Mine has been an integral part of my weight loss just like MFP has. MFP tracks calories in and the Fitbit tracks calories burned. As long as I watched those numbers and kept an average 500 calorie deficit, then I lost a pound a week which has added up to a 60 lb. loss. I think that I am the kind of person that will always…

Of course, you can lose weight at 50+. It's just a matter of accurately recording your caloric intake using MFP and balancing that with your calories burned. I started in January of this year. I got a fitbit so I would know how many calories I was burning, a food scale to weigh my food for more precise input into MFP, and…

I have been successful using My Fitness Pal to log my food, a Fitbit to track calories burned through activity, and a food scale to weigh my food for accuracy in my logging. I started in January and have lost 38 pounds to date. I am trying to make lifestyle changes and fully expect to do this the rest of my life because it…

I have a Charge HR and it is such a help in my quest to change my sedentary ways. Most of all it helps me know how many calories I have burned each day. In the beginning, I only got around 3,000-4,000 steps daily until I decided to meet my goal of 5 miles each day. I don't really know why it is so motivating for me, but it…

Your story is inspirational and your struggles are our struggles too. I agree that we all get knocked down (usually we trip ourselves up) but what we do after that is the key to success.

Great job!

It is surprising what “just moving” will do for your weight loss and health. I made a decision in January to change my lifestyle. I re-established my MFP account, bought a Fitbit to gauge my calories burned, and a food scale to get a handle on portions. Huge eye opener! You really don’t burn that many calories when you…

You are so right. Small things can have a huge impact. Good luck and just keep at it.

Anyone can add me as well. I log in daily and will be happy to offer support and encouragement.

Feel free to add me. I have been at it since January and have lost about 15 lbs. I'm logging everything and trying to be more active. I still have about 65 more lbs to go.
-
Wow! You've lost twice as much as I have. Great job. Feel free to add me.

Hi Courtney. I look at this as a lifestyle change too and not a diet. I just started in January and have lost 14 lbs. It works!
-
You can add me. I'm 59 with about 68 more pounds to go. I log everyday as well.

Feel free to add me. I log it all, good or bad. I started in January and have lost 12.5 lbs. so far.
-
You can add me. I have quite a bit to lose.

You can do it! I quit smoking on 2/15/1992 and have never smoked again. I did however experience weight gain. You are on the right path with substituting old bad habits with new healthy ones. Keep on keeping on.
