I would say drop your average calorie intake by 250-500 calories per month. Anything faster than that it's bad. Make sure you stay hydrated, and get adequate rest between exercise sessions. If on some days you don't have the energy for an intense workout, at least get some walking in. Something is better than nothing

Cool. Thank you

cheat days should be epic in my opinion so I shoot for an extra 2000 calories, hell if I am gonna do, I best do it right. Big ole hamburger, double meat, double green chili, double bacon, double cheese, extra grease with seasoned curly fries and onion rings...I just don't plan on working out on days like that
-
Excellent. Thank you

Not in Dallas, how about Albuquerque

Hello. ..I love running, am in recovery/healing mode myself. Good to meet you friend
-
I'm new to running and am currently recovering from an injury. That being said, once I'm off and running again I want to run a 5k, 10k, and log at least 200 miles for the year

Hi everyone, my name is Kevin. I live in Albuquerque, NM. I just started MFP ten days ago and started running back in November. Would love advice on diet/nutrition and good running technique. I hope to run my first 5k this year. Dealing with a foot injury right now though
-
Albuquerque, NM here
-
I love running. Was suppose to do a few smaller races this year but dealing with a foot injury has me shut down for a bit. I only started running again back in November after a twenty year break. Guess I got to excited. Would love advice on technique and training

What sports?
-
My goals aren't far from yours...looking at 19 pounds. I love to exercise, just need to figure out my nutrition component
-
While nutrition and exercise are both important, nutrition is the biggest component in success. Like they say, you can't out exercise a poor diet. I recently started tracking my daily food intake and am totally shocked by what I see. Good luck on achieving them goals you can do it!

I have similar problems. The plantar fasciitis is brutal, but I love to run so it's on again off again with that. I try to stick with free weights s much as possible. Mix it up with heavy bag (kick boxing) and rower. Recumbent bikes on my opinion are useless and don't work as well on terms of cardio
-
Your can do it. Good nutrition and strong focus on goals you'll be right where you want to be
-
Congrats and good luck

Chocolate is my weakness. I don't drink or drink soda, but chocolate is a hard one for me. I replaced it with chocolate flavored protein shakes with peanut butter and bananas. Slightly better option
-
I have had both shoulders done. Took longer to recover from that than knee surgery. Welcome and good luck on the road to recovery

Geekin time

You got this! send me your pizza I will surely help

I do a lot of crossfit type of programming and circuits at home. I have a small bench, a mix of dumbbells and kettlebells. Machines are good also, but I prefer free weights. I think free weights forces you to focus more on proper form without injury
-
Awesome work! Need inspiration...I have no patience
-
Welcome. I'm new here also. No specific weight goal for me. I'm more interested in body composition and how I feel. I like how the app helps me track my diet, I figure that's the best starting point to see what I need to work on
-
Good luck on them goals. Feels like every time I start making stellar progress I end up with an injury or health issue. But I ain't no quitter.
-
Supplements: vitamin d, fish oil, whey protein, creatine, probiotic. Don't plan on adding more than this
-
HAHAHA, I love it...however, I have been doing that for several months and can't seem to get things going in the right direction. Been doing weights/cardio/current battle is calorie control. Its not high, just not consistent
-
Desk jobs are a healthy mind/body killer in my opinion. I try and make sure to move every hour or I go nutso. Good luck on hitting your goals for the year. My biggest struggle is periodic injury, which leads to my depression and frustration
-
Thanks everyone for the replies. I guess I am hooked into the running because I am recovering from a near 30 year smoking habit. The running in my opinion helps me gauge my lung recovery. Only been at it since November, was hoping to do a 5k and 10k before end of year, so I can say I did it and for no other reason
-
I just figured it was a nice round number. The most I ever weighed was 185 right after the Army. Just wanted to see if I could get bigger than the last time, which was over 20 years ago
