Week 5: Bonus Point #1- My biggest struggle is also emotional/reactional eating, especially when I'm bored or anxious. To help overcome it, I question myself as to my motives when I want to reach for a snack...am I hungry or do I just lack something else to do at that moment... I've started doing some stretching or even…

Tell me more about your mac & cheese fake out! Is it reduced carb?
-
I use greek yogurt to replace cream cheese in recipes too...especially in dips. Baking with it is trickier! I use veggie noodles, cauliflower rice and often drop oil from recipes completely.
-
My " beet challenge" tip is to use non fat greek yogurt in place of sour cream and even cream cheese. I have others and most of you probably have heard this one already but it's something I do nearly every day!

I've had heart failure since I was 23. I'm now almost 42. I have to drop my bmi from it's, current 43 to 35 or lower to qualify for transplant. I've done one side or the other of the diet/exercise equation for years... Finally have both going together! I'm working with a nutritionist on getting more fiber while keeping my…

Met my goals 6 of 7 days this week and did BPC's 1, 2 & 3.... So 9 points for me for Team Carol!

BPC 1: " Orange Crush, Kit Kat & Mints" - I'm a cardiac patient and in addition to a low cal lifestyle, I'm low sodium ( less than 1800 mg/ day) and I have to be careful of foods containing lots of vitamin k ( leafy greens for example) because they counteract my necessary anticoagulant medications. My husband has similar…

*Challenge 1: Be like Michonne and tell how I'll fit my habits into my life. My habit (in the making) is to be more intentionally active on my four non-gym days. To do that and keep it in balance with my family life, I'm setting aside 40 minutes in the afternoon/ evening (Tu,Th & Sa) for cardio and 20 minutes in the…

Hi, I'm Andrea and I choose Michone. My goals for this challenge is to make it habitual to be more intentionally active on 3 of my 4 "non gym days", specifically to get in at least 30 minutes of cardio and 20 of strength training those days. That time aside from the strength and cardio I get from everyday kid and house…

I'm on anticoagulants so must be careful to be consistent with and take in less foods high in vitamin k. For a while I was very strict on maintaining low vitamin k, and my blood sugar and a1c went bananas! Now, I'm on higher doses of anticoagulants and eat more vitamin k. About 2 servings of green something daily...I still…

Hi. I'm Andrea, t2 diagnosis in 2000 following a diagnosis of congestive heart failure (secondary to pregnancy, also had gestational diabetes during that pregnancy) in 1997. I'm currently well controlled after making some major med adjustments following a heart surgery I had in August. My blood sugar went bananas following…

Commercial sauces are easy, many/most are in the database on the app already. Homemade sauces are a bit different. I enter them as a recipe, ingredient by ingredient, in the diary and save for future reference. It's a little tricky at first, especially if you're a "this & that" cook as I am. The habit of measuring and…
