How on gods green earth have you assumed I think that only carbs have calories. Mate get to the opticians
-
of course you must have a certain amount of mass to maintain.
-
A piece of paster vs grained sugar that is added to 80% of food we see in our shops. That is the difference. Yes again i have said surplus of calories. read post pal

But your stomach is smaller so you would not be able to consume in the initial phase. The reason why people get hungrier is due to moralism kicking in, its the same if you eat breakfast you are more likely to be hungrier if you ate breakfast by lunch time than if you did not have breakfast. The initial rebound is water…

Im not saying no to calorie deficit thats all i work on but essentially for faster weight loss limiting the amount of sugar / carbs will have a more positive effect than if you just ate 2000 calories worth of sugar.

Thanks to everyone who has posted so far.. I have some work to do and will comment or reply if required when I come back on later. Just as an FYI this is post is mainly about maintaining weight and the effects of water weight that most people do not realise.
-
Not to offend as I appreciate you commenting but I do find your comment a little contradictory. So you have said it would work, so I am right and you agree low carb and low sugar with with exercise will help people lose weight? I haven't said it is sustainable, Im not going to eat like this forever, just to hit my weight…

If someone that wanted to lose weight ate a whole tub of ice cream which was 2000 calories and nothing else all day then I would probably agree with you, they may lose weight. But that person is going to walk around hungry and when we are hungry we eat, it animal nature. If we don't then we are unhappy and will lose…

Ah Ok, so you do agree with me then, reduce carbs and sugar to lose weight. Now you like sugar because your aim is different. Thats just practical. For anyone looking to achieve mass or gain weight then sugar is good.
-
What was your strategy of losing weight, how much did you lose and how long did it take you? I agree, the way in which each and everyone achieves our goals is individual and creating our own strategy or looking for a template to work off of is more likely to succeed long term. But if someone was overweight and they wanted…

Congrats on maintaining! Haha yeah Chocolate can be a bit of a tricky one especially as it's so small but tastes so nice. I do not stay away from any food, if it's cheat evening or cheat day if i want it ill have it. Personally I would not recommend anyone eating more sugar than required when trying to lose weight... in my…

So you ate 200 grams of sugar per day to maintain weight? Why would you do that?
-
haha very true
-
hypothetical situation

Just generally to anyone reading this post - yes if we over consume foods or have excess sugar or in fact combine high sugar foods with carbs and not burning them we will add fat we all know this but this was not that main point. The main point was that soooooo many people have said they tried to lose weight and been on a…

AmusedMonk, thank you for your comment. Haha yeah nuts are good in proportion but they are way too modish sometimes. But its above over consuming in any shape or form and this is to everyone. If we sat there eating 1000 apples per day we get fatter.
-
I have just had a nose at your profile Hornsby and you went from 203 pounds to 173 pounds... Did you consume 1900 calories for breakfast then? Did you eat 200 grams of sugar per day? If not, why not?
-
Hornsby is your aim fat loss?
-
HikerEd, if your hiking and using 7000 calories then then of course you need to maintain energy levels. But if you were just to include Dextrose/Maltodextrin mix in your diet per day amongst everything else it would be far from ideal if you were not burning them. It would turn to fat.

in terms of a dieters worst enemy i would say sugar is evil in terms of hindering (not stopping) weight loss. I agree, however as with the calories and over consuming. Carbs and Sugar are energy sources, if we limit the amount of foods higher in energy then our bodies will use fat over glycogen as an energy. As we know…
-
Honsby, thanks for your reply and I can see why the recommendation of 1900 is irresponsible, however generally speaking the average person gaining on 1900 per day with exercise, would be a very rare situation. haha 1900 for breakfast but if i am correct your goals are different from someone aiming to lose weight if I am…

Sugar is evil if over consumed especially when combines with high carbohydrates. I.e Various branded Sauces we combine with pasta, rice, potatoes. Sugar and Carbohydrates are both high energy sources, if over consumed consistently together there is only one result... weight gain.
-
Of course, if we are 10lbs heavier than what we would like to be we have got there for a reason. Very cliche but every action has a reaction. In the initial phase weight regain it is water, however should I personally go back to consuming what I liked then over the course of 6 months to a year I would probably put the 2…

As I said in my original post - some people will disagree but even your concept is the same. A calorie deficit whether it be a huge amount or a little. It is the same principle. yes you are right, your body will tend to hold onto more fat as it will think it doesn't know where the next piece of food is coming from, however…

do not mess with.. lol
-
thank you. yes just keep at it, you will be fine and be able to make the ex jealous before you know it :-)
-
haha I would be more inclined if it was well groomed... heard there was more faeces in a beard that on a public toilet door handle. Kinda put me off lol
-
haha never tried - maybe one time. lol - na
-
Jerseyex commented at the same time - bad timing.
