  • Another 5k for me today. It went much better than i thought. My legs for once did not feel tired , and breathing wise as good as can be expected.I felt good after i was done with stretching. My balance has improved a lot since i started yoga, i can tell when i stand on one leg to stretch :D
  • Hi all..I went for my run this morning. I did 5k again, and it went well.Tuesday is always my worst day for some reason, so i'm always happy if i'm not dying by the end. Gloria , just going out and doing it, even if you're not in the mood or if it doesn't go well is just as important. Sometimes i really don't want to go…
  • Avocado in a bun with cottage cheese and an egg with a slightly runny yolk, salt and pepper, is one of my favourite things to eat. Sadly, i haven't had an avocado in over a year for various reasons, and i miss it :(
  • Hi all. i have to say i also don't really like racing. i did it once (5k)and it was nice getting a medal at the end :-) However , it was way too many people ,at 15.00 in the afternoon ,very warm day ,and worst of all i had to sit around all day just waiting to get started, with an empty stomach cause i always run fasted.
  • Thanks Gloria. I admire you just for starting the half marathon training :) My goal at the moment is to slowly build up to 10k without injuring myself. Today was supposed to be a rest day ,so I did yoga in the morning. However, I decided to go for my long run in the evening instead of tomorrow morning. My god what a…
  • i was never middle of the pack either  i could run a 5k at about 28.5 min. i think before i got injured and had to stop. Now i run it at around 34 min on a good day, but slowly shaving seconds off.I'm being patient. Today was a rest day so i did yoga. I started it back in April as a supplemental exercise to help me…
  • Hi, I finished c25k for the second time in May ,and have been running 3 times a week ever since. I'm not very fast, but slowly improving.
  • My favourite foods as a kid are still my favourites now. Spaghetti grilled chicken and potatoes (my mom says a grilled potato is the first food i ate as a baby . apparently i stole one from the plate. After that she knew i was ready to transition to grown up food  ) gemista (rice stuffed vegetables). all types of…
  • do you eat fish or eggs? fish, eggs and dairy are where i get most of my protein from, and every now and then a protein bar.
  • i aim for 25% protein, 35% fat and 40% carbs. If i go over ,it's usually with my fats ,carbs i mostly stay under 40% and protein is hit and miss. I eat meat about twice a month, red meat even less, so i try with eggs, fish and dairy to reach my goals. And protein bars.Usually a bar/day .
  • i noticed that store bought olive oil has a very weak flavour compared to fresh, bought from the producer. My family buy it straight from the producer and i use that one over salads or cooked food. For cooking i use the store bought one.
  • It depends on how you feel. If you think jogging is too hard right now, just walk . It does get easier the more weight you lose. There's no rush.Maybe try walking a little bit faster each week until you're ready to to make the transition from walking fast to jogging without feeling like you are now.
  • i rarely use oil when cooking because i use baking paper instead. When i do use it i only use olive oil and it's usually 5-10ml. I normally prefer using it on my food after it's been cooked, to get the full flavour. So yeah you don't need it for cooking but a little bit is good for you.
  • i take meds only when i really can't handle the pain because i know they lose their effectiveness if you use them often and then you need more and more. I get migraines every now and then, and take one paracetamol pill of 500mg before i go to bed if it occurs in the evening, cause otherwise i will wake up in the middle of…
  • They saw you struggling and thought by offering some words of encouragement it would cheer you up and give you a boost to keep going. They thought they were doing a good thing. I think that's nice, and most people wouldn't mind. Personally i wouldn't do it, but that's just me, i don't do this sort of things. However…
  • I also have a very simple solution if there are no other alternatives to the weird bra size problems. What i did a while ago to most of my bras (because they are expensive and i didn't want to buy new ones), was take them in myself with a needle and thread. A couple of centimetres on both sides to make them equal. This way…
  • just wanted to post this since you are in the uk. i used to get mine from there shipped to the Netherlands cause i couldn't find my band size in regular stores. https://www.brastop.com/
  • 146cm here. Same problem with rings, bracelets ,clothes, etc. My wedding ring looks like a child could wear it.On the plus side, less material , so cheaper  I don't have a smart watch to monitor my daily activity, but i do have a running watch that i was thinking of replacing. All the straps are way too big for me,…
  • Aces High, Be quick or be dead, Bring your daughter to the slaughter, Deja vu,Killers, Man on the edge,Phantom of the opera,Prowler,The duellists,The evil that men do,The red and the black,The trooper,Where eagles dare. Just a few suggestions that have a good fast tempo. If you like to mix fast parts with slow parts in…
  • Probably around christmas. It's because of the things i only get to eat once a year, like specific christmas cookies or christmas dishes. When i was in a serious losing weight mode i just didn't make any to avoid the temptation. Now i'm maintaining, so i can limit myself to one a day and be happy i get to eat them.
  • i won't recommend specific songs because my playlist has about 200songs and growing, but the bands that take up most of the space with their music is Nightwish, W.A.S.P., Sabaton and Iron Maiden. Running on their beat is easy and natural for me and they always bring a smile on my face when they play so even when i struggle…
  • i keep my meals quite similar so all the items i use stay on my recent list. i also keep breakfast the same until i finish the package of whatever i am eating.so if i buy one type of bread at one week, and eat it with a slice of cheese, i will eat this as breakfast until the cheese package is empty and the bread is over.…
  • yep. it happens fast. then it will be 5 minutes, 10, 20 and so on. just be mindful of how you feel, and don't push yourself if you feel like you're not ready for the next step yet.
  • a piece of fish filet and lots of broccolli/cauliflower and or tomato/cucumber/lettuce salad. or just borrow some calories from tomorrow .
  • Having friends here made no difference whatsoever for me. But then again i'm an introvert  The only person i looked for encouragement when i needed it was/is my husband. As far as sustainability goes, don't cut out any foods out of your life, unless you plan on giving them up forever. Eating them less often is a…
  • exercises with weights. tried it years ago, found it way too boring. running on the treadmill. A necessary evil when the weather sucks, and even with music on, it is a constant mental struggle. My brain keeps telling me that i can't do it and i should stop. I tried watching Tv while doing it. Turns out i lose my balance…
  • I don't know if it has been mentioned already, but have you tried eating fewer meals during the day? Personally what works for me is eating one main meal a day and one or two snacks spread out the rest of the day. So just now (9a.m) i had my main meal. Spaghetti with meatballs ,broccoli and yoghurt. It's going to keep me…
  • my boobs really deflated during the last 6-7 kgs of my weighloss. It was one of the last things to go. Used to be an 80E ,now i'm a 60D (EU size)
  • It happens, just keep trying until it becomes easier. Also , run slower. Your body will automatically adjust and go faster over time, so make sure you keep a slow pace. When i increase my running time i keep reminding myself to slow down. I also discovered that running without the intervals was easier for me.For some…

  • i feel you. I'm the smallest of all of you i think. Maintenance calories at 1253 ,and looking forward to being able to eat that again. Happy at the moment that i can still lose 1kg a month, which will put me at my goal weight in 3 months. Most days are quite easy frankly, except when you really want to eat that 250kcal…
