I used to see things with an all or nothing mentality. The most important thing is making small changes that you can stick to for the rest of your life. I use a flexible dieting approach, meaning I don't eliminate ANYTHING from my diet- I just eat it in moderation. For some reason our bodies seem to want something more…

I have to agree with everyone what Aggelikik and everyone else is saying. If it doesn't work well now, it won't work long-term and it will be too easy to go back to old ways. Personally, I like just having a coffee first thing when I wake up and then I don't even think about food until 12-1pm. It does NOT matter WHEN you…

Agreed! I feel like the more strict and "clean" a diet gets, it can make SOME people more susceptible to binge eating and creating unhealthy relationships with food. For those who are new to lifting weights it is possible to lose fat and gain a bit of muscle at the same time. It becomes more difficult as you become more seasoned with it. Getting adequate protein (.08-1g/lb of LEAN body weight) and keeping your calories within a moderate range will help you do both. Keep the calories…

You're being too hard on yourself! And…

Meh. A Carb is a carb. Science is science. I personally enjoy potato chips in the morning for breakfast with my coffee and fake coffee creamer, but also enjoy reaping the benefits of having a very healthy body fat %, tons of energy, good muscle tone, and awesome blood work results. :)

Shakeology is not necessary for fat loss. Neither are the ItWorks wraps, Take Shape for Life, Weight Watchers, Atkins, South Beach diet, cleanses, or even protein shakes (I only buy those for the convenience). If you burn more calories than you eat, you will lose fat. If you want to have a healthy ratio of lean body mass…

I would agree that the protein looks a bit high. Carbs and fats can be interchanged based on your preferences that day as long as they stay within your caloric intake goals. Personally, I like more carbs on the days I lift weights, and higher fat on sedentary days, but always get a minimum of 60g fat. Lower carb doesn't…
