I just eat fruit but I fell out of love with breakfast years ago...

Dunno if this will help but there's a lyric by Annie Difranco "Yeah I've got spots, mind if I've got stripes too" (or something like that). Stretch marks don't detract from a person's overall beauty, unless the person observing the subject is a superficial, judgemental *kitten* with unrealistic expectations... In which…

Ahh... you're doing well then! I quit for 8 months aided by an e-cig but was virtually constantly puffing away on it, to the extent I didn't feel like I'd actually quit smoking (if that makes any sense). Accidentally started smoking roll-ups again around Christmas but have made an enquiry of the stop smoking service as I'd…

Ta gentlemen. Raptor2763 I can relate to that... Last year I was walking around on a fractured leg thinking it was just a sprain for 6 days... Until one day I woke up one morning & it had swollen to double it's normal size, all of a sudden I couldn't put any weight on it & felt sick from the pain. Oops! I have quite a high…

Thanks all. I have made an appointment with the GP but it's another week away, as per usual with the NHS (oversubscribed, underfunded, la-di-da). Bearing in mind your collective wisdom I will just not do any exercise that causes pain in the interim, I do appreciate you all taking the time to reply. It just seems funny/odd…

katie22 I'm not following the gist of your message, the question is a bit vague. Do you mean to remember my long-term goals & keep plodding on until I reach them? mediimp, you're brave! Sounds rather intense! Good luck with that! I do have goals but at the moment it's primarily weight loss, so once I've reached my target…

Hi, you'll be inundated with advice so I won't write loads. I think calorie counting is over rated (many people will disagree with that). If you just write down what you eat in a day (e.g. lunch = chicken sandwich) you can pick up on negative trends without the need for the tedium of working out the calorie values of every…

I've developed a similar problem... "Uncle Google" wasn't much help (not much orginal/previously unknown there) but tried youtube this morning & found a few videos which may/may not be of use to you (obviously there are more but these were the ones I liked enough to make a note of - not in chronological rank of favourites,…

Hi, when I gave up calorie counting & started recording exercise instead (not on myfitnesspal) it became less of a drag, less time consuming, less guilt-inducing & saw more favourable results in terms of weight loss/fitness. It might not work for you but anything's worth a shot x

Thank you ladies & gentlemen! I shall give your suggestions & comments some consideration :-)

Thank you both for responding. Adapting sounds like a good plan, think I'll stick to the low impact version then! whmscll I have various fitness goals, but to spare unnecessary detail overall I want to lose at least a further four stone, tone up & improve my endurance. So far I've only shifted just under a stone since…

Thanks all, looks like the general consensus is a resounding "yes". Off to the shops we go!
