  • See your doctor. Sounds possibly like blood pressure dropping (postural hypotension) but your doctor needs to check you over. Get up slowly until this is resolved to avoid falling.
  • Tranexamic Acid, helps to avoid anaemia due to heavy loss.
  • In the UK we have a shortage of fuel (petrol/diesel) caused by shortage of long haul lorry drivers. People here are behaving like they did with toilet rolls back at the beginning of the pandemic. Queuing up to squeeze a tiny bit in their tanks to keep them full, causing long tailbacks and blocking roads and entrances.…
  • A small, poorly focussed photo of my eldest son just after he was born. All 3 of my kids were born by c-section but I was awake for the younger two and saw them as soon as they were born. My eldest was an emergency surgery and I was given a general anaesthetic for speed, and I didn’t come round till he was almost 2 hours…
  • This is essentially what has happened in England. On July 19th the legal requirement for distancing and masks in all indoor spaces was removed. It was widely referred to as “Freedom Day”. Our government “strongly advised” people to keep wearing masks but of course many didn’t and now the percentage of those wearing masks…
  • My early childhood experiences were ideal really. Mum and dad were never overweight. Dad was very active and so was I, Dad cooked our meals from scratch, most of the fruit and veg coming from his own garden. It was when I reached teenage years I began to notice how critical they both were of overweight people and what they…
  • I’m also from the UK (English Midlands). Vaccine availability does seem to vary a bit from one area to another. Here the under 35s are just being called for their second dose, the government are advising an 8 week gap in the hope that immunity will last longer (though I don’t think anyone actually knows what “longer”…
  • I work in a team of around 30 people. I’m mainly working from home, but AFAIK no one phoned in sick after vaccination. Both my shots were on a Saturday and I work Tuesday - Friday so wouldn’t have been an issue.
  • Yes - I had Pfizer vaccines 12 weeks apart. First one had headache and thirsty day of the vaccine (I had it early afternoon) and sore arm for 2 days. Second one minor sore arm for about 24 hrs that’s all. Good luck 😀
  • In the UK we are seeing early signs of a third wave due to rapid spreading of the India variant, mostly amongst younger people who are not yet vaccinated/ only had first vaccine. We have come out of winter/spring lockdown in stages and we were doing quite well till this new variant took hold. Currently most things are open…
  • Me too, I work in community healthcare (UK), I have gained 18 lb stress eating over the last year.
  • In response to the OP - I was diagnosed prediabetic Jan 2019, by Sept 2019 I had lost 30 lb calorie counting and cutting right down on sugar and low fibre carbs. I still had 10lb to lose but had already put my blood sugars in the healthy range and was planning to maintain through the winter, then slowly lose the last 10lb…
  • I wish I could hug this more than once. I am so sorry for the loss of your fiancé and in awe of your determination in the face of bereavement and your own health risks. You have only overeaten for a few days and already recognised that you must allow yourself to experience those unpleasant feelings to work your way past…
  • I had my second Pfizer yesterday, I just have a sore arm nothing else. After the first one I had sore arm, headache and thirst for a couple of days, though I’m in the UK and we have a 12 week gap between doses. Hopefully you will be fine, it’s a good feeling to get them both done.
  • Really don’t get why this would get 5 disagrees. I’m in the UK and would say Australia (and NZ) leadership is definitely better than ours: over 120,000 deaths for one smallish Island.
  • I’m in the UK, and having my first dose of vaccine this afternoon (frontline health worker). I’ve been told my second dose will be within 3-12 weeks. Apparently the second dose should be given a minimum of 3 weeks after the first so it’s okay for it to be a bit longer and this way more people can get their first dose more…
  • UK here, two of my sons work in retail, and both would prefer if customers were only allowed to have collections or deliveries. Then they would only have to mix with their colleagues who would respect each other’s space unlike some customers. It’s probably not financially viable for the companies they work for but it would…
  • Which book did you get? (He has loads) I’m also pescatarian but mainly vegetarian, also couldn't manage on and wouldn’t eat only 800 calories per day, but the food in that programme looked really good. Lower calorie and yummy. I already tried the mushroom base pizza and that was super tasty.
  • I can’t give you any exercise advice as I’m not experienced or qualified. However as someone who has had previous piriformis syndrome which can give warning twinges sometimes, the advice from my physio I can pass on is use your abdominal core strength to brace your lower back when lifting /carrying so your piriformis…
  • Im the same, don’t want to eat the same thing three days in a row. This is why I freeze leftovers because in a couple of weeks I’ll enjoy eating it again and it’s essentially a home made ready meal when I’m tired and hungry after work. I also cook and freeze veggies that might not get eaten before they go bad, and tend to…
  • I’m 4ft 10 age 55. Started Jan 2019 at 159 lb, lost 29lb and got my prediabetic blood sugars back in the healthy range. Been maintaining at 129-131lb since sept 2019. Was planning to lose another 12-15 lb this spring but then covid happened. I lost 5lb at the start of lockdown through anxiety but have put it back on again…
