Got my loooong time goal of one arm chinup finally at 50 yrs. Last time I was this fit was when I was 18 but I could not get oac back then. Also got up to 270lb bechpress @150lb but this seems to be my limit as I have had this now twice one year apart and then it just gets down again after peak training and does not cope…

Same here. I got 20 kilos last year but that was muscle memory. Now I'm at my Peak so gains are really hard. I would be happy if I could keep my level and cut some weight at the same time.

Weighted pulls are competed here. I had frozen shoulders about 3 yrs ago so my ROM is not quite there yet. Yup, the gym is at the basement of our office building. i usually go there between 9-10pm so I can eat right after.

I have some good and bad news. I did two personal records today and the bad one is that something snapped/pulled on my left scapula area while doing easy OHP after my DIP record. I usually work out alone but now my co worker happened to be at our office gym at the same time so I got these on my phone video. I doubt they…

Oh oldie thread. Yup, I searched info on IF so my bad for answering an old thread.

Thanks for the link, good read. Another angle for those who try to get really lean by Layne Norton: https://youtu.be/QHHzie6XRGk I better not take part on these weight loss threads : ) Didn't figure it would be so tense here so bye bye.

Did you just search my handle to comment?

google 'starvation mode' or 'Metabolic Slowdown' , it's real. http://authoritynutrition.com/starvation-mode/

Of course one needs to filter all the data but I'm happy to read studys not payed by big drug companys. Sugar might add inflammation related to frozen shoulders, but you seem to think you know better. Over here the cure for frozen shoulders is anestesia and they rip your arm though the full ROM.
-
Having had frozen shoulders on both sides I would cut on sugar and start rows and face pulls. Some supplements might also help for inflammation. I take D, omega3, glucosamine, curcubrain, MSM, astaxanthin and other antioxidants but I bet you can do fine without them too. All the advice above is good too and I also follow…

Good explanation, thank you.

OP: Your body is telling you to stop starving! If you really need to loose more then you need to take a high calorie day or two and start to cut a small deficit not huge. Huge deficit only makes your metabolism slow to preserve energy. The last kilos are always hard. If you're forced to starvation mode (no food) then your…

Depends how much you exercise but much better than the ultra low starvation mode numbers you posted earlier. I'm type one diabetic and I try to follow 16/8 when I can and I do my workouts just before heavy lunch at 11am. Currently I do 200kcal deficit on rest days and maintenance on gym days.

I set long and short term goals. Mostly weight lifting based but at this time of year also fat reduction for summer. Short term works to get your workouts efficient and your calories in check/weekly and long term goals keep you going when you have troubles.

LCHF under 50 carbs a day for two weeks and cravings are gone for most part. Keeping LCHF for two weeks is the hard part as some people feel sick when adapting but it will go over. I haven't done this for a long time but it will stop your cravings for sweets.

For home pistol squats work too. Start with negatives as they are pretty demanding.

First study SI joint for possible cure for your scolisis. I have that too and it mostly makes squatting deep painfull on my right groin (spelling). Deadlift sometimes makes legs spasm. Bench press is ok with lower weights but sometimes lower back gets spasms with very heavy sets. Pull ups and chin ups no problems.…

Nothing before or atleast 2 hours rest after eating. You have energy stored in you for the workout if you do the normal one hour session. Today I had fasted for 15 hours before 50 min heavy RM bench training and it surely was harder than normal but I need to get my fat burning machine running again nicely before summer.…

I had frozen shoulder on my left shoulder for two years (it was awfull) and when it moved to the right shoulder I started to weight lift and it started to heal. You could also try MSM and other joint friendly supplements. Start doing sitting rows if you can. Sitting kills upper back so maybe you could try standing desk. I…

I also take glucosamine and MSM to help my joints. K2 and D help with the vains. One reason for some people not doing 5 times a week schedule is time. It takes a lot of time and for me it's better to just do two or three times but relatively heavy sets and squat and DL only once a week. Yesterday I did weighted pull ups…

Omega 3 makes the blood run like cracy at high doses. I had to cut my omega3 usage down when my finger would not stop running when I measure my blood glucose

Yup, I benched 270 raw/natty a month ago and now that I'm cutting it will of cource drop some. I'm 150 so that a good number for my age. Thank god we have muscle memory. When I was a teenager all we would do was play poker and bench, kinda sad.
-
OP, I watched your video and props for you for your spirit. If you dont do rows yet thats one exercise that is good for posture and good counter move for bench press. Wide grip and concentrate on holding it for a moment with your scapulas tight. This brings your shoulders back like you were a gymnastic

I started weight lifting again after 20yrs of no exercise because I got frozen shoulder for two yrs on my left arm and then right after that on my right arm. It took me about one year to get in shape and now after three yrs @48 I am stronger than I ever was. I can only do two or three times/hour a week. Any more than that…

Yikes, first post here so hello. I mainly do weighted pull/chin ups but from what I've learned women should not be so shy of using heavier weights after they get comfortable with moving any weights. Using heavy weights 1-5 reps makes your metabolism keep going long after your workout and so helps with cutting/tuning. Just…
