Me! I have about 20 more pounds to lose. I’m aiming to hit my goal by my 40th birthday this summer.

I’m down 130 pounds since February 2020, with about 20 to go. You should be proud of yourself for just starting this journey!

The comment that bugs me the most is “Congratulations on losing weight. I’m proud of you.” While I know people mean this as a compliment, it bugs me because I’ve done some pretty tough things in my life that definitely deserve congrats/proud comments more, but nope. I guess only my weight matters? 🤷♀️

Me! I lost a bunch of weight three years ago, only to (surprisingly) get pregnant! I am now committed to losing the weight again, for the last time!

It depends. A person who gives an occassional compliment, 👍. A person who constantly comments, 👎. But, it also depends on how it’s phrased...compliments that end with “now” (you look great now or you are so pretty now) or compliments from people stating how “proud” they are of me irk me.

I started my journey in December 2015 with a little over 140 pounds to lose. Since then, I have dropped over 110 pounds, and only have 28 to go. Feel free to add me!

Thank you, everyone, for taking the time to respond. I appreciate the experiences other people have had on this journey and am motivated that I should continue to see results, even as the amount I have to lose goes down. I was worried about this, but the worries seem to be unfounded. I can do this!

My biggest challenge was banning certain foods from my life. While in theory it should have helped me eat less, it actually caused me to eat more when I binged on those banned foods!

I live in SE Wisconsin, and am trying to shake up my routine now that the weather has gotten nicer! My husband and I just finished a 23 mile bike ride on a new trail, which was awesome! Don't give up! I am a little more than half-way there, and am slightly discouraged by my loss (or lack of) these past few weeks, but I…

0.5 pounds to go; maybe tomorrow will be the day I bust below 200!

I started my journey back in December, and have lost just over 80 pounds with about 55 or so to go. My biggest advice: take it one day at a time and trust that you are stronger than you think. You got this!

SW: 283 CW: 205.2 GW: 141.5 I am over halfway to my goal, and cannot wait to get there!

People value different things, so perhaps some overweight people just don't care. I know that was me! I definitely was not lazy before, nor am I now. My priorities have just changed, and now losing weight is a priority of mine.
-
You can do it! Although I still have a ways to go, I recently hit my halfway point of 70 pounds lost since December. Now, I am focused on busting into "onderland," then on losing over 100 pounds, and finally on losing half of my starting weight. For me, once I finally made time for myself and realized I was a priority,…

You got this! I will turn 35 this summer, and started this journey with a daunting amount to lose (140 pounds) back in December. Last week, I reached the halfway point! Once I set my mind and made myself a priority, things kind of fell into place. Good luck!

I had to make the time to exercise by scheduling it in advance. But, I also created a schedule for household chores and other regular commitments too, which has helped a ton and keeps things from becoming overwhelming. I always thought my mom was crazy for dusting on Mondays, doing wash on Tuesdays, etc. But, she was kind…

You got this! I started in December and am halfway to my goal of shedding 140 pounds.

I am 34. I started at 283 back in December. Since then, I have lost just over 70 pounds, with about 70 pounds to go.

I have lost just over 70 pounds. I started at 283. The comments from other people started in the past couple of weeks, so after about 65 pounds. But once that first comment came, the floodgates opened and now people comment all the time. My mind hasn't caught up. I know I am wearing smaller clothes and can fit in smaller…

I have a lot left to lose, too! It makes it kind of hard to get excited about my loss so far (nearly 65 pounds) when I realize I still have 80 more to go. But like you, I'm not going anywhere! I am committed to making myself the best self it can be!

You got this! Once you make yourself a priority, nothing will be able to stop you!

Hi! I am 34, and started this journey to lose weight at the beginning of December 2015 at 283 pounds. Since then, I have dropped nearly 65 pounds, and currently weigh just under 220. Right now, my goal is to break 200, and then I will work on shattering 100+ pounds lost. I am in this for the long haul, and have so much…

I tried waking up early and exercising, but found myself exhausted all the time. So, now I workout in the evening, and that seems to work for me.

Compression pants?

I'm 34. I started my "lifestyle change" at the beginning of December, and am down 60 pounds. I still have 80 to go, though, and I feel it's going to get harder and harder. Feel free to add me!

34 here. 60 pounds down, 80 to go. We got this!
-
When I woke up a little earlier each day to exercise, I found myself always tired. I had to switch my workouts to the evening, and that made all the difference. Is there anything you can switch up in your day to see if it is affecting your energy levels?

My only daughter is leaving home in the fall for college, and as a (young-ish) "empty nester," I want my husband and I to be able to enjoy life and all the adventures we can while we are able to! Not many people are able to do this, so we want to take full advantage of our unique situation (we are going to be DINKs, lol).
-
24.7 pounds to go! I started at 83.1 pounds to go, so I am feeling confident now that I will get there! My hope is to get there by mid-June!

I find that what works for me is setting goals for myself. For example, my original exercise goal was small (10 minutes on the elliptical 3 times a week), and once I "hit" that goal for two weeks, I changed it and made it more challenging. Competing against myself has worked much better than competing against others, imho.
