Ha! You're so right, however, technically I didn't say I wasn't losing weight, just wasn't losing as quickly as "I" think I should be. Point taken though. You're right, I agree I have dropped a significant amount (over 10% of my body weight) in just over 2 months without doing anything that radical (OK I did a 5 day juice…

Thanks for the confirmation, after RoxieDawn's post I had a "oh crap" moment thinking maybe I've been doing this wrong. Thanks for the tip on weighing dressing when applying to my salad, hadn't even thought of doing that. I try to be as precise as possible, just at lunch today it probably took me a good three or four tries…

Maybe I'm doing it wrong, please let me know as it would really suck if I've been doing this wrong and consuming more than I think I am. Lets take my salad dressing example (the label is below) I put a ramekin on my scale, hit the tare button setting scale to 0g and pour in 16g of dressing which according to the label (see…

No meds for kidney disease (polycystic). Only meds I take are for high PB and Dr. dropped that down to 1/2 a dose two weeks ago due to it dropping from my lifestyle changes. The does I'm taking is very low now 12.5 mg! Thanks for looking at my diary, the following is an extended explanation not defense. Just didn't want it…

Thanks for the feedback so far and please keep it coming. Yes, I've had a couple people mention my calorie intake to me, may have to consider adjusting it, actually due to work obligations it will go up over the next few weeks naturally. Which is I suppose one reason I've been working so hard on weight loss these past few…

Thanks for the posts all. Buying some bulk nuts and I'm going to weigh them out and put them in snack size zip lock bags. Also going to weigh out some oatmeal and pick-up some bottled water for my room so after I hit the hotel gym in the morning I can quickly cook some in the microwave and spend the time I would have spent…

Another question, my calorie intake will go up while I'm traveling, I'm currently at about 1500 a day and never go above that. So my question is, rather than focusing on trying to maintain my normal routine which does not include cardio every day, I should try and do cardio every day while traveling as it burns the most…

@ninerbuff - Thanks for your reply. I get the calorie deficit thing (I'm 5'10, 240 and male) which is why I'm sticking to 1,500 calories, maybe I should have phrased my question as follows, "What are thoughts on each and how they complement a calorie deficit for weight loss". I agree key to long term success is finding…

Printed out this picture and will update it weekly. Posted it over. My sink on the mirror. I think it will help. Also noted inches on it. In this picture I'm down 6.5"

If you're still looking send me a friend request, I'm an open book!

So here's what I'm working with; these are photos I'm taking for my six week shred program. I see a difference in these pictures. Really wish I'd taken a picture on 1/4/16 prior to losing the original 21 lbs. Need to print out one of these pictures and post it on the mirror each week maybe.

A couple people mentioned a race, I can't run but I could sign-up for some sort of walk. I'll check into it, that or some other fitness challenge. Good idea. I also like the idea of adding some different goals e.g. amount of weight I'm benching, curling etc. endurance, how long I can hold a plank etc. I remembered a pair…

Thanks for the friend offers, I'll add later. Unfortunately I didn't start taking pictures until three weeks ago after 21 lbs of weight-loss. I wish I had taking a starting picture in the beginning. I have a picture of myself taken Christmas day though that I'll print out and post on the mirror, not a body shot, me in a…

Thanks all, don't take this wrong but it's nice to know others struggle with the same issue. In-fact its really the only issue I've been struggling with. Diet piece of cake, going to the gym piece of cake other healthy changes piece of cake, mirror not so easy. @ScoobaChick When I hit 25 lbs of weight loss I picked-up a 25…

Thanks everyone. Looks like I'm buying O'Henry sweet potatoes. I would also agree what Winco is calling yams are actually sweet potatoes.

Thanks for the comments. The whole alcohol thing is interesting as I don't want the clients I'm entertaining to feel uncomfortable drinking if I'm not. Funny how that works. I like the idea of a scenic walk/run. They did confirm my room(s) will have a fridge in them so I'll be able to find a local juice bar and purchase…

See if there's a www.bountifulbaskets.org in your area. You can get a large basket of produce for $15 that should easily last 1 - 2 weeks depending on what you pick-up e.g. an orange will last longer than spinach. Also, when I was a starving student I would watch the discount meat bin, swing by early in the morning, always…

I'm interested in this as well. I purchased a meal plan but it's pretty generic, I have some special dietary considerations. Can anyone recommend someone who creates a plan (or recommends one) based on an actual assessment?

After A LOT of reading I've gone back to eating three meals a day and if I get hungry a healthy snack between meals vs 5/6 meals. It's worked for me so far, down 21 lbs so I suppose proof is in the pudding. I'm religious about weighing and entering my meals into MFP and I watch my calories and macros very carefully to make…

Found this topic searching for input and I think after reading every post my takeaway is, do what you prefer. The trainer I hired provided me with a meal plan of 5 meals and an after workout meal. For my schedule this is tough, also, the mid-morning meal is something that I would eat for lunch or dinner so I basically have…

I have a Vitamix and Breville Juice Fountain Elite and love them both. If I had to choose just one, I'd go with the Vitamix as technically it can juice as well, however, in my first hand experience not as well as the Breville. Yet, my Breville cannot do all the other things that my Vitamix can do. Hope that helps.

Walked three miles at an average of 3 mph. It was quite nice out 75 degrees, even broke a sweat. It was good to get some fresh air, not be in the gym with all the noise etc. Thanks for the input, may try a yoga class sometime too on an off day.

I've wondered the same. When I do the elliptical machine at my gym it tells me I've burned around 400 calories, calculation on here comes back with 600 so I adjust to the lower figure. Same with circuit training, MFP says I'm burning over 380 in 30 minutes, seems high to me.

Yea it's flat walk in my neighborhood. Doh, meant Jan 4 not Feb 4. Now that would be something huh? Thanks for the other replies. My routine is Circuit Training/Cardio, next day Cardio, next day Circuit Training/Cardio and so on.
