I know you said not Pork Rinds, but I freaking love them! My favorite is to dip them in Primal Kitchens mayo, yum! I make homemade Kale chips, and while you can't dip them in anything, they are delicious. I just get a bag of the pre-cut kale, toss with EVOO and kosher salt and bake at high heat until crispy. I feel like…

I try to use raw whenever I can. The water weight can vary so much from raw to cooked. That said, I'm not super strict and sometimes just guess or use measuring cups, so maybe don't listen to me :)

Things I keep in my drawer at work: * smoked oysters * sardines * packs of tuna * packs of nuts * seaweed snacks (good crunch and salty, VLC) * Epic Bars (just check the carbs) * Jerky * Pork Rinds * canned ham I also keep packets of Stevia in case I want coffee or tea at work, mayo, and mustard.

Do you find yourself starving when you wake up in the morning? Or are you more of a nighttime eater? I was never hungry in the morning but got in to a bad habit of snacking every night. Just by virtue of dropping my late night snack and pushing my first meal of the day back a few hours, I was easily able to get to a 16:8…

If I were you, I might even try to hit maintenance for a few weeks to try and find where you actually are due to the increased activity then you can do the weight loss adjustment from there. Due to the increased activity and muscle mass, you might be surprised at your actual maintenance amount at your current weight.

Does he have the ability to bring a cooler bag? I buy things like meat sticks, hard salami, lunch meat, etc and put them in individual serving size baggies. Same with hard boiled eggs. I also buy the mozzarella and cheddar cheese sticks. I also will make a big batch of egg muffins at the beginning of the week for…

Technically I'm Keto, but yes. I do 16:8 or 18:6 most days and also do a 23-24 fast two or so times per week. I love it. I'm never hungry in the morning anyway, so pushing back my first meal of the day has been easy. Thinking back, I think that this is just how I'm meant to eat. For as long as I can remember, probably from…

Aw, I'm sorry. Anecdote. I lost my wedding ring in 2008. Since then I had gotten a divorce and remarried. This past Christmas I was going through some bins, and lo and behold, there was my wedding ring, over 10 years later! Hopefully yours shows up and sooner than 10 years :)

There are lots of veggies that fit well in a low carb diet - broccoli, spinach, kale, celery, cauliflower, zucchinni, cucumbers, peppers. I would avoid things like potatoes (sweet and white), carrots, onions, etc., too many sugars.

If it were me, I would set my activity level to Sedentary and eat towards that goal on the days that you don't work. On the days that you do work, I would eat half of however many calories MFP gives you for being active. What ever you decide to do, I recommend sticking with it for at least 4 weeks so that you can get a…

Can you please post links to these studies? I have a family hx of Colon Cancer and my GI doctor is very supportive of me following a Ketogenic Diet and I've never heard of this alleged connection. I don't drink and don't eat a lot in the way of cured meats other than some bacon occasionally, so I'd love to read some actual…

Totally a personal decision. For me personally, it really depends on the day. If I'm particularly hungry, I'll eat them, but at most I'll usually do only half.

I took a look at your diary and you don't seem to be eating a lot of fruits and veggies, both which are great natural sources of fiber. And what's great about fruits and veggies, is that they aren't a huge caloric hit. I'd probably start there before adding fiber supplements which can cause a whole other slew of issues…

I follow a Keto diet and mostly eat to satiety. My Macros tend to fall around 60f/30p/10c and my calories between 1200-1600.

I miss bagels! I love bagels, but they don't love me. I have a Non-Celiac Gluten Intolerance, so can't eat bagels any more and the gf versions were always just disappointing. If they fit within your calorie goals, then go for it.

Apparently I can't edit my post here, but I wanted to add that I'm feeling a little frustrated and confused right now. Like, I know that weight loss is not linear. And I know that the Bio-impedence scales aren't the most accurate. What I don't understand is how I've been in a deficit every day without fail, and in the last…

Good morning! I've had great success with Keto in the past and lost over 75lbs. Got lazy, the weight crept back on. Restarted Keto and dropped the pounds. Got lazy again and gained 46lbs :( Started back on Keto on 4/7/19 and have dropped 16lbs so far. I don't know why I ever stop Keto. It is really pretty easy for me,…

In the winter I usually just do Vodka Rocks or a glass of Red Wine. Now that the weather is nicer, I'm going to play around with some cocktails and just to come up with sugar free varieties. I'm really hoping to find a recipe, or come up with one, for low carb pina colada :)

I think that for many people, it's easiest to start by dumping the PM snacks, so basically, eat nothing after dinner. If you eat dinner at 6pm, go to bed at 10pm, and then wake up at 6am, you've already fasted for 12hrs when you wake up. Then you can go slow and just start to push back the time that you eat your first meal…

Curious what about his diary that you are judging? I follow a Keto diet and think that my diet is pretty healthy, albeit lower on veggies and fruits than some ketoers, it all depends on the day.

Happens to me. As a matter of fact, I just got back from a 30 minute walk. I just walk with closed fists and periodically open and close them a few times. Seems to do the trick for the most part. I still can't get my wedding ring off, but at least it doesn't feel like it's cutting off of my circulation.

Holy zombie thread Batman!

Why not just schedule your meals instead of waiting until you get a physical indicator that you are hungry? My stomach very rarely growls, I would probably never eat either if that was the only thing I was depending on to know when to eat.

Try eating fattier cuts of meat. Instead of Chicken Breast, do Chicken Thighs or instead of Filet Mignon, do a nice Ribeye, and so on and so forth. Healthy oils are great too, I use them on veggies when I either roast them or sautee them. Things like EVOO, Avocado Oil, Coconut Oil, Butter, Lard, Ghee, etc.

I follow a Keto diet and naturally moved to IF as I found that I was staying fuller longer from my meals. I 18:6 fast most days, and a few times a week stretch it to 23-24hrs with ease.

I would recommend it if you are one that won't miss all of the starchy carbs. I was never a big sweets person, so I don't miss things like candy, but I was always a salty and savory lover, so chips and potato dishes have been a bit harder. I will sometimes play around with my daily macros so that I can enjoy something like…

I haven't been, but I know that I need to. I know for a fact that I'm losing inches because my pants are looser and my boobs are actually fitting in my bra again LOL Thanks for the push to take my measurements, I needed it!

HW: 274.7lbs Keto restart (4/7/19): 246.8 GW: 135lbs MAY 05/01 starting the month off right! - 236.5 05/05 - 234.7 05/12 - 232.3 05/19 - 231.5 05/26 Fri 05/31/19 Finishing the month of May! Not the loss I was hoping for. I know I was in more of a deficit than that, but oh well. At least it was a loss.

Um, okay?

Have you seen a doctor regarding your blood sugar issues? Because that isn't normal. Also, ditto pp's questions.
