Thank you for the many thoughtful responses. Food for thought!

I drink a premier protein shake every day. I also eat a bowl of cabbage or zucchini every afternoon.

I think it depends on what you splurge on too. If the macros and fiber are kind of balanced despite the fact that it's way too many calories, it doesn't cause me nearly as much problems as if it's all skewed one direction.

Yup, particularly with brussel sprouts the number in the bag is always off...no matter what brand.

I guess your breakfast isn't giving you a problem?

That amount of calories is pretty low even without exercise so rest assured that you ARE in a deep deficit for sure. Maybe too deep? Anyway, there is a phenomenon called the "woosh" that happens to a lot of us. Sometimes I won't have any loss to show on the scale for several days...even a week... and the then all of a…

This is exactly why I had to quit going to weight watchers meetings several years back. Instead of having an INTERNAL motivator to diet, I had an EXTERNAL one - the weigh-in at the next weekly meeting. This played out by me feeling like I could "cheat" at the beginning of my week and then stay on program the last part of…

I have days too when I occasionally eat more than usual, for various reasons. If i have learned one thing from this app, it's that there is quite a bit of wiggle room between say losing 1 lb a week and actually "gaining" weight. When i have days like the one you are having, i temporarily change my Goal to maintaining my…

That because I'm a 50 year old woman, I would feel like I'm in a skin elasticity/weight loss race!

A favorite in-law who I hadn't seen in a few months (during which that time I had lost 30 lbs) complimented me on my weight loss and then ask me if I was happy where I was at or if I was going to try to lose more. This came as an interesting thought to me, since I was still officially obese. I really liked that comment. It…

I'm on a cruise ship...this June (hopefully! Stupid corona) and while I'm not at my goal weight, I am the slimmest I have been in 20 years. I have on the cute blue, ruffled tankini swimsuit that I bought on clearance at the end of last year. It was too tight when I bought it, but fits perfectly now. I'm laying in the…

What has helped me tremendously and might help you is Intermittent fasting, actually more accurately time restricted eating. Ironically, even though you dont think it would, it really has helped me with my hunger. I'll admit, the first several days are rough, but then your body knows that there isn't any food coming until…

I had it in the summer and for me while I got to feeling 90% better in about a week, it took me about a month to recuperate that last 10% with not every day being the same feeling of wellness. Please know ..... attention women ...... your hair will thin ..... a lot ....about 2 months after you have covid!! I was totally…

Definitely a typo.

Cheat days (or treat days) don't have to "screw you up" either! I'll admit it IS a slippery slope when you overindulge, but ONE treat day isn't the problem either. Sure it may slow down your progress, but the real key is learning how to indulge and then resume your healthy eating pattern. For me, it actually does me good…

I worried about the same thing when I started noticing that I never met the potassium goal and that most days I was WAY off. I had lab work coming up in a couple of months though so I decided I would not worry about it and just see what my potassium level was in my bloodwork. It was perfectly fine despite me failing…

Yes! And the days in particular when it's hardest for me is when my husband is home as well and I ask him what he wants for supper. 🙄 Then, I almost get this "date night" or "special day" mentality and indulge a little too much. Also, if I bake something, that usually spells trouble for me because anything homemade is…

I recently discovered IF too. It was as if a light bulb turned on over my head! Truly a revelation!

Since February 2020 I've learned how to cut my husband's hair and he has been trimming the bottom of mine and I've gone to an all one length style. We have just decided to continue even though we can get haircuts now (with a little bit of a hassle). We save $45 every month!

Orville's smart pop snack size bag is 100 calories and the best - just right!

Looks to me like one bag is 375 calories.

I've lost 33 lbs, but the last three months I have struggled to stay on track due to various celebrations, trips, etc. The result... I have been wearing ill fitting clothes for forever it seems! 😕 They are just kind of baggy, but still wearable. My jeans especially bother me. I am SO ready to get out of this awkward…

I'm 50 yo, my youngest son is in 5th grade. My plan and goal = in 7 years I will be the fittest and slimmest I have ever been in my adult life. And, because I exude youth and energy, and look years younger anyway, and because I won't be confused as the grandmother of my high schooler, I will most definitely at that point…

My mini goal is to log my food EvERy DaY until New Year's. Yes....I.....will.

Yes, the problem with baking sweets is not the one planned cupcake you eat, it's the 3 others (if you're like me)! Try and half those recipes if you can, try and freeze some, and/or I know this is wasteful but if you cant do either of those things just throw some away! It's better than you eating it!

Orville R. Smartpop popcorn. I eat it almost every day! The snack size bag is delicious, only 100 calories, and it satisfies my munchies. If I have extra calories I mix in a serving of cheez it snack mix or I eat 2 bags! 😛
