goal in all of this. I definitely want to/need to cut back and it seems this could really help with that. Happy New Year, all!
  • Wow-there are so many posts out here! Here goes and will see if anything comes from it....I was on MFP a few years back but then ended up dropping off. I’m going to start logging again on 1/1 or for sure by 1/2. And then I want and need to discilpline myself tonstick to it. My main gig is that I need to break myself of bad…
  • Go Sconnies! I’m new out here again I guess....was more active years back. Looking for some accountability as I’ve laxed (is that a word?!) and am frustrated about it. Add me if you’d like-any of you! Also getting used to a new FitBit.
  • Cool. Will check out this link. Thx!
  • I eat three eggs almost every day for breakfast, sometimes another two as a snack. I get my stats checked annually and no issues with my cholesterol. I think eggs have gotten a bad rap.
  • Smit are you talking 10 miles per DAY of brisk walking?!
  • I’m also a bit confused about the FitBit - just getting used to the site right now and the syncing. I did the elliptical this am and burned 500+ cals on my FitBit app but it’s only the step calories that transfered over, at least at that time of day (i think it was maybe around 280 cals or so). It has since increased with…
